You can't. You can just cry out to the Saviour to save you
What about the verses that i posted where folks are asking what must we do to be saved? What must I do to inherit life?

Why would you do anything if God has not convinced you of your need to be saved?

John 16:7 ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

For the cause of Christ

You must believe in order to cry out

Crying out involves faith and repentance..

The third was aiming to get the young man to admit that he couldn't do it and cry out for help.

If they already believe why are they told to believe in the Lord to be saved? Seems redundant.

Is this one of those they believed before they actually believed things? Foundation of the world and so on?

Faith in itself is a work [of God]

Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Acts 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
Acts 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Mat 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

The last chapter of the last book in the Bible states:

Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Clearly the value of deeds cannot be underestimated. Its nice to see that the calvinists agree with me on this, atleast Tim Conway does.
Dont know how they mix it up with eternal security but i dont care, as long as the right thing is preached im cool.
Do you understand anything about a judicial system?

A judge can only punish the guilty with the penalty which is written for that crime

The guilty must pay that penalty

redemption says someone else can pay that penalty in the persons place. However, that person can not be guilty of the same crime

So I ask you. What is the penalty for sin?

Assurance of salvation? For me it is simply that I am believing right now in Jesus Christ as my Saviour.

Faith is not a Work..

The Bible clearly reveals that Faith is not a Work..

Romans 9: KJV

30"What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. {31} But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. {32} Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; {33} As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."

See how there is a clear border established between Faith and the Work ? Those doctrines that declare Faith to be a Work are clearly wrong..

Galatians 2: KJV
16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

So again the scriptures make it clear that Faith is not a Work but it is separate from Works.. So calling Faith a Work is simply unjustified..

that is no assurance, there is no assurance you will continue to believe, you must not think Christ is very trustworthy and may not be worthy of your faith in the future

I think scripture makes it clear. Whoever calls on the name of the lord will be saved, Whoever entrusts their eternity to him (has faith) will never perish, never die, live forever. Has eternal life and will be raised not he last day.

People who entrusts their lives to christ know when they were saved, I was saved over 40 years ago. Band I can remember the event like it was yesterday.
If the Scriptures make the doctrine of OSAS clear, then the Scriptures were so poorly written that no one was able to understand even the doctrine of salvation for 1,500 years; and if that is true, the New Testament was so very poorly written that it cannot possibly be the inspired Word of God but is merely junk literature written by men with extremely poor writing skills. Furthermore, if the New Testament was so very poorly written and thus so very poorly understood, we have absolutely no assurance that anyone correctly understands any of it today. Therefore, we have absolutely nothing upon which to base our Christian faith but 27 books of poorly written junk literature!

Yes. This time I know that I believe in the name of the Son of God and I know that I have eternal life (1 John 5:13).
Muslims have no less confidence of their having eternal life based upon their reading of the Qur’an than you do based upon your severe lack of understanding of the Bible.

Is it not audaciously and sinfully arrogant for anyone to think that they can understand the Greek New Testament Scriptures without being able to read them, but that no one could understand them until a renegade Roman Catholic politician came upon the scene with his cronies and “revealed” the true meaning of the Bible?

In their faith they cry out. It is instantaneous. Nothing redundant about it.

Muslims do NOT know that they have eternal life. They strive for it.

no especially with modern helps.

The fathers reveal quite clearly that they misunderstood Paul. Just as you do,

The things of God are foolishness to those who are not his, His wisdom is not our wisdom.

It is in there, Whether you can see it or not does not matter,. What matters is that it is there. Look at history, even in the time of Isreal. The few and I mean the few had truth, the masses had religion. The churhc was no better.

Muslims do not believe in eternal life. So your basic premise is flawed.

Yeah.....awesome.....let's just chunk the inspired Greek verb tense, scriptures in context, the words and promises of Jesus and elevate ourself above Jesus and trample him under our feet by our man made I keep myself saved dogma..............
