I've noticed this mainly when I've been singing a song, but whenever I've been on mic for an extended period of time in the yousing room or any other room that has a longer limit on mic I run into a connection problem. After I stop singing and release the mic button the popup box comes up saying a connection problem has occurred and to re-log back in.

Any ideas? other than sing / use the mic for a shorter period of time :p

This almost sounds like a ISP (Internet Service Provider) problem. Talking on the mic takes more bandwidth, and for prolonged periods, it could stress the ISP if there is a problem there. I would suggest checking the version of your flash player, trying a different internet browser (Chrome, IE, Firefox, etc), and another site that uses a lot of bandwidth, such as uploading a video to YouTube since the problem seems to be with sending data rather than receiving. Speedtest.net might be a good site to test your net too. If you run into any problems uploading on another site, call your ISP and tell them the issue. If not, I'd say it's a flash problem and using another web browser with it built in will fix it, such as Firefox.

Sounds like ZamZC18 is referring to "throttling"; providers do this whenever they detect high traffic (example: torrent downloads). I doubt mic use would cause this, but I suppose it's possible. This seems more plausible if you have your video enabled - but audio alone shouldn't cause your ISP to enlist throttling.

...unless...

...maybe they don't like your singing either!

We are experiencing ongoing issues in chat related to the audio/video chat. Robo is working nonstop to try to fix them as best as he can, but unfortunately some of them take $$ to fix. As the site continues to grow we are constantly running our server at or near capacity, likewise we are frequently exceeding the total number of users permitted by our licensing for Adobe Flash.

The fix, additional funding so we can upgrade our server which is a monthly cost and additional funding to purchase the upgraded Adobe licensing which is a substantial one time cost.
