as an atheist looking to exploit any of religons faults, even I cant blame god for killing someone just because you watched porn.

This isn't about you. And the focus shouldn't be on you. Let the focus be where it should be, yeah?

Absolutely not!! God is not punishing you, OR her!! Things like this happen--we don't know why, but what we do know is God has a plan for your friend. He is in control of her situation right now. Depending on the extent of her injuries, it may be better for now that she's in a coma.. That way, any internal injuries she has, that would be made worse by her moving around, will be given a chance to properly heal while she is laying still in a coma..

No God would not punish your friend for something you have done - I don't even believe He would punish you for your addiction. I don't have the answers as to why this happened to your friend but I do know you need to be praying about her situation and for God to deliver you from your addiction.

Don't forget the enemy may have played a part in your friends accident and he will certainly love you being caught up in an addiction and rubbing his hands with glee that you are questioning God's part in it all. I will pray for you and your friend. God bless you both.

God's response to porn addiction is for christians struggling with this to embrace His GRACE. It is the power of His saving grace that empowers Christians to turn from addictions.

The addiction cycle is kind of.. do addictive thing (in this case accessing porn).. feel yuck after... CONDEMN yourself (or punish yourself) and then go BACK to the addictive thing to relieve the condemning/punishing feeling.

The Godly cycle is like.. do addictive thing.. feel conviction from God after.. embrace the fact there is NO CONDEMNATION, but there is grace from Jesus and focus on Jesus' promises and blessings and NOT the addictive thing.

The Godly cycle produces lasting change. It's all about His grace.. embracing His promises over anything the world offers in terms of lust and addiction. His blessings are far far far greater.

Should you find an accountability partner or mentor to help you break free of porn? Absolutely YES!

Did your friend get badly hurt because of you? Absolutely NO!

"so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, andsends rain on the just and on the unjust." Matt 5. 45

Do not read into God the thoughts or his ways, in a human way.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isa. 55:8-9

We simply cannot understand why these things happen, but God IS in control.

“For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?” Romans 11:35

The answer for you is to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Then you will have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you. You will have the mind of Christ. This does not mean you will be God or know everything, but it does mean that you are walking with God, and he is transforming you into his image.

“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Cor. 2:16

I would suggest you memorize this passage, and say it to yourself when you are tempted.

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:1-2

Praying for you to break free of this devastating sin, and for you to know Jesus.

If it has an effect on your addiction, then it most likely was one of the reason. But God can do many of task at one time, and so it might be for other reasons as well, but it is all for the purpose to bring others closer to Him.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Not saying this to be mean or critical, but it's what popped into my head... this idea seems a bit self absorbed. My friend is in an accident and put into a coma, it must be about me. Rather than turning something that has nothing at all to do with you into something all about you, it may provide more wise and understandable to focus on your friend, her family and friends.
There is a distinction between God making something happen to affect you vs God taking a situation that's Not about you and finding a way to use it to reach you.
And there are a lot of Christians battling with porn addiction, yet God hasn't gone around punishing them all.
Can i ask a NT reference for why you believe God is punishing you for your sins? A sin that is an addiction, nonetheless, and not something so willful.

Dont you dare tell lies in a situation like this. Dont you ever put that garbage on someone who is already struggling with guilt.

You back that up with scripture.

You back that up with scripture.
5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.

But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.

14 Then they cried out to the Lord, “Please, Lord, do not let us die for taking this man’s life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, Lord, have done as you pleased.” 15 Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm. 16 At this the men greatly feared the Lord, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows to him.

Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

as i have posted my best friend was in a horrible car wreck a drunk T-boned her car she is now in a coma. now the question i have is could God meant for this happen i have had a horrible addiction to porn and maby this is Gods way of punishing me for my addiction to porn[/QUOTE So let me get this straight: You think that her accident was because of YOUR sin?? THAT is PRIDE, dude. And it is also not the way God works...although the devil would have you think so. No. Her accident was because of her own open doors to the kingdom of darkness...her unrepented sin, generational curses effective in her life. You get to pay for your own sin, as does she.
Feel free to ask any questions, but the point of being a Christian is that we CHOOSE to NOT SIN. If you are still messing with porn, you need deliverance. The original church took people through deliverance upon conversion to Christianity. EVERYONE needs deliverance, so don't take offense.

She got hit by a DRUNK DRIVER.. her accident was HIS fault.. it wasn't because of any unrepented sin that she may have..it was because some stupid idiot chose to drink and drive..

As far as Garfield's deliverance from porn, only God can do that for her.

what the....? Don't people know how to read? God did not cause her friend's accident because Garfield has an addiction.. She got t-boned by a freakin' drunk driver!! Accidents happen, yes certainly, but drunk driving is NOT an accident!! It is knowingly and willfully driving when you KNOW you're drunk off your butt, yet choose to drive anyway, knowing the possibility of an accident could happen. As Free-To-Be stated, you need to give scripture that backs up your statement. That was a horrible thing to say to Garfield!! SMH

I'd just posted some verse of how the way God work. Jonah was suppose to speak to the people of Nineveh about repentance, but he decided to go another direction; but God had assigned him to be the one to bring people into repentance, and so no matter what we decide on, if it is God will for us to bring people to repent, then His "will", will be done. By Jonah running away show that God's will is still being done, by bringing the sailors into repentance. Before they were praying to other god's, but afterward, they'll was praying to God only. Whatever a situation that might seem bad, but in God, it is for the good. We suppose to leave everything up to him, that if we trust Him.

Luke 23:46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. (My life is left in your hands)
