I was making that very same point to you in another thread
when you came at me with a whole slew of false accusations.
#37

Sorry those were not false accusations, you were implying things I did not even say or suggest in my post in #36

Here is my post---->>>>

How in the world you came to those conclusions from my post is totally bizarre. But it was a nice try to misrepresent my words by implying things that were not there at all. And so now we really see who was trying to bring false accusations by suggestion and falsely implying things I did not say. I can see you are no different than the others here you try to first misrepresent others words, and then falsely accuse. Have a nice day. :)

I am sorry you find answering honest questions so reprehensible to you. Conclusions? Do you really lack so much understanding that you do not recognize a question when it is put to you? A simple yes or no would have sufficed, but instead you came back with all your lies via false accusations cloaked in your agenda of dishonesty, obfuscation, blame, and deflection. You pretend to be above such things but you sin willfully and then deny it.

Unfortunately but this is one of the reasons we need to implement Romans 16:17 in these types of mindsets. There will never be any fruitful, honest, discussions but only malice and slander.

Until we see repentance there will never be any sort of real Christian character and behavior in order to have fruitful discussions where we can all learn from each other.

I must say I see no repentance, only rationalizations and justifications for outrageously dishonest behavior. Of course I understand very well where that comes from, for Jesus Christ told us that Satan is the father of all lies, and that he was a murderer from the beginning. According to the standards the other purports, it would seem he is not indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God. He does not even quote me properly, which gives him further leeway to deliberately skew what I have said.

I still wonder,
who are these people that claim to be born again believers that live in unremitting unrepentant sin? What is this willful unrepentant sin they live in every single day? Do others always know who is indwelt and who is not, who is born again, and who is not, who is repentant and who is not? I am sincerely curious about these points of discussion, and they seem quite relevant to the subject under discussion.

My belief is that the unrepentant unremitting sin is unbelief.
Oh what an agenda I had to wish to make that point!
Worthy of being repeatedly slandered for, apparently.

Blasphemy; we know it is the one and only sin that is unforgivable.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

who walk not after the flesh=walking in ongoing wilful sin :)
"who walk not after the flesh" This phrase is not found in the original manuscripts!!

[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"]What laws was God referring to when He said, “I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts”? He was certainly not referring to the Ten Commandments, known as the laws of the old covenant, since He said that He found fault with that covenant and declared it obsolete. (Hebrews 8:7–9, 13)

The laws that God puts in our minds and writes on our hearts refer to the royal law of love (Matthew 22:37–40), the perfect law of liberty (James 1:25) and the law of faith. (Romans 3:27) These are the laws of the new covenant.

You live according to the laws of the new covenant when you are conscious of how much God loves you. And the more you are conscious of His love for you, the more your heart is filled with love.

When that happens, you will love God and the people around you supernaturally and effortlessly. That is God writing on your heart the royal law of love—that we love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

Secondly, when you know that you are perfectly accepted by God because of Jesus’ sacrifice, you can have the courage and liberty as a child of God to come boldly into the presence of your heavenly Father. And in His presence, He is able to write on your heart new desires. You will find yourself wanting to do the right thing at the right time. You will live life victoriously from the inside out. This is the perfect law of liberty operating in your life.

Thirdly, when you sense what God is writing on your heart and putting in your mind, and as your faith is activated causing you to trust Him and His love for you, He calls it obeying the law of faith. When that happens, whatever you believe, you receive!

My friend, God has made it easy—and you will find that it is exciting—to live life under the new covenant!

Law of Liberty:
okay, listen, James was Jewish. He was quoting the Scripture He knew.

So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.
And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

sjns_video.jpg

Have you heard the one about how God is recording everything you say and do, and on Judgment Day he’ll show all your dark, dirty secrets on a big TV screen? It’s a frightening thought—but it’s a fiction.
God is not like that. God is love, and love keeps no record of wrongs. Not a diary, not a videotape, nothing. If he’s making a movie of your life, it’s a highlight reel, not a horror flick.
God keeps no videotapes, but we may have quite the collection. They play in the dark cinema of our minds rehashing our regrets, broadcasting our bitter memories, and showing our secret shame.
The dirty tapes of our lives cripple us. They suck the color out of our days and the sleep out of our nights. They keep us from entering the house of grace and enjoying the banquet of God’s favor.
“I cannot come in,” we say. “I’ve done some bad stuff.” And God replies, “I hold nothing against you.”
“But haven’t you seen what I did?” And God replies, “Haven’t you seen what Jesus did?”
Your videotapes don’t belong to you. Jesus purchased them with his blood. If they start playing in your head, change the channel. Look to Christ who is the star of a better movie.
“Happy are those whose wrongs are forgiven, whose sins are pardoned! Happy is the person whose sins the Lord will not keep account of!” (Romans 4:7–8, GNB)

Got this in my email this morning and wanted to share it. When I was a young Christian I was told
that there were going to be recordings of all the sins we committed and everyone would see.
It was a great day to find out that this and many other teachings we were taught were not from
the Bible.

