Ok, without starting something mean or contentious.....I learned the other day that there are those who believe the earth is flat. I do not mock them nor discount them offhand but having been a commercial fisherman I have my doubts. If we could keep it civil I would love to debate this topic with any who hold that belief.

How do they explain air flights? The Asia's to America is something that happens over the Pacific.. what an ugly concept.. think of it, how long it would be.. can we hook up to an edge and bungee?

Well, how are they going to explain Isaiah 40:21-22, "It is He who sits above the vault of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in." That word "vault" is translated as "circle."

And then there is Job 26:10, "He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters, At the boundry of light and darkness." And as a side note as I was reading this verse I just happend to look down and read Job 26:7, "He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing." In my mind I am picturing a round Christmas tree bulb hanging there instead of something flat haging there. Just my two cents worth. :eek:

Because it is "christians" who are promoting it. More wackos and more to defend about the true faith. It is another distraction to hinder people from Christ. So, I would guess that the Lord has people who are gifted in this area to defend His word from just another set of wackos claiming christianity.

Probably because of the use of the word 'deception'. When they say governments are deceiving us saying the world is a globe they probably think, oh no, I don't want to be deceived! Lol

When there's a world of members and all joined at different times, and pulling old threads forward is frowned upon, what do we do? Be limited to the topics at hand? Can we not freely discuss?

Not just you but Ive seen this before. Why is it so bothersome, just don't click on it. Someone always has a problem with something on this Jesus loving chat site.. it blows my mind..

What is their basis for the Earth being flat?

Do they believe all planets are flat?

What Scripture supports their beliefs?

Such a thing to make a conversation out of is unbecoming of a Christian, but is something that the carnally minded, the secular, the worldly would think of as something to talk about.

Some guy just swore up and down that lens flares like the one here were pictures of the holy spirit. He argued that to no end!
