I have posted on here before about struggling with the same sin repeatedly, and for a while it had gotten better. Now I'm doing it again and again and again and every single time, I do it, feel ashamed, repent, then turn around and do it again. I know it's Satan influencing me, making me do it, helping me justify it. Then the Holy Spirit is coming into me and saying "This is wrong you shouldn't be doing it." Then the whole process starts all over again. I'm starting to feel trapped and the thing that most scares me is I may get to that point where I do it and I DON'T feel that feeling of "This is wrong you shouldn't be doing it."

Stop looking at what you are doing wrong and focus on what you are doing right. The word "repent" used by Jesus means to turn toward God. You need to make God your focus instead of the sin. The modern church has made sin the focus. That's like being in a burning house and stairing at the fire. You need to looking for the exit and leaving the fire behind. Focusing on the positive and joyful things of God will divert you into another direction.

Dear brother, change your focus to God instead of the enemy. Although he will be always ready to oppress you and tempt you, focus on God! Read the Bible, study it. Read Ephesians 6, particularly. We all sin, but to sin repeatedly it´s not good.

I´ll pray for you, brother.

May God bless you!

Why blame it on Satan? Are you still limiting God?

I blame it on Satan because I was always taught that Satan and God are both active in your life. And what makes your decisions is the one that you give in to

Satan does not fore anyone to do anything and "Flip Wilson" was full of crap....Look, if you are saved the bible states...

1. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world
2. Resist the devil and he will flee from you<--resist steadfast in the faith (system of teaching found in the bible)
3. Read Matthew 4 and the temptation of Jesus...he quoted scripture and stuck to his guns....the devil left him....

Now I will say...the devil walks around seeking whom he may devour...just make a decision to not do it dia Christ and let him empower you from on high and make your stand.......

As I read this what comes to me is. What have you done or are doing to help you defeat the enemy that is influencing you? What part do you play? Do you admit the whole Truth to GOD as you repent? Please understand I only ask to get you to search this all out not to condemn you.

We can not get over sinful ways in our own strength. What we all must do is surrender to GOD! We must deny the flesh meaning any and all things that is not of GOD. By doing this we do not tempt our own self. If one is fighting demons in order to overcome drug abuse they must remove themselves from those who do drugs, the areas in which they can obtain drugs, replace the empty space with GOD. By replacing that empty space one must Study the Bible. Feed the soul and spirit in order to Strengthen it in order to empower it to defeat the flesh. If it is a sexual sin again the same applies one must deny the flesh.

It is not that your feeling the Conviction. It is what you do when you feel it. Conviction is a reminder that GOD is with us and is always there to help us. The Bible states GOD gives us a way of escape, therefore we do not need to stay in any situation that will destroy us from being Truly Saved.

So you must make it a point to say NO! No more will I allow this to have power over me. You must speak outwardly against the thoughts first. When you get that first thought announce your defeated in the Name of JESUS and read a scripture that Strengthens you in that area. If you have a study Bible look in the back there may be a concordance there you will find topics and scriptures that help with the topic. Write them all down or better yet on your phone you may have a memo app write the scriptures down and keep it with you at all times or on the memo app.

The more you do this the better things will get but it must be done. Even if you get these thoughts and you can't act on them still read the scriptures. For instance if the thoughts occur at work still repeat this even if that means going to the restroom. But every time those thoughts come speak outwardly against it.

Find out if your Church has any programs that suits your need in anyway. Never be to ashamed to receive help! If you feel you will be judged seek it out at another church, just get the help you need and Trust GOD!!!

If possible share with someone very close to you that you can trust and ask them to keep you in Prayer speaking specifically for Strength in the area you need.

Blessings!!!!!!!

So you focus on Satan as well as God? God didn't condemn the world because of what the serpant did. He didn't condemn it for what Eve did. Adam wasn't serving Satan when he ate that fruit.

What you focus on is where you'll go. Try going with what Jesus said, instead of something someone taught you. It makes all the difference.

Matt. 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Serve Jesus, and stop worrying about the mammon. Jesus already solved Satan. Jesus's got the power. Focus on him, and stop limiting him.

You're a 16 year old kid, what do you expect of yourself? Give yourself a break. God is like a father. He understands everyone of us. There will still be lots of those sins, repetitive or not, that are coming. The trick is do not expect yourself to repel sin. Expect the Christ in you to do it.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

13 I can do all things through Christ[a] who strengthens me.

Hi Samual,

Praise God that you want to choose to walk righteously before God and no longer repeating your sins. I am not sure what you are suffering from but I can empathise with you as once a upon a time, I have been falling into the same sins over and over again. Each time I fall into that dark hole, it seems deeper and darker; making it harder to climb out. I can share with you how I work on myself.

I start off by praying to confess all the sins I've committed against God and ask Him for forgiveness. I then, surrender myself to God and ask for the Holy Spirit to guide me and lead me each day. I will then, read a chapter of the scripture a day - continuous from the previous chapter in the previous day.

I will start to look into my life to see when I will feel the urge to commit the sin. If it's because I have some extra time and that's when I commit the sin, I read the Psalms and do a paraphrase on the Psalm (one each day) to voice up my pain to God. As I go along, it helps me to build my relationship with God and slowly, I walk away from the sin. However, at times, the temptation do come back, when I realise I'm sinning again, I will pray to ask God to remove the thoughts from my mind.

Hello Samuel
In your profile it says you have been a Christian since birth and in order to destroy the body of sin you will have to first be reborn or you will end up using will-power and that will take burdensome effort.

After being reborn when GOD looks at you he will see the blood of JESUS who made an everlasting atonement for us there is now no condemnation to them that are in CHRIST JESUS but if we remain alive on this earth we should renew our minds by reading the WORD of GOD and become more and more spiritually minded.

The only authority satan has over you is the authority that you give him. He does not have authority over you.

As has been said already, stop focusing or even thinking about how satan is getting to you, but how much God is trying to get to you, and how much you need to get to Him. Spend your time in fellowship with Him, and whatever authority you think satan has over you will diminish.

I've been meaning to change that, I've been a christian for as long as I can remember but I was just baptised over the summer
