My father-in-law was a fine faithful Christian that I had the pleasure to know for about
20 years. He had been a sunday school teacher and loved reading the Bible. A few years
ago we were called to come to see him at the hospital where he was quite ill. My wife
wanted to see him once more before he passed and so did I.

When we got there they told us that he had suffered a major stroke and was not expected
to survive long. We both were allowed in the room for a short time and I was surprised to
see that he knew who we were. He was happy to see us, but then he talked to my wife and
told her that he must have somehow been guilty of the unpardonable sin, because it seemed
to him that the Lord had turned against him. She tried to talk him out of that thought, and when
we were alone we talked about it. He was old, way past 80 and we thought that surely he had not
been guilty of the unpardonable sin, but we thought that perhaps it was his time to die and
after go to Heaven. Thank the Lord we did not have to worry whether he was saved or not.
It is appointed for us all to die once, but Christians like you and I and father in law do not
have to die a second time. He died quickly as a faithful servant would. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Age and illness combined can cause mental issues..........mind games..........went through this with my Father.....he was convinced (after 65 years of being a faithful Christian) that he was not saved...........it was simply the age, illness combined with the medication that was playing tricks on his thinking..........

God bless
