You can believe that Jesus lived under the "old covenant" that has vanished and gone away and all of His teachings and following His example would automatically vanish as well. I can see why this would be a popular teaching for those so desperately trying to get rid of the Sabbath, that is according to the commandment Luke 23:56 and people would rather throw out the other 9 commandments then keep the one God said Remember, now we have to throw out Jesus being our example, because Jesus kept the Sabbath- basically the devil really takes issue with God Sabbath and has taught millions if not billions we don't need to keep, or it can be edited to suit our own lifestyle.

Mans condemnation means nothing to be, it actually recharges my faith because we were told the commandment keeping people would be persecuted Rev 12:17 Mat 10:22 so thank you.

That said, if interested in looking at the scriptures to see what His word teaches lets take a look.

Jesus was born under the law Galatians 4:4 Jesus was born human under the law, just as Mary, just as us and this means under the condemnation of the law. The wages of sin is death Rom 6:23. The curse is still there, but Jesus gave us another option, to die of self, and live for Him, which means following the example He left for us. He is the only one who has been able to keep the law without sin, and if we are right with Christ, abide in His love and follow Him, He will impute His righteousness, because we have none.

Had Jesus not been born under the penalty of the law and sinned just once, He could have not been our Savior and all of humanity would be last.

But, Jesus did not fail. While He was tempted, just as we are He was without sin

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

The New Testament means New Covenant

Jesus was the Mediator of the New Covenant so lived in the New Covenant, not the Old.

Hebrews 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

His death ratified His covenant- It Is Finished John 19:30

Meaning nothing can be added or changed to His covenant.

The Sabbath rest after His death, is still according to the commandment Luke 23:56

God said in the commandment the seventh day is the Sabbath Exo:10

The author of Hebrews didn't change the Sabbath 40 decades after Christ death as many try to read into that passage. This passage supports what God said and one would have to understand the story of Joshus and David in the OT to understand fully this passage. If anyone interested in going verse by verse with me on it, I would be happy to go through it and study together. But changing God's Sabbath or any of the God's commandments goes against what Jesus taught. And while many believe what He taught and how He lived was for other people, its not what Jesus said

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Sadly, people think they can skip all of His teachings, all of His sanctification and just be in Christ, but it doesn't work like that.

Jesus said:
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [e]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

No one is walking in harmony with Jesus in His Spirit by not loving Him and disobeying His commandments. And His commandments are His version, what He wrote and what He spoke and if we believe in Him, we would believe in His teachings and follow His example.

How do we abide in Jesus?
John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love,
1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1 John 2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

So lets not deceive ourselves, if we abide in Christ, we will keep His commandments and follow the example He left for us.

Jesus kept all of the commandments including the Sabbath and He said follow Me, not to follow man, that path leads to a ditch Mat 15:3-14

If we believe in Jesus, we would believe His teaching such as

Mat 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

This is Jesus quoting Old Testament- so despite the teachings of many, Jesus puts all the Glory of what God said, not to just "hear" but to live by i.e. do.

Exodus 20 And God spoke all these words, saying:

Exo 20: 8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

I say we have faith in Jesus in what He taught, how He lived. He is the way, will only lead us down the narrow path back to reconciliation Isa 56:1-6 Rev 22:14
More disingenuousness. I never said to disregard what Jesus said or do away with the Sabbath. As long as you characterize responses in this way, you simply exemplify your ignorance to what is actually being said.
I'll try to state it very clearly:
The law can only be kept with the aid of the Spirit, and the rest pictured in Sabbath is the rest found in grace when the accomplishment of Christ in life and death is credited to us.
To be clear: this neither does away with the law or the Sabbath, but it definitely informs their purpose and exercise.

What I'd like to hear is what is the blessing of the Sabbath? Got any thoughts on that?
i do not know if anyone replied to this for you but see below a short answer;

The Sabbath is a day set apart by God for rest and renewal, both physically and spiritually. In Exodus 20:8-10, God commands His people to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, instituting a day of rest from their labor as He rested after creation. This day of rest is a gift from God, designed to provide physical restoration and spiritual refreshment. In Isaiah 58:13-14, God speaks of the delight that comes when the Sabbath is honored, promising that those who turn away from their own desires and call the day holy will find joy in the Lord. He assures them, “Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth…” (Isaiah 58:14).

