each person's faith can only save themselves -- no one can save their own sons according to TORAH, Scripture, Yahweh and Yahshua and the apostles and the prophets.

"A hebraic definition of Torah is "a set of Instructions, from a father to his children, violation of these instructions are disciplined in order to foster obedience and train his children". Notice how the word "Torah" is translated in the New International Version translation in the following passages.

"Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching [Torah]." (Proverbs 1:8)
"My son, do not forget my teaching [Torah], but keep my commands in your heart". (Proverbs 3:1)
The purpose of a parent's Torah is to teach and bring the children to maturity. If the Torah is violated out of disrespect or defiant disobedience, the child is punished. If the child desires to follow the instructions out of a loving obedience but falls short of the expectations, the child is commended for the effort and counseled on how to perform the instructions better the next time. Unlike Torah, law is a set of rules from a government and binding on a community. Violation of the rules require punishment. With this type of law, there is no room for teaching, either the law was broken with the penalty of punishment or it was not broken. God, as our heavenly Father, gives his children his Torah in the same manner;
"Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your Torah" (Psalms 94:12)

"For (righteous by faith and in Yahweh's Declaration) Jews, acknowledgement of God is more than an internal belief or proclamation of faith; it is a commitment to act in ways that demonstrate respect for God and the world God created."

scripture quote in the correct time frame, is the difference between old and new testaments.
ie jesus christ the saviour for new covenant believers. how can you follow the old testament(torah law) with out a temple of stone, is the problem you will find trying to follow torah law.

but even new testament christian jews, believed in jesus christ. and wrote the new testament.
some how, again you have clear missed this fact,
is there a reason you miss this.

we are the new testament of 2015.
gentiles and muslims are different then. are you saying a muslim is not a gentile.

was thinking of the relation of Ac 15 to 1Co, where Paul is so clear that
eating meat sacrificed to idols is not forbidden in the NT, which could mean,
among other things, that it was not properly drained of its blood.
kosher meat, ie being among jewish people.

any ware that sell halal meat is ok then. is that what your trying to avoid, other knowing the difference.
Everything is ok, everything is clean (Ro 14:14), nothing is forbidden for food in the NT.

That is included in the "All things are clean" of Ro 14:14.
It matters not how it is prepared.

It does not defile the person.

Meats offered to idols OK?

Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, ...

Blood OK?

Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from ... blood, ...

Strangled animals?

Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from ... things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Interesting to note, same laws are mentioned three times in Rev 2.

I believe you said something to the effect that these were temporary, localized injunctions and were not to be hard and fast laws.

I think the context in these two provinces of Syria and Cilicia is offensiveness to the
many new Jewish converts there (Ac 15:21), and that these proscriptions are simply
a transitional accommodation to these Jewish sensitivities, which would gradually fade
for them over time in the new order (Heb 9:10).

I think this because Paul is clear on two points:
nothing is unclean (Ro 14:14) and
food sacrificed to idols is not forbidden (1Co 10:25-30).

However, for the sake of the weak conscience of some new Christians, and to
keep them from violating their weak consciences, the Gentile Christian is to refrain
from these practices in their presence (1Co 8:9-13).

In time, the new Jewish converts in these two provinces gradually outgrew their sensitivity
to the freedom of practices in the new order (Heb 9:10), their consciences became stronger,
the constraints were no longer necessary, and they could also live according to Ro 14:14.

Is that more clear?
So these constraints were no longer necessary?

Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

How about that part? Constraints against fornication faded away because their conscience became stronger?

You are picking, choosing and making up doctrine as you go. You are disregarding portions of scripture to make your own doctrine.

Uh, either it applies or it doesn't. You can't go through and just pick certain parts out and discard them.

whatever elin is(bot, man,woman,group, etc), is very confused and wrong. can't trust anything there, nor bother replying. there's no sense hitting your head on a brick wall with sharp glass protruding from it, or wasting pearls.....

i wish it wasn't so..... but thousands of posts by too many in error, whether in the wrong spirit or just trusting bad info i don't know, takes up more of this forum and time and space than
the few true posts.

i noticed in post 43 kenneth posting Romans 14:2. it seems a lot of people look at that word weak in the verse as a lesser, like less than, i'm not sure exactly what the word weak is saying in that verse, but i don't think it's a bad weak but a good weak. Look at Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah, they just ate vegetables. In response to the OP, i think eating or drinking blood is a bad idea.

How come clean and unclean meats aren't listed in there John?

Its the Holy Ghost who has laid no greater burden than this.

Disregarding portions of scripture to make up your own doctrine.

I never feel any twinge in my conscience for eating anything. Except on Resurrection Day when I eat lamb and drink red wine. I suppose if I put the blood on the doorposts on that day I would be fully practicing ot principles.

I would definitely feel weird about eating food that was offered to idols. I wouldn't do it. Or drink blood. Or fornicate.

Keep yourself from things strangled.

You know when you are hunting, the meat tastes much better when it is a one shot clean kill. If you shoot an animal and it runs around for awhile before dying it does something to the meat that makes it taste not as good.

I imagine an animal that is strangled exhibits this same characteristic in its meat.

john832,

Are you trying to be a Galatian?

Gal 3:1-11
3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
KJV

After being saved by grace, most of us on the forum don't want to put ourselves back under law.
