Is God's love conditional, or is it unconditional?

God is Light. God is love. God is righteous. God is holy.

He cannot therefore love unrighteousness nor an unrighteous man as he is.

That is why He chose us in Christ before the world began, and Christ was foreordained to die before the world began, so that He could love us before we were born.

Nowhere does it say He loved each individual person, except in Christ.

I understand your position. It is one of the reasons I do not share the doctrinal choice you have centered yourself on.
 
Aside fro our Lord, Jesus Christ, no one is righteous not one. God loves us even when we were in sin, otherwise no onewould be saved, for if He did not love us, even in our singful condition, He would never have given us His Lamb as propitiation for sin.

LOL you mean that the Bible has centred itself on? Eph 1.4 onwards; 2 Timothy 1.9; 1 Peter-1-2; Rom 9; John 6.37-45 among many..

God is Light comes BEFORE God is love. That love in I john He only has for His own. What He has for mankind as a whole is only a general beneficence (Matt 5.45).

God is our enemy until we are Christ's (Rom 5.10-11).,

Show me one verse, which says that He loves men who are not going to be saved other than with a general benevolence, It is to the Christian that he speaks of those beloved to God,
 
Our Father created nothing out of hatred. It is His desire that no soul should perish.

God loves us unconditionally..

Romans 5:KJV
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.


But for us to gain from His love in Eternity we must Love Him and accept His will..

God's saving love is conditioned on the Person and Work of Christ, and one being found in Christ.

God hates for a reason and he loves for a reason. A person who will not receive him and will not repent, will fall under judgement. So I believe God's love is unconditionally offered, but not automatically administered. Unconditional love presumes all are saved, but since some are not, love as it pertains to salvation, must be conditional... jmo

God's love is unconditional in that Jesus came to save the world,but conditional that only those that accept will be saved,and dwell with Him,but still unconditional for the unsaved,for they did it to themselves,but God love was still there,and God does not have pleasure in those that perish,and God is not going to take the wrap for someone missing out on salvation,for the saints will judge the world,for God will say they made it,why could not you.

So God's love is unconditional for all saved,or unsaved,for the unsaved did it to themselves,but His love was still there for them,but conditional that only the saved can dwell with Him.

To the unsaved His love was there,and He did love them,and they could of at any time turned to Him,but they did not love Him,so God's love is unconditional for all that dwell upon the earth,but the unsaved did not love Him.
 
God’s promises are conditional. For example,


John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.


The conditional action required on the part of a person to prevent him or her soul from perishing is that his or her soul must "believeth in Him".


God also loves, and He hates:


Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.


Malachi 1:1-3
1 The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.
2 I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob,
3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
 
God loves even His enemies that will go to hell, because He is also just and must punish sin. So what does it matter? Him loving you does not guarantee salvation, you loving Him does. He says if you love me you will obey My commands.

Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.


Jesus is telling these Kenite scribes and Pharisees that this is just one example of how your tradition make to none effect the Word of God. There are many other such things that you do that is just as bad in making void the Word of God. You can see now why Jesus has warned His disciples of the religious customs and practices of these Pharisees that crept in as leaven in to make void the truth of God's Word.


If you wonder how your church stacks up in accordance with the Word of God, a child can answer that for you. Is the Word of God taught in your church chapter by chapter and verse by verse, line upon line, and precept upon precept with understanding? Or do you have some super preacher that demonstrates his knowledge of the world and their traditions, standing Sunday after Sunday and never really getting around to a complete in-depth study of God's Word? He may pick up the Bible, but if it is not taught as God instructs, he is nothing but a hireling. The wolf in sheep's' clothing, standing before the flock and leading the sheep into another pasture. When you leave the service, ask yourself, What did he talk about? what was the subject, and how did he apply it to the Word? Is your teacher teaching so that you will understand, or is he putting on a show to entertain your mind? Is the Subject Christ and what is in the Word, or is it something of this world?


Stop and look at our communities today, most every corner in the community has a little church house, and the question that comes to mind is what is being taught there? Traditions or the Word of God? God looks at adultery in the same light as idolatry. Jesus bride is supposed to be faithful to Him, and when they go chasing after all the things of their traditions. they become unfaithful brides, they become nothing but whores in the eyes of God. This is said to educate you in the feelings of God's love and devotion to His own.

Yes let's look at it......God so loved the world (even the sinful who did not know him, or love him back) he gave his son....( The greatest gift in the world)...so they wouldn't perish and all they would have to do is believe.

So God first loved them, then gave, then gave again, while we were yet sinners....hhhmmmm wanna retract your statement?


Jacob sought after the blessing......Esau turned it down for a bowl of stew.
Jacob ...Israel. Esau type of the flesh.

Not at all. I'll stick with God's Word, not with man's.

I don't understand your point, it may be because I'm tired. But your genuine concern for my soul came in very clear. Yes my minister takes us book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. Aside from sermons, we also take classes on studying the bible- which is our only doctrine. We cannot go by the teachings of men nor thier traditions unless it matched what the bible teaches. I didn't get particularly what scripture you think my comment went against.
 
The point, if you will, is that our Heavenly Farther has all of the emotions that we have. His, however, are supranatural. Also, His are always righteous, while ours are often unrighteous.


For example, our righteous acts are as filthy rags to Him. That’s because He is perfect. We, on the other hand, can only become mature, never perfect, no matter how hard we try.


He loves, He hates, He’s the God of War, and so on.
