To the OP.
Marital love is supposed to have sexuality. Even in the NT it encourages married couples to come together regularly. This man is in love with her inside and out, and her in love with him the same way. I see nothing graphic or pornographic in this book. Just because your personal interpretation makes you see it that way doesn't mean it Is that way. I'd say, if anything, your opinion, and over the top reaction, reflects more on you than it does the bible.
I only hope if I get married one day I can feel even half as strongly about my wife as they speak about on another.

I'm not going to explain the verses from my point of view because, to me, that would be explaining a pornographic scene. If you have an interpretation of the verses I would be open to hearing that.
Translation: I view things a certain way but I'm not going to tell you how, yet I expect you to prove me wrong.

There it is. You're operating under the assumption that if you don't understand or like it, it must be in error. That's an underlying assumption that won't be a bit dealt with by anyone answering your questions.

I say that because it seems to contradict itself on the issue of pornography. I don't know if the Bible says pornography is wrong. I assume, based on views and sermons of other Christians, that pornography/literotica is wrong.

I may be jaded to interpret things in the wrong way.

Hi umzza: The bible is what it is. Song of Solomon is about passion between a man and a woman, God created men and women to be able to have a passionate relationship, I really see nothing evil in that. I see the story as nothing more then that. Why did Solomon write the story of passion between a man and a woman?, I suppose because he was in a position to experience such things and to write about it. Why did Mary marry an older man, probably because he was able to take care of her more so then a man of her own age. I think the laws were made in our time to protect young ladies from male sexual predators, however young women marry older men all the time of their own free will and sometimes older women marry younger men. As long as they are all of legal age and not being forced that is their business. There was a well known Christian man who married a woman about 20 years or so older then him, when she died he remarried a woman about 20 years or so younger then himself...that was his business and the business of the women he married, as long as everyone was an adult and not being forced into anything.

No, I don't want to say what I think the verses mean. I don't feel comfortable talking about boobs, oral, etc okay.......

If someone has a different interpretation, I would be glad to hear it.

Song of Solomon is not porn, not in any way. It describes the stages of marriage from courting to engagement and then marriage. There is nothing expressed in the Song that is wrong or porn,it is love and commitment.Porn is not about commitment, love nor respect. Porn is about forcing your desires on someone else. No comparison at all.

Lust is a sin, not sexual love between married couples. Sexual desire is a pretty prime mover in life. If the Bible did not mention it, something very important would seem to be missing.

Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies.

4:16-
Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.

7:7-
This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes.8 I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples

7:3-Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins

Now that we have that out there can you tell me,between a married couple, how this is porn and wrong? How is a married couple enjoying each others bodies porn? Do you think it might just be that you have something twisted here? You do realize your parents had sex for you to get here, and its a pretty good bet that they enjoyed it.

Solomon was the wisest man that has ever lived.. Who better to write about the relationship between a man and woman?

And, it was customary for younger girls to be betrothed to an older man... that is simply the way it was done in that culture. In some cultures today it is still common.

The Bible was not written to satisfy the social mores of a 21st century American citizen. It was written to be what it is... the word of God. A written history of the chosen ones of God, from Adam down to Jesus.
Never thought about him being the wisest man. Good point to think about.

It has been a while since I read the Scriptures in question but the only word
I could think was objectionable was "breasts" as Kayla has shown with the
verses provided. However, if someone has a problem with the word "breasts"
being in the Bible, I agree with Ugly that there are deeper issues going on here.

I guess I view anything that seems to arouse as porn. Like it's a wholesome relationship but I'm an outsider reading about it and it has the same effect porn would have for me.

Where is the oral sex in these verses? Is the palm tree a phallus? What am I missing?

Well I dont want to get into the weeds here. Arousal in this instance, between spouses,is not wrong. But if you are single and feel this is tempting or arousing then you simply need to skip it. But it is not porn and not wrong to be aroused by your spouse.

I don't think sex is wrong. I actually think it's pretty great. My issue is when I read those verses it is like reading literotica or watching porn. It is a person stating both their sexual desires and sexual actions towards another person. It is creating a picture in the mind. If I watched a pornographic tape created by a married couple, that would be wrong, right?

Can I explain the problem as I see it ?
You are reading the 'offending scriptures with 'natural, carnal basic human eyes....
and not with/in the 'spiritual meaning' as intended.
I think your questions are quite natural and normal for someone of your tender age who can't be expected to have the experience of the more mature. Give it time and don't doubt God !

Yeah you're probably right.
