ok, I know this isn't from the bible, not even a Christian book, but I think it sums it up quite well anyway:

“May the peace of God be with you," she says, her voice low, "even in the midst of trouble."
"Why would it?" I say softly, so no one else can hear. "After all I've done..."
"It isn't about you," she says. "It is a gift. You cannot earn it, or it ceases to be a gift.”

But the Catholics also believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior, the Christ, the Son of the living God,and He is come in flesh, and they have faith to believe in the kingdom of God they cannot see,and a God they cannot see,as well as many people that do not believe God chooses who will be saved, and not saved, without their input, and nobody can say Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost.

So if that is all it takes why do they say they are wrong.

Also if people believe in the prosperity Gospel,James said, faith without works is dead,Paul said, they have erred from the faith, and John said, the love of God does not dwell in them.

Also the Bible says if any person love the world, and the things in the world, they are not of the Father.

Also the Bible says those that name the name of Christ must depart from inquity.

Also Paul said, without love he is nothing, but love does not think an evil thought, and does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.

But yet they can offend in these things and still be right with God.Strange.
None of that mentions being born again of the Holy spirit....strange post.

I pointed out that those who name the name of Christ must depart from iniquity, love people, and not material things, and money,or else they are not right with God.

I do not have to mention being born again by the Spirit at that point, for I was pointing out that many people that believe God chooses who will be saved, and not saved, wthout their input, think they are right with God,but I observe hypocrisy concerning them that would not make them right with God,so how do they justify that.

A Spirit led life can abstain from sin, because they do not want sin,and the Spirit will only lead those who want to abstain from sin.

So why the hypocrisy among them saying they are right, when the Bible says they are not right.

If they say they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God,there will be hypocrisy, but a Spirit led life will abstain from sin, because they do not want sin,so how do they explain the hypocrisy, and that they are right with God because of it.

Thst is why I did not point out being born again of the Spirit, for how did they receive the Spirit if they have hypocrisy,so I was pointing out how are they right, which when I observe them they act worldly.

How are they right if they have hypocrisy, love things of the world, material things, and money, like fleshy pleasures, and how do they have the Spirit.

I view them as worldly among many of them,so how are they right, and how are they led of the Spirit.

I am intersted to know what your thoughts are about how you are justified before God and by God.

I myself can't recall anyone on this post say it's ok to sin as a believer who has been born again.
So I can't see the hypocrisy that you claim they walk in.

Those born again of the spirit have the Holy Spirit in them and he will lead those who want to abstain and also those who will not.

He will work in them and will say "Whoa, hang on a minute, let's talk about this, let's deal with this"

If a child of God is truly born again yet has a particular sin they don't want to give he doesn't depart from them, he will chasten them

The truth is we are all going to stand before Jesus one day.

Now I am surmising here but I have placed myself in this scenario.

'Bill why should I let you in?
I find myself face down and mumbling "Got no idea why but all I've got to say is but all I've got is you and what you did for me"

I think the truth is Jesus will say "Well done good and faithful servant, you did all these for me and I will still be dumbfounded"

It would seem I did it because I did it for Jesus and know him.

As for the goats?

The basic of true faith, Christianity is not "What can we do for Jesus but it's what Jesus has done for us"

If we get that right then we then want to be like Jesus for what he has done because we truly know him, rather than do to be like him in the vain hope we get in.

Amen, our entrance to His Kingdom is based on whether we know Him, and not just "know of Him", but know in an intimate way.

How do we know Him? Well we believe that what He said He did, He did in fact do, we repent of our sins, because we agree that we are but filthy rags in need of a Savior, and we accept the Holy Spirit into our hearts, realizing that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. And we get to walk with God from that point on.

WE get to WALK with the creator of the universe. How cool is that!!

Jesus died not only to get us into Heaven, but to get God out of Heaven and into us. (in a manner of speaking)

The awesome magnificence of this simple truth, the simplicity and lack of muscle it takes to receive the same reward that a lot of believers are "working" so hard toward on steam that is of their own, frustrated by failure, overcome and suffocated by the law (not necessarily the mosaic law, but the laws of religion that have been extracted from that)

We should enter into His rest as a result of His abundant Mercy and Grace.

Let Him finish the work that He promised to finish.

Any work that I do will hopefully represent or reflect the truth that is in me.

I hear that and agree.....the works are the result of the saving faith we have in Christ and him working through us as a living sacrifice......!

not that I have already obtained it { the goal of being Christlike } or have already been made perfect , but I actively press on so that I may take hold of that { perfection } for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me his own. brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it on my own yet, but one thing I do,......

Philippians 3 12 and part of 13, amp. Bible

I am pure, holy, and righteous - peterjens. in his thread I am righteous through the work of Christ Jesus.

which one will ya'll believe??
AMEN and I agree...........

596 pages in... Can I have the tl;dr version? Thanks :)
HAHHA simple...

believers-->saved by faith and faith alone, works/fruit a result of salvation

cake takers and workers for--->saved by their works, kept saved by their works as the need to help JESUS finish what he started

Jesus is clear...

I will finish what I started
I will lose nothing the Father hath given me but will raise it up the last day
I will never leave thee nor forsake thee
Jesus is the beginner and finisher of our faith

He that believes on the son is having everlasting life
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy has he saved us

No I am saying you can be Jewish without accepting Jesus...I don't believe Jews are saved if they reject Jesus, even though they worship God the Father

...I believe in Christ there is no difference between Jew or gentile.
