They were law centered.
Jesus broke their law.
He also was extremely ugly to them.
He also said blasphèmous things.
Of course it was true in a sense, but Jesus came to change things.
They never knew the God they represented was standing right in front of them.

Their sin is also our sin.
We have some of them in us.

Lord remove it in Jesus name!!!
The pharisees and scribes were also sinners who tolerated and participated in the peoples doings. The reason they hated Christ, was that Christ was different and apart from them, and gave them no credit for their superficial affirmation to Gods laws.

Because they had power with Romans govt. control. They simply refused to lose it even to their Messiah.

There are two places in John where the Jews wanted to kill Jesus. Both of these occur after Jesus spoke and made a claim about Himself to be GOD. The first was in John 8:58-59, and the second was in John 10:30-33.

So between exposing their hypocrisy and self righteousness with harsh words of condemnation and the claim that Jesus made about Himself (which is true - Jesus is God) that the Pharisees considered to be blasphemy, that was enough for them to get the Romans to crucify Him. Jesus was a threat to their religious system, their way of life and their power and prestige.
They were looking for any reason (a lawful excuse) to put Christ to death.
Yes, they wanted to kill Jesus when He made Himself to be God, but do you really think they cared whether someone called themself God? Do you think that maybe the scriptures which show that they knew this was the heir is true, and that this was the real reason why they wanted to kill Christ?

Christ's death was the ultimate payment for our sins. They had Him killed because they did not believe he was the true Messiah and that He spoke nothing but blasphemy. It was a very very dark time during Jesus's time, as it is now.
They accused Christ of many things.

All true. They loved their way from their father the devil, and thus hated Christs Way from God.

They accused Christ of many things.
Yes true they did, they even demanded Barrabas be set free, and he was a murderer, who was CONVICTED of his crimes. But remember what Christ said to His disciples.....If the world hate you, remember that it first hated ME.

So basically, as they hated the Way of Christ, they will also hate all who follow the Way of God rather than the way of the world.

I would like to get some specific responses as to why the Pharisees hated Christ so much.
King James Bible
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19).

I think it goes far deeper than them just being hypocrites and unfaithful, not
knowing Jesus.

I think if that had been their only problem he would just have left them to
their own sinful nature.

I think the bigger problem was that they were a stumbling block to others, so
not only were they unsaved, but they were preventing others from being saved.

They were jealous, assumed he would take their place away, and he openly rebuked and put to light and shame their false, self serving, self righteous, keep themselves saved false, anti-truth, anti-God hypocritical dogma........

They were running a pretty good money making racket,
and along comes Jesus and turns their whole worldly legalistic
religion upside down.
Try challenging the mafia or the system and see if you
can get away with it.

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye
shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in
yourselves,
neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour
widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye
shall receive the greater damnation.
15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass
sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make
him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Matthew 23:

39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world,
that they which see not might see; and that they which see might
be made blind.
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words,
and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin:
but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remains.

Many good point here. But I have to say Im not surprised the fact this was not mentioned; they made their own religious system DEVIOD OF YHWH AND HIS WAYS.

THE PHARISEES MADE THEIR OWN RELIGIOUS SYSTEM Yahshua/Jesus did not play religion their way but rather spoke, taught and acted according to the way YHWH said to with no deviation.

Mark 7:1-9, “And the Pharisees and some of the scribes assembled to Him, having come from Yerushalayim. And seeing some of His taught ones eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault. For the Pharisees, and all the Yehuḏim, do not eat unless they wash their hands thoroughly, holding fast the tradition of the elders, and coming from the market-place, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions which they have received and hold fast – the washing of cups and utensils and copper vessels and couches. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your taught ones not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands? And He answering, said to them, “Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrinethe commands of men.’ Forsaking the command of YHWH, you hold fast the tradition of men. And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the command of YHWH, in order to guard your tradition."

Mat 23:23, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you tithe the mint and the anise and the cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the Torah: the right-ruling and the compassion and the belief. These need to have been done, without neglecting the others.”

1 John 5:2-3, “By this we know that we love the children of Yah, when we love Yah and guard His commands. For this is the love for Yah, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy.”

Mat 23:4, “For they (the pharisees not YHWH) bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders, but with their finger they do not wish to move them.”

How do they “bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders, but with their finger they do not wish to move them?”

New International Version - Mat 23:2-3, "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach."

King James Bible - Mat 23:2-3, "Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not."

Shem Tob's Hebrew Mattithyah - Mat 23:2-3, "The Pharisees and Sages sit upon the seat of Mosheh. Therefore, all that he (Mosheh) says to you, diligently do, but according to their takanot (reforms) and their ma'asim (precedents) do not do, because they talk (Torah) but they do not do."

Takanot: rabbinical reforms or enactments that falsely change or add to YHWH's Law.

Ma'asim: acts or deeds that serve as precedents for rabbinic law.

Both Takanot and Ma'asim are laws of the Talmud. The Savior said this to the Pharisees;

Mat 23:8, “But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi, (master)’ for One is your Master, the Messiah, and you are all brothers.”

Matt 23:33, "Serpents! Brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of Gehenna?"

Yahshua EXPOSED the Pharisees and their false religious system EVERY CHANCE HE GOT. He did not sit by and let people lies many need to re-read the words of the Messiah, and see how He tore apart the lies of the accepted religious system of that day every chance He had, Is it possible we today have the same issue, where main stream religions are teaching tradition rather than truth?

Mat 15:3-9, “But He answering, said to them, “Why do you also transgress the command of YHWH because of your tradition? For YHWH has commanded, saying, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me has been dedicated, is certainly released from respecting his father or mother.’ So you have nullified the command of YHWH by your tradition."Hypocrites! Well did Isayah (29:13-14*) prophesy of you, saying: These people draw near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

*Isayah 29:13-14, "Therefore YHWH said: Because these people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their reverence to Me is taught by the precept of men; Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people; a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men, will be hid."

John 14:23-24, “יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me.”

John 5:43, “I have come in My Father's Name, but you do not follow Me. Let another come in his own name; him you will follow.”

John/Yahanan 7:16-17, “Yahshua answered, them, and said: My doctrine is not Mine, but His Who sent Me. If any man will do His will, he will know about this teaching, whether it comes from YHWH, or whether I am speaking of My own authority.”

Where did you say "made their own Law/religion"? I would say it is implied but not expressly written. I think a fact that important should be expressly stated and shown.

With you calling me a pharisee and lawyer very often, and myself only proclaiming that the Laws are YHWH are valid and to be obeyed I find need for clarification.

Do you agree that it is of vital importance to mention, teach and know they had their own religion not based in the "Old Testament" but based on their own ways?

As many people to seem to think that the Pharisees problem was "they kept that darned old law" Which they did not. While none here have stated that, do not many people/Christians think and teach that?
