Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin.

Tempted means to me that Jesus was faced with the same type of temptations we all have been. The verse says "in every way, just as we are" yet Jesus did not sin.

Sin comes from any thought which crosses our minds that we "yield" to. The thought itself is not sin but the giving in to it. What is so difficult to understand about that?

Maybe he did, maybe He didn't. Either way, he knows what it felt like, because He had some exposure to all those emotions.. As for anger being a sin, well for US it is and that's why He tells us not to go to bed angry with anyone. However, EG explained to me that Jesus' anger was never self-motivated. But His being human and all, I thought His anger would be the same as ours. I was a bit wrong.. lol

I never said it meant that Blue. You are in denial. You said those were your thoughts, that Jesus had sin since He was angry, even though I pointed out that being angry is not a sin. You said that He probably lusted, you'd bet on the fact that He envied the prisoner who was set free etc. Why try to deny it is what you believed? What part of this are YOU not understanding???

I do not believe anger in itself is a sin. If we act on that anger, then we sin. There are plenty of things to be angry about in this evil world.

Doesn't scripture tell us to sin not if we are angry?

No one is debating that context is important, just that using context as a cover to twist the obvious meaning of such a simple verse as James 2:24 is a desperate ploy.

There is nothing in the context of the verse to suggest anything other then faith not being the sole issue on the subject of salvation. Nothing.
When you use James to say one must have or that works are part of the salvation issue, you are using it out of context....end of story....

Before God men are justified soley by faith<-Paul Romans
Before MEN the above faith is seen by works <-James

It does not say, imply or teach that works are part of the equation when it comes to being saved eternally by faith and faith alone!

Anger is NOT a sin for us if it is for the right reasons. A bit wrong? Lady, you were WAY off. Stop trying to minimize your error and blame me in the process.

His temptations are recorded in Matthew 4:1-11

Jesus was not tempted to sin as in holding back urges, like it He had this ongoing struggle with the flesh as many seem to be implying here.

1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one

Just as Satan comes after us during times of weakness, Jesus was tempted by Satan during a time of weakness not by a sin nature.

He was not tempted to commit suicide.

Then what other ways do you think He was tempted in? He WAS human, after all. He felt human emotions: sadness, joy, anger.. We know that He was tempted to commit suicide, by the devil. That if He jumped, an angel would catch Him. And on the cross, He felt every emotion possible, every pain, every situation that we find ourselves in. He felt it ALL.

So then he had thoughts of murder and rape....some are tempted with these thoughts?

I'm NOT blaming you at all. Nor am I trying to minimize my error... And anger IS a sin if it's acted upon...

He was (as the above verse says) tempted in every way we are yet without sin. This scripture stands for itself.

So if He wasn't tempted with the things mentioned here, what WAS He tempted with?

Yes, that is how he was tempted in all points like us. It doesn't mean (Hebrews 4:15) that he was tempted with sodomy, envy, murder, committing suicide et al. Also, there was nothing in him to draw him away into temptation, it is not as if he had a sin nature and had to struggle against the flesh wanting to do something sinful when tested.

For those of us who believe Jesus Christ was God Incarnated, being God in human form, Christ already knew the terrible things we humans can be tempted with. That doesn't mean He was having those same thoughts. Just saying.

Jesus did disrobed himself of glory and took upon himself the form of sinful flesh.......

For what the law couldn't do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh
