Okay, I'm not a druggie! I was smoking pot, because of how my mom had a heart attack and died two years after my sister died, and then of course less than one year after my mom died my grandma dies. So excuse me, for not being perfect. However if my brother or sister, confided in me about their drug addiction or what have you. I know for a fact God wouldn't want me to call them a druggie, but I get what your saying nonetheless.
Yeah I wouldn't use that language either.. :)

But indeed you did use it. However, I'm over it because I understand I don't need substances to feel better, I just need God and to obey his word.
I wouldn't use the language in real life. I assumed we were talking about a hypothetical here, or a former condition.

The word conveys a sense of permanence and helplessness which isn't the reality if the person is being transformed by the Holy Spirit.

Okay now that you've explained I understand, but it's a struggle for me to stay clean because I work with a cancer patient who smokes marijuana in order to eat, after chemo. So, personally I came here seeking words of encouragement, and I've been learning Gods word encourages me the most. So for me it wasn't hypothetical it was an actual question, statement, what have you...

And also, God has already shown me I don't need it freed me from it, but because I can humbly admit that I stumbled, thats why I asked the question. And now I know for sure life is so much better without it.

I saw that verse this morning and immediately wrote it down!
I used to smoke pot too friend.
Now I don't.

It's deceptive by nature and you deserve better for yourself.
Best wishes on kicking the habit.

Btw, if you relapse in the future, don't think your going to burn in hell for it, or be rejected by God, or anything silly like that. Just live and learn.

Trust God and He will show you a better way.

Psalm 32:8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Revelation 22:2

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

I don't believe that this means cannabis. However, I believe that cannabis oil can cure things like seizures and such, and is legal.

Where as the THC causing hallucinations isn't mentioned from what I can tell. We don't need plants to have spiritual visions, they are gifts from God.

There is a theory about cannabis oil being used in anointing oil, I found this
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/bn5z7v/did-jesus-perform-his-miracles-with-cannabis-oil

Though I know that God didn't use drugs to heal the blind and lame, etc. Still fascinating that God made this plant and to see its effects.

It's funny that you say, I literally feel like at times I'm going to burn in hell for every sin I committ or stupid little mistake I make. But I am learning, thats not true as long as I repent, and change my behavior.

I am not sure I get the point of this post.

There are many plants that are very beneficial.
There are plants that are absolutely deadly to ingest.
There are plants that can be used for medicinal purposes that can be nonetheless extremely dangerous.

Cannabis is nothing special in any way compared to the rest.

I have suffered with an addiction problem to marijuana. Mainly, because I'm from a long line of addiction. In no way am I saying I have any withdrawal symptoms. I just simply want to smoke it all the time.

I personally hear from multiple people that "God made weed", and I think okay, but how many joints do you think he smokes a day?
Greetings PerfectlyImperfect,

Something that many are not aware of is that, drugs are considered as sorcery, magic arts and that because drugs were/are used in relation to cast spells or enchantments. Today we have people using drugs for recreational purposes, but unbeknownst to them, the are engaging in sorcery.

The word "pharmakia," which is where we get our English word pharmaceutical from is translated in scripture as sorcery, magic art or witchcraft. Below is the definition of the word that is used:

pharmakeia: the use of medicine, drugs or spellsOriginal Word: φαρμακεία, ας, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: pharmakeia
Phonetic Spelling: (far-mak-i'-ah)
Short Definition: magic, sorcery, enchantment
Definition: magic, sorcery, enchantment.

HELPS Word-studies
5331 pharmakeía (from pharmakeuō, "administer drugs") – properly, drug-related sorcery, like the practice of magical-arts, etc.

"The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the works of their hands. They did not stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk. Furthermore, they did not repent of their murder, sorcery, sexual immorality, and theft.

To be honest weed in its natural form not being tampered with and laced with stuff actually has so many health benefits it's scary, it's used for diabetes for pain for people who have mental stress induced meltdowns frequently it speeds up your metabolism it helps to make your white blood cells work faster too which is why they let me smoke it when I had cancer but honestly I hate how it makes my mind feel all fuzzy and weird.

It does appear to have different affects on different people I have seen people with severe anger issues being mellow and calm and others just get lazy and really really hungry me I just get super sleepy and pass out at least I did when I smoked it once my cancer was gone there was no need to use it and honestly because of how much I hate how it makes my head feel I rarely did it anyways.
If it wasn't illegal where you live I would simply tell you that like with everything else moderation is key, I would only use it for my diabetes and maybe for pain and sleep. If something begins to take focus of your thoughts and replaces God then I would say you need to back off from it for sure but personally as long as it's done in moderation, it;'s not legal and you use it responsibly such as not being high while driving I would say it fine but only with these conditions fully met
Have you tried a ketogenic diet? If you were on it for a few months you might be able to clear your diabetes up.

I only tried cannabis once, shortly before I became a Christian. My friends at the time baked a brownie with some in it and I ate some late at night before sleeping. If I recall, I had a few images of faces in my mind periodically before going to bed so it wasn't a big deal but when I woke up my body was so relaxed it felt great, but I almost wet myself from my muscles being so relaxed. My friend at the time said that he smoked it regularly because if he didn't he'd get dreams of his dead relative and it stopped him from dreaming.

I agree, it seems to have healing properties but if it makes a person drunk and takes their thoughts away from God then it's a bad idea. I don't agree with smoking, but if any of the plant such as extracted compounds like CBD can be medically beneficial, no problem.

So, technically when I go to the doctors and they prescribe me something am I participating in witch craft?

Good news: God loves you and is working on your heart and mind to make you a new creation in Him.

Bad news: You might want to seek new friends because your old friends are likely to turn on you....the Bible warns of it:

1 Peter 4:4 ►
New International Version
They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.

New Living Translation
Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you.

English Standard Version
With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you;

Berean Study Bible
Because of this, they consider it strange of you not to plunge with them into the same flood of reckless indiscretion, and they heap abuse on you.

Berean Literal Bible
With respect to this, they think it strange of you not running with them into the same overflow of debauchery, speaking evil of you,

New American Standard Bible
In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, and they malign you;

King James Bible
Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

Am I going to hell for taking multivitamins and natural compounds?

Physicians heal people, often with drugs. There are many instances of physicians being mentioned in the bible. Faith healing is better, though. That much is certain.

That's why I'm here, seeking better friends or better advice at the very least.

Amen

1 Peter 4:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

This means getting drunk. You can drink wine, as is custom at wedding celebrations which often involve banquets. Getting drunk has been a problem for thousands of years, you just have to be careful. Stuffing your face until you're sick in noisy environments, is excess.

This doesn't mean you can't drink alcohol or eat food at a banquet.

I should add, I'm not condoning partying or anything. It's better to be sober and holy. But cheerful social gatherings are a gift from God. There is a wedding banquet in heaven for God's children, after all.

Galatians 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

I said drug use, as in smoking pot, methamphetamines, LSD, anything that you are taking to alter your being. And you are not going to Hell if you have received Christ and have repented.
