Which interpretation of God should I believe in and acknowledge so as not to perish in the afterlife?
I can recall these at this time:

•God/Jesus (Christian)
•Yahweh (Jew)
•Muhammed (Muslim)
•Jehovah (JW)

All of the above include God Father or Yahweh EXCEPT no. 3, Muhammed.

So, if you believe in God Father you will be saved.
If you're Christian, you will also believe that Jesus is God and that His sacrifice saves you.

If you're of the other two religions and have been presented with Christ and have turned Him down, you may not be saved. It's not for us to say - it's for God to say.

We can judge the actions of a person, but we cannot judge their soul.

Considering you are asking that on a Christian forum you are making it easy for us to assume you are a troll.
Or are you genuinely expecting Christians to tell you that Allah is the way to heaven?

The bible is clear: Faith in Jesus Christ is they way to salvation.

John 3.16
Acts 16.31
Eph 2:8 (2:1-10)

You know of a text that is more important than the bible?
Pray tell, what is it?

You're baiting, and I'm biting.

New here, so still learning.

Could be the Quran, the Torah... but it's not my place to say which is more important; to me, they are on even ground.

But you've inspired me to ask: what is it that led you to exalt the Bible as the religious text of all-encompassing importance? Have you found irrefutable proof of God's existence? Or were you taught by somebody you trust?

Well, since the Judeo-Christian faiths are the only foundation for reason, logic, truth, morality etc...

17 posts in over 4 years of being a member? Your not exactly prolific in your forum posts. You can believe in any interpretation you choose, or you can allow God to chose for you.

Hi Skepticalcynic

But you've inspired me to ask: what is it that led you to exalt the Bible as the religious text of all-encompassing importance

Christians do not inspire their own selves. Did you mean it is the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ that inspired you to ask seeing its His word as our source of faith?

You would have to ask your own self; what is it that led you to exalt your own conscience as the religious source of faith (not seen) of all-encompassing importance?

Christian recognize that our faithful Creator who created our conscience is greater than our conscience.

Have you found irrefutable proof of God's existence? Or were you taught by somebody you trust?

It is His Spirit that witness to our spirit. If any man has not the Spirit of Christ they simply do not belong to Him.

Whose spirit as the essence of life witness to yours ?

First time I recall seeing you with an avatar, and, wow! The avatar matches your sentence. A bit sarcastic and a lot of humor in the smile in that picture. lol

Your words were worth a real lol. The photo with the words is with a rep. (If I haven't given you one lately. lol)

Which other text? Harry Potter? Webster's Compact Rhyming Dictionary? The Complete Book of Herbs? Are you seriously expecting us to have read all the books you obviously haven't read either?

This is a silly game. What's your real point? You've supposedly been on this site for four years and posted 17 times. Don't you think it's time to get to your point, or will you wait to get to my age to get there?

Warning: Wait until you hit my age and you've wasted a long life that could have been a good life. You've already wasted four years of your own.

So, exactly when are you getting to the important questions of life, and once there, what are YOU going to do to find YOUR answers. This isn't anything but a game to you that you sometimes play for your amusement. Stupid part is it apparently doesn't even amuse you past 17 times in four years, so tell me why we should bend over backwards to help you, when it is clear you aren't even bothering to help yourself?

At least real skeptics do something with their skepticism. Well placed skepticism is a good trait. Use it!

(So says the skeptic.

Hi SkepticalCynic
So what are you skeptical?
Or cynical?

I'm willing to speak to the skeptical
But I'm not willing to speak to the cynical.

Could one be both?? I've never considered this. I don't think so. I think you have to choose.

Also, I don't think you mean the Torah, which is the first 5 books of the bible. I think you mean
the Tanakh, which would include the books of the Old Testament which are also accepted by Christians.

Your questions are very interesting. But, but by no means original. Every skeptic person wonders if Christians believe in their heart or if they're just following somebody's laws and rules. Maybe of a person, may a church.

Now, if you want to have a serious discussion, I'm willing - if you're here just to by cynical, then I'm not willing.

I'll say this quickly. People hear about God somehow. Maybe from going to church when they were little. Maybe from someone who spoke to them about God. So they have this "concept" of God. Thing is, at some point in life, one must have to decide whether or not 1) God exists 2) How to find that God.

To you all the books are on equal ground. I do not accept this. The Old Testament (Jewish) is good. The New Testament (Christian) is good. I consider the writings of Krishna as collected by Baha u llah to be of some worth. But, of course, Krishna did not say he was God, as Jesus did.

As for Muhammad, he was a man and a violent one at that. The Quran was written 700 years after Jesus died. Islam does not worship God but worships Muhammad, a man. Anyone reading this book will know immediately that it is a religion of man and goes against God and the Natural Law.

The Old Testament is valid because it shows God's plan for man and foresees the Messiah, who is Jesus Christ.

There is ONE small thing, skepticalcynic, that spearates CHRISTIANITY from all other religions:
The resurrection of Jesus Christ.

No one else was ever risen from the dead.

What you should be doing is trying to figure out whether or not the resurrection really happened. If not, go your merry way. If so, I think you would become a Christian immediately.

Most people on this thread will tell you that they had some kind of personal encounter with God through Jesus Christ.
That's why He's a personal God.

I'd like to leave you with the suggestion of reading 1 Corinthians Chapter 2 and especially 1 Corinthians 2:14-16.

I know this is circular reasoning and I'm using the bible, that you don't believe, to prove something - sorry about that, but I DO believe it!
