I'm sorry you are feeling this way. But know, you are NOT alone! Whatever mental or physical pain you are going through, first God is there!

"8 If I were to ascend to heaven, you would be there.
If I were to sprawl out in Sheol, there you would be." Psalm 139:8

Second, there are many people here who have thought about suicide or have tried to kill themselves. We may not suffer from the same problems/issues you do, but we do understand the desperation and loneliness that can drive these thoughts.

Third, mental illness can also be part of the urge to commit suicide. Regardless of the nonsense you hear about demons, mental illness can cause black thoughts, and these can often be relieved with meds and good counseling. Further, a good church community can be supportive and essential in recovering from this kind of deep depression.

I work with the mentally ill. I would be happy to speak with you about your issues. I am also a pastor, it would be confidential, and I do have experience with on-line counseling. I hope we can connect.

God does love you! We should go to heaven when HE is ready to take us, not when we make the decision. If you are in physical pain or suffering, so am I. We can talk about that, too!

Thank you for your kind words but the only issue I have with suicide is by the death of my step daughter. I myself am of sound mind and body.

The topic of suicide is sensitive to me whenever people feel the need to judge the one who committed that horrible act.

Mental illness plays a tremendous part in my honest opinion with such an act. And I truly believe no one commits that act while in their sane mind and emotions.

Only God knows where they go once that act is over. God forgives and is full of mercy both now and forever more. That 's my belief and I'm sticking to it.

Please don't take your life. About a month ago, I was planning on doing it after I got home from a doctor's appointment. Luckily, my doctor happened to walk by when I was discussing this with my Mom. He wouldn't let me go home and called for someone to come take me from the unit I was in for the appointment to the ER. Boy, was I glad he did that. I probably wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for him. I'm still in the hospital and I can assure you that things will get better. I thought they wouldn't, but they sure did! If you ever need to talk, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Samson, while chained to pillars holding up the temple of Dagon while 7000 lords of the Philistines partied and readied themselves to make sport of Samson prayed for his strength back that he might......

a. Commit suicide
b. Avenge himself
c. Kill as many Philistines as he could

God granted his request......if killing oneself under certain circumstances was a sin and or resulted in one busting hell wide open....God, in my mind and against his very nature and character would not grant such a request that leads to sin.....

And for the record....Samson makes the 11th chapter of Hebrews in the lineage of faith!

For the record mate.....don't whack yourself......a permanent solution to a temporary problem and very selfish

I'm sorry you are in pain, or maybe worse, suffering from extreme apathy.

Please do not take your life. Hell is for those who have rejected Jesus, who He is, and what He has done for you. I don't know if you have accepted Him or not.

But I DO know HE does not want you to take your life. Shouldn't that be enough to live for?

Holy Father, help this man in his struggle he is going through. Reveal yourself to Him in unmistakable ways, and let him feel Your Presence and Love. In Jesus sweet Name I pray.

Best post I've read this month! God continue to bless you with His faith and wisdom.

What a wonderful testimony and thank you for posting it. I am not contemplating ending my life. I have posted under that thread because my step daughter did commit suicide 6 years ago and it devastated her family, friends and the young son she left behind.

I posted under this thread because I firmly believe she is in heaven and finally at peace and in answer to the OP.

I am so very happy you got the help you needed at the right time you needed it. I pray for your recovery.

Once more, it is my belief that anyone contemplating or one who has committed this awful act were either mentally ill or just simply not in their right mind at that particular moment.

May God keep you under His Wings and bring you peace of mind.
