OK, so there I was chatting to God about my singleness and asking questions of Him...(Yes, I'm single. Not a commercial, just a FACT hehe).

Well recently I've been frustrated about my ability to fall for someone, and my ability to put my feelings out there, only for them not to be reciprocated. By nature, I'm an intense, passionate person. I write, I love music and musicals and will pursue a woman to the point of madness if I am really into her (not a stalker...just FACT again hehe). I'm just a loving person, who wants to be loved back. (Okay, so that was a commercial lol). And yet, sometimes I wish I could rip my emotions out of my heart and be neutered, so I don't have to feel heartache. Seriously, love sometimes sucks.

Anyway, I was asking the Lord about this issue, and no sooner had I stepped out of the shower (yes, I'm a shower pray-er), then He reminded me that He is seriously passionate too.

Remember, in Genesis 1 it says that God wanted to make man in His image; and in in His likeness? Well, without wanting to humanise God, His passions are infinitely greater, and certainly His passion for the human race. The bible says He is a jealous God, and someone who actually feels remorse, as He did when He saw the sinful nature of mankind at the time of Noah.

When I like a girl, I sing her a song, or buy her some flowers. When God loves a person, He nails His Son to a cross to save them from sin! The bible tells us about the nature of love in 1 Corinthians 13 and also in John's gospel, where it says that love gives up its life for others (John 15:13). His passion for us doesn't make our heartache any less painful, but shows us the yearning that He has in his heart for us.

Remember, next time you feel that twinge of sadness, that yearning for a soulmate and to be loved exclusively by another, God is thinking exactly the same thing, but about you.

You don't post often, but when you do it is well worth the read. Thank you :)
