Acts 2:37-39

New International Version

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

My Question is who are the far off and who are the children yet to receive the call.

Then is the the promise of God, a call for the far off and the children, to be called into the new covenant 😊

Then why would God call the far of and the children who are under no covenant.

Then when the far of and the children have been baptised are they then under a promise, as in under a new covenant

The Question is why 😊

A major error in the bible

KJV Act 8:16-17
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 19:2-7

They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”

“John’s baptism,” they replied.

4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues[b] and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all.

Both Acts 8 and acts 19 say they where baptised in Jesus name, then layed hand on them.

Well in both Acts 8 and acts 19., they would have had to lay there hands on them to baptise them.

So This looks like to me, it means in order for them to be baptised in Jesus name they had to lay there hands. on them to baptise them into water.

Which means the Type of baptism being described is water baptism 😊

If you read it as, they where baptised as one event, then had laying on of hands a separate event, the interpretation is lost.

It most certainly means one event, laying your hands on someone to baptise them in water. 😊

For me it is simply sayin when the laying on of hands began the water baptism began.

My Question is who are the far off and who are the children yet to receive the call.
Vs. 36 tells who the afar off are. Those yet to receive the call are those who are described by Jesus Himself in the 17th Chapter of John: 20) Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

Then is the the promise of God, a call for the far off and the children, to be called into the new covenant 😊
Yes, and yes.

Then why would God call the far of and the children who are under no covenant.
The answer is in Romans, Chapter 9:

23And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

Because it was, from the beginning, Gods salvation plan for all mankind,.

1 Timothy, Chapter 2:

4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