I grew up thinking that God recorded any little sin I did with a great big X in the records of heaven. Then I needed to pray and cry and repent and confess long enough and hard enough that he would relent and forgive me!

(Actually my "belief" wasn't quite that bad - but it may as well have been)

That is the devil's technique, not our loving Father's approach to sin (in the Christian's life).

Amen. Life is so much better now that we are no longer under bondage. Walking in freedom!

I'm pretty sure inspirit thinks he is going to have a starring role in a 'this is your life' movie

can anybody guess what part he is going to play?

Yes, me too. And the more I sinned the same sin, the more tears I offered for it... trying to achieve true repentance xD

I'm so glad this burden is off our shoulders now.

When I first read Romans 6:14 (For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.) I thought it was God telling me to do something so that sin shall not have dominion over me anymore because I am under grace and not under law. How ironic is that?!

Now, I read it again, and I understand that Paul is writing, rather obviously, a fact. That now that I'm under grace, sin shall have no dominion over me. I could live the rest of my life figuring out how that works or simply believe that God is THAT powerful and gracious.

Now I can truly say, I can't boast of my own flesh for I have done nothing but only believed. Glory to God!

One caution/objection:

"When that happens, you will love God and the people around you supernaturally and effortlessly."
(1'st line of fourth paragraph from post#1)

I understand and agree that we love supernaturally - definitely - agape (love) comes only from God!
And the "effortlessly" part could be OK if you clearly clarify the meaning - but I do not think it is a good word choice at all - and I think this is the kind of language that some here object to quite vehemently!

If after we were saved then everything came effortlessly, Paul would not have had to write any practical instructions on how to live the Christian life and how to love others. Often half of the book is practical living (Eph. 4-6 for example).

I think that in actuality we do use our "own" effort in the Christian walk! Listen! Let me interpret! I am not just a robot that is suddenly if filled with an alien power and righteously love others. The new birth changes who I really am - "if any man be in Christ he is a new creature" - Before I was selfish, now I am filled with the Holy Spirit - He empowers me to be able to live righteously and above the power of sin - but it is not "effortless" - it takes everything I have - just as I gave Satan the members of my body before the new birth, I now give them to Jesus Christ - and I fight (of course, through the Spirit of God in me) for God and for His kingdom.

I Corinthians 9:24-27
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
[SUP]27 [/SUP]But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

To me this is good news - I can engage all of my faculties in the warfare for the kingdom of God!
(Yet it is not me - but Christ that worketh in me) - Paradoxical - I know!

To me, I could be wrong, but this is how I perceive what some of you are saying.

Person 1: sometimes a good person, but sins basically everyday, never given much thought to jesus. at the end, he burns in hell.

Person 2: usually a good person, but sins basically everyday. But person 2 has said, "I believe in jesus as Savior. (but shows very little difference in his lifestyle from Person1. In the end, eternal paradise.

that may be an exaggeration, but I just don't believe it works like this.

If you put it that way, it's like you can't decide if it's really you or really Christ or both.

I have come to understand that, the hardest to believe, of these three, is believing that it's all Christ. Now that's effortless in a sense that it's not you. But it takes all of you to humbly believe that it's not you at all. (Make sense?) And what Paul said, isn't it all to direct us (still) to faith in Christ's finished work?

I agree...that we "participate" in what the Lord is doing in and through us as we get our minds renewed to the truth of Christ in us - the hope of glory. The Holy Spirit transforms us.

Without Him - we can do nothing. Just as Jesus lived by the Father in Him and He did nothing on His own - it's the same for us now that we are in Christ.

..that scripture in 1 Cor. 9 - Paul is talking about his worthiness for being used by God for the service of preaching the gospel - NOT his eternal salvation. We can become disqualified for being put into service while on this earth.

Our Father Himself on the other hand has qualified us by His Son for salvation as seen in Col. 1:12. It really is "good news"!

I thought the first reference to the new covenant through Jesus was given in Genesis 3:15. "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

Isn't the 'you' in that referring to the snake (satan)? Enmity means bad feeling. Not arguing, just looking for clarification.

Maybe its the angle we come at it -- but to me the key is realizing it is "both" -- It is Christ doing the work - He is the starting point and the finishing point and everything inbetween! But it is also me working -- if I just expect things to happen because I am born again (that is - if I expect good deeds will effortlessly flow forth while I am humbly believing that it is not me :) ) I will find myself living a weak, inefficient, lukewarm Christianity.

Paul says in Ephesians 2:8-10 that we are saved by grace through faith - and then we become the "workmanship" of God. So, yes, 100% God does the work in us and through us - but I am also 100% engaged in my own faculties, will, and desires -- and at least for me this is not effortless and automatic - it takes everything that I have - and I gladly and willingly give my all for my King and Redeemer!

First two paragraphs: yes, and Amen! :)

Last two?! I thought about leaving out the "I myself should be a castaway" part of the last verse, and forgot - I wish I would have - I had no intention of bringing the OSAS issue into the discussion! :)
