"Debate" isn't wrong,"arguing" is what leads to disaster and hardly no learning is what results, because an individual can forget their "standing" no man woman or child is God so their voice does not carry as much as God's does, but despite this "pride" of one self people naturally tend to be condescending or demeaning toward others,it's always the same story,"I'm right" "you are wrong" the problem with that attitude is that the "Truth" is God is "Right" where as "All" people are often "wrong" but give a person some favor of any sort and they may eventually just seek their "Own" knowledge above God's,give them a story they may tell everyone it is true without seeking verification,it's when we let "God" guide our actions that the "Most" understanding of his "Word" can be acquired.

Nearest I can figure its points people add to you for being a hero. I see you have two. It means when you hit 200 Rep points they issue you a pair of wings and goggles. :D
very funny but not quite accurate it's more of an"I liked what you said" type thing,it's not about "Heroes" God has been and always will be the "Only" "Hero"'of all his children.

I just realized something though. Here we are. Christians. Arguing the Gospel, debating the Gospel. But what are we supposed to be doing? Not debating the Gospel. We're supposed to be proclaiming the Gospel. Who here is doing that?

I came here to this forum and almost immediately I got sucked into this mire of disobedience too, like most of the people here. People....Please accept my apology for debating the Word. Its wrong of us and it's wrong of me to debate Gods Word. I'm sorry for that.
I see it as contending for the truth of God's word, which we are to do. The problem that we are having is that we live in that time where people will not put up with sound doctrine. But instead they gather around themselves teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They have abandoned the truth and turned aside to myths.

Paul contended/debated for the truth more than anyone. When the Galatians were being turned back to trying to obtain salvation by the works of the law, Paul corrected them in their error and rebuked them. When there were false teachers teaching that the Lord had already appeared and gathered the church, Paul comforted them and proclaimed the truth.

In these last days Satan has distorted the truth on just about every Bible topic and he has found many foot soldiers to spread these counterfeit teachings. Regarding this we should be doing the following:

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Those who know the truth of God's word should be contending for it. However, once it is evident that the person or persons that you are contending with has no desire to listen to the proof of scripture and continues to spiritualize, symbolize and distort it, then there should be a point where we should discontinue our efforts. Of this I am guilty. But at the same time I am concerned for those who are being taught the junk that is out there.

By the way,
If you are comfortable with it, many people here prefer you sign your name while making a rep comment so they know who to say thank you to :)

So if someone wanted to use soda pop and pizza for the Lord's Supper, instead of bread without yeast- which represents His body without sin, and drink pure fruit of the vine- which represents His pure life-saving blood, you would be fine with that?

Or what if someone made and sold bracelets, and said if you kiss it while thinking of Jesus, you will be saved!

There are a lot of false prophets out there teaching things that are not biblically true- which can effect a person's salvation. A true Christian needs to show them that they are following deceiving spirits who caused many branch-off churches in an attempt to keep them from the life-saving truth. It is a Christian's job to show them that they are lost and deceived, if they are willing to hear.

Arguing is wrong, but debating is not wrong, if done with love and compassion for a lost soul. Letting them skip merrily by you on their way to hell, without at least warning them, is not love, and I will not apologize for doing my Christian duty.

Pizza and soda pop would not really be a problem. They are only representing the body and blood of my Jesus. But kiss a ring? No.
We can present our case without fighting though. Diplomacy fits into sharing the Word. Diplomacy has been described as "Telling a person to go to hell in such a way as when you are finished, they are looking forward to the trip" You can tell a person how wrong they are and not offend, not hurt feelings, and not drive them away from salvation.

What if the pizza was made with flatbread crust and the soda was grape flavored?
