Acknowledging your shortcomings that you would kill is the first step in acknowledging your need of Him not to.
1 Corinthians 10:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.[SUP]13 [/SUP]There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Just remember that Jesus came to save sinners, including the ones trying to kill you. Love your enemy to tell them the truth.
Psalm 11:5The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
Genesis 9:5.................and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.[SUP]6 [/SUP]Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
Outside of serving the armed forces and outside the policing authorities, we need to trust Jesus Christ that He will not have us tempted beyond what we are able to provide the escape or even to lead evil in passing us by.
But you all should know that believers will be killed as a testimony of His love for their enemies.
We all know where we are going, right? So trust Him as your Good Shepherd today, because hatred and wrath is a work of the flesh, and you should not believe you can be at ease to sin in that manner for whatever earthly justification you feel.
We can imagine all kinds of possibilities that would and could make us kill, but can we hope in Him that it would not come to it? By his words, He says we can. So why brag about violence that we would do in protecting others when we should seek the praise of God in that we trust Him that we would never find ourselves in a situation that would provoke us to kill, but enabled by Him to give up our lives for sinners as He had done in the hopes that one day they may believe and be saved.
This is not something that is in our flesh to do. No. That is why we are to live this reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ as we trust Him as our Good Shepherd to help us walk us through this valley of death where we shall fear no evil, for He is with us.
Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.[SUP]2 [/SUP]Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.[SUP]3 [/SUP]Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.[SUP]4 [/SUP]Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.[SUP]5 [/SUP]Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.[SUP]6 [/SUP]So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Romans 5:1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:[SUP]2 [/SUP]By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.[SUP]3 [/SUP]And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;[SUP]4 [/SUP]And patience, experience; and experience, hope:[SUP]5 [/SUP]And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.[SUP]6 [/SUP]For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.[SUP]7 [/SUP]For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.[SUP]8 [/SUP]But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.[SUP]9 [/SUP]Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.[SUP]10 [/SUP]For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.[SUP]11 [/SUP]And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
May we have Christ's love to desire that other sinners may receive the atonement as well by hearing the Good News to man.
