eh, you should re-read the verse that you are referencing. It doesn't mean what you are saying. It says I'd "rather" be with the Lord. Also, the Lord is Jesus, not the Father, in this case.
I don't want to derail the thread with a discussion of "instant reward upon death" verses "waiting for the Last Day". The Catholic idea that heaven is NOW, after death, is not how the Bible portrays things. But if you are interested in that, we can start another thread.
