Dear Sister Garfield, it’s written in God’s Word in John, 9:1-5 when the disciples asked Jesus about a blind man, “Whose sin caused his blindness, his parents or his own sin?”

Because of false guilt and shame of our past sins, it’s easy for us to be tempted to blame ourselves or someone else for trials and suffering. We think someone has to be the blame.

But Jesus answered the disciples, "Neither his parents or the man himself had anything to do with his blindness, but that God’s power would be seen through this situation.” Jesus is saying that this man’s healing would glorify God and people would see it for themselves.

Instead of finding someone to blame in someone’s suffering, we are to turn to God on the person’s behalf and pray for them that the Lord may be glorified.

In the book of Job, it tells of Job’s suffering grief for losing all of his children and his intense physical pain of boils. His own friends kept asking him what sin he committed that God would allow him to suffer like that. It caused Job even more agony and heartache because they should have been encouraging him and praying for him.

Please don’t allow the devil to accuse you of being the fault of your friend’s suffering. Pray for your friend and ask God to be glorified in her situation. We will pray with you, dear sister, for your friend's healing and for your peace of mind and freedom from addiction.

She got hit by a DRUNK DRIVER.. her accident was HIS fault.. it wasn't because of any unrepented sin that she may have..it was because some stupid idiot chose to drink and drive..

As far as Garfield's deliverance from porn, only God can do that for her.
[/QUOT The devil cannot...CANNOT touch someone without God's permission. That Girl that got T-boned could not have been hit UNLESS there was something in her life that made God Allow it. God does not do the JOB scenario since the Cross. So my statements stands. Her sin or generational curses affecting her life. The verse of EX 20 do not change because of the Cross...they are Spiritual LAW. The curses can, however, be broken because of the Cross and His shed blood. Sadly, they churches do not teach these spiritual truths and so people perish for lack of KNOWLEDGE.

Her accident was NOT the result of a "generational curse." That is ludicrous. And the devil is ALWAYS looking for an "in". Of course he can touch us without God's permission. If he couldn't, there would be no evil in this world.

as i have posted my best friend was in a horrible car wreck a drunk T-boned her car she is now in a coma. now the question i have is could God meant for this happen i have had a horrible addiction to porn and maybe this is Gods way of punishing me for my addiction to porn
God does not send consequences for sin on others. He sends them on us:

1Co 11:28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. 30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep. 31 But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

The point is this. Weakness, sickness, physical death ... these are the things that are God's personal judgment on Christians that do not judge themselves properly. Not someone else's weakness, sickness or death. And it's only the physical body, and not the soul or it wouldn't use the term "sleep". For a further illustration of this read 1 Cor. 5.

Also, while the bible doesn't say one word about our modern word for pornography, even though Roman art was full of it, and it was popular throughout bible times even in the O.T.. Not to mention Solomon and his 1000 wives he not only saw naked but had children with. You will notice that there are no passages about what he did being wrong, other than that he took foreign wives.

Adultery doesn't have the same definition we have in our modern world either. That is why David could have 6 wives and kids with 5 of them BEFORE committing adultery. Nowadays, if I take a second wife, everyone would call it adultery. Oddly, in God's reproof of David through the profit, God says that He was the one who gave David even the wives of his enemies, and that He would have gladly given David many more if only he hadn't committed adultery.

Fornication, or pornea which is the Greek word for fornication, is unlawful sexual intercourse, and only that. It includes Adultery, pre-marital intercourse, homosexual intercourse and bestiality. Our modern word pornography is derived from that root word. Trying to apply the modern meaning back into scripture doesn't work though. For example, the word pneumatic(Air powered) is a modern word made from the Greek root Pneuma. In scripture it is the word used for the Holy Spirit. To go backwards and shove the meaning of pneumatic into scripture results in the Holy Spirit being powered by air, and we could ask questions like, how long is the Holy Spirit's air hose? How many cubic feet of air per minute does it take to operate a Holy Spirit. All adultery is pornea, or fornication. Fornication includes all of the unlawful sexual intercourse categories though.

One more thing, the passage that states:

Mat 5:28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

has the following meaning. The word woman is the only possible word for married woman. Adultery can ONLY happen with a woman who is already married to a different living man than yourself. That's the biblical meaning. (Note: fornication, a married man with an unmarried woman not his wife, was still a sin, but it was not adultery. he gained another wife with no possibility of divorce. If she was married to another living man, it was adultery, and they were both stoned to death.) You will notice that the word for adultery is used, which fits with the married woman part. The word for look is to intently gaze, and in this verse, it is to gaze intently while dwelling on committing adultery with her in mind. While God could have used the word for maid(unmarried) and the word fornication(pornea), and thus included premarital intercourse along with adultery in the meaning, God / Jesus did not do so. Keep n mind that this was not adultery, but committing it with her in your mind. From the passage Jesus is discussing the prerequisites for these sins, i.e. if you never sit in a room and dwell on thoughts of lust while looking at another man's wife, you will never commit adultery. If you never think certain things you will never commit murder ... In other words, this passage REQUIRES you to be in the same room. You couldn't do what is written in this passage any other way.

These are just the facts. It also explains why Solomon is never accused of committing any fornication at all. The reason is, he never committed that sin.

All this being said, whatever is not from faith is sin. If you believe playing cards is a sin, it is for you. if you believe bowling is a sin, it is. If you believe that you have to touch your nose every hour or it is sin, and you miss an hour, you sinned. That's just the way it is. What it is you believe doesn't matter. Truth or not. Even if there is no teaching at all in scripture about it, even if it is all made up, if you still believe it is sin, it is sin for you.

Hopefully this clears up a few things, and makes God / His word more consistent for you. I am quite sure that there will be some who don't want to verify all of the scriptures and meanings of words and see if what I have said is true or not, and will just want to condemn me. All I can say is, I understand. Before I did a thorough study and put everything together so that everything fit with everything else, I believed as you do now. There is a big difference between proving your beliefs true using scripture and continuously proving all things over and over again and altering your beliefs to fit what is true/good.

Hi Emeth, could you perhaps briefly summarize your points made? I feel like you said a lot here but I don't want to misrepresent your position.

Nope. First of all, God does not do horrible things to others because of our actions. Each of us is judged on our own actions...

Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Secondly, time and chance happens to us all...

Ecc 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Events happen to us.
