Today, many preachers say they can perform the same miracles that Jesus Christ performed. Some even say they do "greater works" than Jesus did.

You can know if these claims are true or not if you will compare Christ's miracles with what these "modern-day miracle workers" are able to do.

Following is a list of Jesus' miracles. Study them and compare them with any claim man makes. If you will do this, you will clearly see the vast differences between the claims of today and Christ's miracles.

The Miracles of Christ

Water turned into wine. John 2:6-10

Nobleman's son healed. John 4:46-53

Centurion's servant healed. Matthew 8:3-13

Large number of fish(es). Luke 5:4-6; John 21:6

Demons cast out. Matthew 8:28-32, 9:32-33, 15:22-28, 17:14-18

Peter's mother-in-law healed. Matthew 8:14-15

Lepers cleansed. Matthew 8:3; Luke 17:14

Paralyzed man healed. Mark 2:3-12

Withered hand restored. Matthew 12:10-13

The dead raised to life. Matthew 9:18-19,23-25; Luke 7:12-13; John11:11-14

Severe bleeding stopped. Matthew 9:20-22

Sight restore to the blind. Matthew 9:27-30; Mark 8:22-25; John 9:1-7

The deaf and mute cured. Mark 7:32-35

The multitude fed. Matthew 14:15-21, 15:32-38

Jesus walking on the water/sea. Matthew 14:25-27

Peter walking on the water/sea. Matthew 14:29

Jesus calms a storm. Matthew 8:23-27; Mark 4:35-41; Luke 8:22-25

Tribute money. Matthew 17:27

Woman healed of her infirmity. Luke 13:11-13

Dropsy cured. Luke 14:2-4

Fig tree blighted/cursed. Matthew 21:19

Malchus, the High Priest's slave, healed. Luke 22:50-51

Many miracles done before John's messengers. Luke 7:21-22

Many kinds of diseases healed. Matthew 4:23-24, 14:14, 15:30; Mark 1:34; Luke 6:17-19

His resurrection. Luke 24:6; John 10:18

His appearance to His disciples. John 20-19

You can see by this comparison that the supposed miracles workers today are false teachers because they cannot perform these miracles that Jesus Christ did.

Do not be deceived by these false prophets. "My dear friends, do not believe all who claim to have the Spirit, but test them to find out if the spirit they have comes from God. For many false prophets have gone out everywhere." (1 John 4:1 TEV/GNB/GNT)

It seems to me that in general pastors are expected by the people, not God to be the only ones to manifest most of these miracles, but thats not what the Bible says, it says believers will do these things and possibly meaning not greater things but greater amount of things. Look at Jesus, He had His disciples really busy doing all kinds of stuff.

I think were people go wrong isthey don't ask themselves why Jesus done the miracles, in fact we are so fixated with the term ' iracle' that we neglect that John calls them signs.

so what do these signs point to? and why? what was Jesus answer to John the Baptists people in Matthew 11, what did he mean?

now ask yourself on the whole why do we have people claiming to be healers and what do their miracles do, why do they do them?

Just something to think about!

Signs miracles and wonders in the NT were confirimation of the truth of what was being preached

Rom 15:18&19

Acts 14:3

Heb 2:3&4

John 10:38

As God is the same yesterday, today and forever would the same be true today?

Very good point to consider.
