Hi everybody,
This is my first post here. I was looking for a place where I can ask some religious questions and here I am.
Now, back to the question. I think there is pretty much an agreement among Christians that not only (true) Christians will go to heaven but pagans too, and that includes Muslims for example. In order for them to be accepted in heaven they have to live a good life, so to speak. But now we have a problem. What exactly is "good"? For a Muslim who knows a different Jesus than Christians, "good" means obeying Muhammad's commandments which include killing people in the name of Islam. One such "good " Muslim is considered terrorist for the rest of the world. However for all he knows, he lives a good life.
Will he go to heaven?

What "Christian" is saying that pagans go to heaven? Heresy!

"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by Me." Jesus' words found in John's gospel.

Unless one accepts the salvation found in Jesus Christ, and Him alone, that one will not be in heaven. Period.

Additionally, NO ONE is "good enough" to get into heaven. That's why we need Jesus.

First, only those believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour will be with Jesus when they die!

The reason is because the Bible is clear that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

"There is no one righteous, no not one." Romans 3:10

There is no such thing as a good person without Christ!

The question then becomes, do you know Jesus Christ as your Saviour?

Jesus died for you while you were yet a sinner.

"For God demonstrates his love for us in this, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

PM me if you want to know more about what it means to be a Christian.

I have to agree with Santuzza, I don't know any "Christian" who would believe a pagan, muslim etc would go to heaven. No one can be good enough to earn salvation. The only way to go to heaven is through the Lord Jesus Christ. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4 v 12

I'm pretty sure you're going to get a lot of push-back on this one. There won't be any agreement to that statement at all. The only way to heaven is to put faith in Jesus Christ, that His shed blood at the cross is satisfactory atonement for our sins, and His resurrection is the once-for-all defeat of death that we may have eternal life, through that faith. That's the only way. There is no other.

I think it would be best to stop looking at what "theologians" say on this subject, and look directly at Scripture (which we know to be wholly true). The verses quoted earlier tell the entire picture -- Jesus is the only way to heaven, unless, of course, you can keep the Law perfectly (which NO ONE can do).

Believers born before Christ are under God's mercy, and those after Christ are under His grace.

I am curious about what is behind this question. Very very few people haven't had the opportunity to hear the gospel particularly in the west.

None of us like to put it bluntly people going to hell. It challenges me to take the opportunities God gives me to share my faith with those around me.

As to those who lived before Christ there are passages which suggest that people where looking toward to Jesus'

No...there is but one way to heaven/God's kingdom and Islam is not the one way......Jesus said, I myself AM the way, the truth and the life....literally the true and living way.....He is the door, the straight and narrow way.....To attempt any other way will lead to hell/lake of fire and an eternity seperated form God.....!

I am so excited you asked this question and gave some background. The only way to the Father is thru Y-shua and Him alone. The Bible says that all have fallen short of the glory of G-d and that glory is perfection. G-d’s standard of righteous is do not kill, do not love any other gods before Me, to love Him with all mind, soul, and strength, do not covet what, do not bare false witness, to honor my mother and father, do not steal and so on. Let’s see just in these five of the Ten Commandments I have done all of them. I have slain I don’t know how many people with my tongue, especially my parents when I have smarted off to them. G-d said He made the world in six days and on the seventh He rested. When I don’t keep the Sabbath I am barring a false witness about G-d that He did not create the world in six days and rest on the Sabbath. And in my heart I have had times where someone had something I wanted, happy for them, yes, but still a little sad for myself. And then the icing on the cake, sort of speak, I have and sadly do still love myself more than I love G-d. He or His Word will specifically tell me to do or not to do something and I do it anyway because I want to satisfy my flesh. How on earth could I ever be saved!?! I’m glad you asked when I was an 18 year old girl I shouted out to G-d and said Lord save me, I know I was a sinner in need of a Savior and I asked Y-shua to come into my heart, be my Lord and forgive me of my sin. See when I die I will stand before G-d and when He pulls out the Book of Life my name is there. I will not get into heaven based on what I have done or not have done, but I am getting into heaven based on confessing with my mouth and believing in my heart that Y-shua is my Lord and He has saved me from all unrighteousness and He has cleansed me of all my sin. Today I have different sins, in many ways than I did at 18. I don’t have premarital sex like I did back then, I don’t do drugs like I did back then. Today I do a lot of really good things, on the surface I look like a good person. But I’m still a sinner, they are just different now and He’s blood still covers me. The Bible says the heart is deceitfully wick who can know it. The difference is I don’t want to sin against my G-d, but when I do I have Y-shua!!!! There is NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN BY WHICH MAN CAN BE SAVED THEN BY Y-SHUA. If anyone dies without repenting and asking Y-shua to be their Lord they will die in their sin and go to hell. But, anyone, even a muslim, even if they are a tourist, if they call on the name of the Lord (Y-shua) and believe in their heart they will be saved. Only Y-shua is the way, the truth, and the life.

The ONLY path to heaven is thru a personal relationship with Jesus. He must be your 1st priority in life.

Who should we listen?

God who said: ”You shall not kill…”

Or Muhammad who said: “… kill the disbelievers wherever you find them…”

Muhammad is dead and will never live again. He is nothing but dust forever.

What can we expect from dust? Nothing but dust!

Really? Have you bothered to actually talk to any Christians (online or offline) to find out what we really believe? I bet the answer is NO. As others here have already mentioned, we don't get eternity with God on our own merits, but on Christ's righteousness and because of His sacrifice. Grace, not works is the key.

You do realize that without repentance and accepting Y-shua as Lord every person who rejects Him goes to hell equally right. And even if a terrorist repents they are a “who so ever”. For G-d so loved the world that who so ever believes in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life. Some of the greatest Christians in this world today are ex-muslims and ex-terrorist. Trust me I am a Jew, I am not a fan of muslims but I know that G-d wants them to come to salvation just like other mankind.