The Sabbath also serves as a sign of God's covenant with His people. In Ezekiel 20:12, God declares that He gave the Sabbath to Israel as a sign between Him and them, a reminder that He is the One who sanctifies them. “I gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.” (Ezekiel 20:12). It is a day for drawing closer to God, renewing the relationship He desires with His people. When observed rightly, the Sabbath brings not only physical rest but also spiritual peace and restoration. In Exodus 31:17, God says, “It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.”

Throughout Scripture, the Sabbath is tied to both physical and spiritual blessings. In Deuteronomy 5:12-15, the Israelites are reminded to observe the Sabbath in remembrance of their deliverance from Egypt. “Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you… and remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm…” (Deuteronomy 5:12-15). This act of remembering God’s saving power is accompanied by material blessings, rest, freedom, and abundance. Jesus, in the New Testament, shows that the Sabbath is a day for healing and restoration. In Matthew 12:10-12, Jesus heals a man on the Sabbath, emphasizing that the day is for doing good and bringing healing to those in need. He says, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep?” (Matthew 12:11-12).

do not confuse with texts that use sabbaths in plural, these sabbaths were different and not part of the 10 commandments they had a different purpose.

  • The Sabbath Year (Every seventh year, the land was to rest and lie fallow): “The land shall rest and enjoy its sabbath. As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest which it did not have on your sabbaths when you dwelt in it.” (Leviticus 26:34-35 NKJV)
  • The Year of Jubilee (Every fiftieth year, a special year of rest and freedom, following seven cycles of Sabbath years): “And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.” (Leviticus 25:10 NKJV)
  • The Sabbath of Unleavened Bread (A week-long festival beginning with the Passover, marked by a special Sabbath on the first and seventh days): “On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no customary work on it. But you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord for seven days. The seventh day shall be a holy convocation; you shall do no customary work on it.” (Leviticus 23:7-8 NKJV)
  • The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur, a solemn Sabbath day of fasting and atonement, observed on the 10th day of the seventh month): “Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 23:27-28 NKJV)
  • The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah, a Sabbath rest observed on the first day of the seventh month, signaling the start of the new year): “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.'” (Leviticus 23:24 NKJV)
  • The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) (The day after seven weeks of counting, marked by a special offering and rest, though it was not a full Sabbath): “You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the Lord.” (Leviticus 23:16 NKJV)
  • The Sabbath of the Land (The land was to rest every seventh year, not only in the Jubilee year, but as part of God's commands for His people to let the land lie fallow): “Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord.” (Leviticus 25:3-4 NKJV)
  • The Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot, a week-long feast in the fall, with a Sabbath on the first and eighth days): “On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.” (Leviticus 23:35-36 NKJV)

Amen!

Just to add

What a blessing it is to join ourselves to Christ, to love His name (His character) to serve Him and do what He says is righteousness, keeping away from evil, made for everyone to join in His blessing.

56 Thus says the Lord:

“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
For My salvation is about to come,
And My righteousness to be revealed.

2 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
3 Do not let the son of the foreigner

6 “Also the sons of the foreigner
Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him,
And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants—
Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant

People don't realize we have two choices- blessed by God, or by default cursed. Those are our options

Deut 30:15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. 17 But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. 19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

And no man can take away God's blessing Num 23:20 because man is not God. Without God's blessing, we are nothing

Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,

Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

I appreciate you taking the time to prepare this answer. Which Sabbath doesn't relate to the rest Jesus offers in Matthew 11:28-30?

They lie repeatedly and think they are keeping the law. Like the liar known as @MeowFlower.

The rest God gives Matthew 11:28-30 we enter by faith. Heb 4:2

Those who enter His rest also cease from his works, as God did from His Heb 4:10 on the seventh day Heb 4:4 Exo 20:11 Gen 2:1-3

In God's rest, there is no rebellion or sin, just peace like a river and righteousness like the waves of the sea Isa 48:18 Its complete submission to Christ and His will, come to Him His salvation rest is waiting. Today is the day if we hear His voice not to be in rebellion like the Israelites were who never entered into their rest Heb 3:7-8 Psa 95:7-11 Lets not follow their same path of disobedience so we can enter ours Heb Heb 4:6 4:11, the invitation is for everyone.

Are you saying Christ's rest is not for here and now? Are you saying Christ's rest is different from the Sabbath rest?

Are you saying Christ's rest is not for here and now? Are you saying Christ's rest is different from the Sabbath rest?
Christ rest is available now, but the rest He gives is not the same as Sabbath rest, that is physical rest from works and labors on the seventh day and to focus on Christ Isa 58:13 Exo 20:8-11 .

