Try un-installing, and reloading Adobe. I had the same problem a while back. Once you can get into chat again, right click the window, click on settings, then click on the icon of the monitor with the eye in it. Then click on allow and remember. It will permanently allow your mic and cam without having to allow it every time you log in.

This is ideal for many users. It will do away with the nag screen when the chat applet loads - thus eliminating the occasional Flash lock up.

I've noticed clicking "Allow" or "Deny" before doing anything else works - sometimes you have to click said button a few times, or wait a second before it actually registers is all. But if I move the volume slider, for example, and then attempt to "Allow" or "Deny" mic access, it locks up.

Happy hunting.

I've been having the same issue. Just mash the button a lot with your mouse. If that doesn't work, close out of the browser (completely out), re-open the browser, and try again.
If you can get to the setting menu then that check mark is nice, although i've found that i also have to click many times for it to be recognized.
If you clear your browser settings/cache/etc to keep your browser running cleanly, it will clear out that preference and you'll have to do it again.

Ccleaner for the win. ;)
