Dear pneumapsuchesoma: Trinity (Anti-Filioque: Monopatrist) That is what Matthew 28:19 and John 15:26 teach, in fulfillment of our understanding all truth (John 16:13) by the Holy Spirit; of course, in your quest to read the Bible "for yourself", you may reject all of these as traditions of men. Of course, if you come up with any tradition on your own, it is a tradition of men, because you are a man. If you or I get our traditions from the Church, it is a tradition of God, as the Church is from God (Matt. 16:18, 1 Timothy 3:15), and truth comes from the Spirit in the Church (John 16:13), that all Christians be one (John 17). Original Trinity formulation interpreted John 15:26 to indicate the Holy Spirit proceedeth from the Father. (Non-Filioque)

Later Trinity formulation interpreted John 15:26 to indicate the Holy Spirit proceedeth from both the Father and the Son. (Filioque)

It was the source of the East-West Schism culminating in 1054AD.

Most Protestants are Filioque Trinitarians, as are most Anglican and RCC, etc. Eastern Orthodox has remained Non-Filioque.