We enter His rest though faith
Heb 4:2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, [a]not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

We do not enter by disobedience
Hebrews 4:6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

Those who enter ALSO cease from their works as God did,

Heb 4:10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
God ceased from His works on the seventh day

Hebrews 4:4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;
Which the author is quoting from Mt Sinai when God spoken of the seventh day Exo 20:11 which is a reference to Creation- God rested on the seventh day, stated three times Gen 2:1-3

Its why the Sabbath-rest remains for the people of God.

The rest in this verse literally translates into Sabbath-keeping

sabbatismos: Sabbath rest
Original Word: σαββατισμός
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: sabbatismos
Pronunciation: sab-bat-is-mos'
Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos')
Definition: Sabbath rest
Meaning: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.

The Sabbath-rest is according to the commandment
Luke 23:56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

In Christ rest there is no rebellion to Him, its just peace and righteousness. Isa 48:18 why we are told not to follow the same path of disobedience so we can enter our rest Heb 4:11, there was a lot of Sabbath profaning in the wilderness Eze 20:13 Eze 20:21 thats not the path to follow.

Hebrews 4:4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;

There's a whole lot here that needs either correction or understanding, but why don't you believe the benefits of the Sabbath were always experienced through faith? Is obedience not the activity of faith? Is an OT saint able to please God apart from faith?

How then is the rest of Christ a matter of faith, yet the rest of the Sabbath not also of faith?

Its okay, we don't have to agree, you have not made a biblical argument against these scriptures, and our opinions while important to us, is not the same as God's Word, so I'll leave it as agree to disagree.

God only asked us to keep one day set aside for holy use
This is a declaration of someone living by the strength of their flesh.

The truth is: "Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

This is the fulfillment of Jesus' prayer:

"And the glory which You gave Me I have given them.."

Some will quote "God shares His glory with no one!" and they would be correct.
But when we are in Christ we are not "another". We are His flesh and His bones.

Jesus continues...

"..that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."

In this arrangement it is foolish to think "we spend time with God on certain days". How devoid of understanding! When He is in us when are we without Him? When is our life full of the world and free of God?

You cannot remove the egg once it's baked into the cake! How silly to say "We will eat cake most days, but on one day we will just eat the egg that's in it." How absurd!

Paul gave this instruction to the saints in Colossians:

"Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all."

The old man's deeds (in the flesh) have been "put off". This is the essence of sabbath rest for the people of God.

"There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His."

The one in Christ does not bifurcate his life between the spiritual and the carnal. No fly is permitted in the ointment. The one in Christ is spiritual. In this life; folded into God and Christ by God's grace, the man has life of his own, he has no time to give God. His whole life is hidden in Christ and he is a bond servant to the Lord.

How does this work?: the son of God goes to where he is sent, works where he is sent, says what is given to him, plans what he is told to plan, blesses when he is cursed, speaks evil on no one, and often goes where he does not want to go.

Sorry if you feel the New Creation in Christ means one can sin and break God's law, the Sabbath is not even mentioned in these verses2 Corinthians 5:11–17 but I guess Paul and the apostles were not of the new creation in your definition either as they also kept faithfully every Sabbath. Acts 15:21 Acts 13:42 Acts 13:44 Acts 18:4

I guess Jesus got it wrong too, for keeping the Sabbath Luke 4:16 and instead of being a follower of Christ 1 John 2:6 we are to follow someone else.

Thanks, but no thanks.

You still don't get it. I never argue against scripture; only what I believe is a misunderstanding of them. And you continue to be disingenuous because of the way you frame my arguments. For example, in this post you insinuate that I haven't but should have made a biblical argument against scripture.
What I have shown is the Sabbath and the rest found in Christ. This means the former is a picture of what was to come with Christ. To understand and actually keep the commandment, one must have had in view the rest in Christ.

No one is saying that except you. Also, no one is divorcing the 10 Commandments from the Law except you. Everything given at Sinai was for the people at Sinai, not for Abraham or any of the patriarchs.

Jesus kept the Law because He was born under the law.

"God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."

If the power of the law stood, no one could be adopted as a son of God. Slaves, by birth, cannot inherit the kingdom of God.

So what broke the power of the law?

"Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?"

So, upon the death of Jesus, He was released from the Law. And more than that! Because He died without sin, He took the authority away from Hell and Death.

"Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God."

We are not gathered into the body of Jesus. We are gathered into the Body of Christ. He remains dead to the law and we, who were never given the law, remain dead to the law in Him.

More disingenuousness. He didn't equate the new creation and disobedience.
