Revelation 19:20
Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 20:10
The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Revelation 20:14
Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Revelation 20:15
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Anandahya,

I know the scriptures as well as you, but that didn't
really answer the questions did it?
What's your understanding on them?

you know we aren't going to agree

since you want to make it figurative so that it can mean that people who are cast in there aren't really there forever.

this means the beast and the false prophet are cast alive into the lake of fire with brimstone, which is sulfer. stinky stuff...

Revelation 20:10
The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. This is when the devil joins his two buddies in that lake and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Revelation 20:14
Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. the first death is physical and temporary. the second is the lake of fire for eternity

Revelation 20:15
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. if you are not written in the Book of life you get cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
same as above.

what is the confusion?

the cleansing fire of God's chastening is not the same thing as the Lake of Fire.

You asked what I believed about the lake of fire. I answered with Bible verses because that is what I believe.

Though its only an opinion of thought, as i couldn't 100% for certain, being only flesh state something like this as truth, i think it would be foolish to do so.

But as somewhat of a guess through what i have learned in GOD:s Word, this is my beleif.

We are currently living in the shadows (mind influnce) of the valleys of death/satan.

He has a physical spirtual body as well, just like Christ demostrated that we ALL do; so you can know that YES you CAN Get Over Death in and through Christ just like the creator of life and source of love OUR Father promised HE would SHOW us, But only in HIS Way, HIS Will and probably most importantly to US, in HIS time.

The Father is continually moving ahead with HIS Plan, As it is written through Moses and The Prophets, and Confirmed in MY Time, through Christ and The Apostles; So Shall it Be.

If this is only a shadow, then the shadow i would guess would have to relect off of something else that is the real object, So there must be a real valley of death as well i would gather.

I figure that this is the real Hell and is satans/deaths current holding place for his spirital body, and Christ has locked his, (satans) physical appearances away until the end; when there is war in heaven, between satan and Micheal, and there is room found no more.

He first appeared in the Bible physically to Eve & then Adam, the only other times i can think of that satan/death made physical appearances is when passed though Egypt, killing all without the Blood of a Lamb, and then of course to Christ in the wilderness.

Other than that i can.t recall any other physical appearces of satan/death desguised as an angel of light.

Though his spiritual influence does roam this earth age now constantly and persistently.

So to make this long story have a point, i hope  this is what i figure in short.

Wherever in heaven this Real valley of death is, or Hell, i figure that this is ultimatley the lake of fire being used to destroy itself; when it says in Rev: 20/9, and fire came down from heaven, from GOD ect...

As its The Father that ultimatley has to :( do the nasty deed, that unfortunatly has to take place :( He wants US to realize how emotionally difficult it IS for HIM, The Spirit of Love to do this; Just like HE gave the STARK realization to Abraham whe Abram had Issiac on The Alter; and then re-named him Abraham, as it was when that knife was raised over his beloved son Issiac, that i'm sure that Abram clearly understood OUR Father's PAIN. :(

And Lest we ever forget the PAIN on that Cross as a STARK reminder, that OUR Father is Both Upset & Angry, until this Temporal realm IS Over.

Forever in Christ :)

Anandas reply put one questin for me: The lake of fire is second death, the why it's said "And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." To my understanding dead know and feel nothing so being tormented requires that you are alive. correct?

Exodus 24:17
(17) And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
Deuteronomy 4:24
(24) For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

The fire could be the glory of God which is like a fire. What else could destroy Satan.

Revelation 20:9
(9) And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Revelations 19: 20 says they are cast alive into the lake.

the dead must be able to do more then people think. we have this image

from Revelation 20 "12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[c] and books were opened."
