I am all for, and somewhat about exposing cults and heresies. So many threads however don't even title the thread about a cult or heresy, but are filled with postings about them anyway. Sometimes they are pertinent, appropriate or Germain, sometimes they are not. At any rate, a collection of such important revelations would be useful and minimize if not eliminate the need for re-posting. Excerpts and Link references would be/are useful as a way of making a point in the threads. You can add to your ministry power by contributing your articles and research to a select few of these CultWatch Web Sites, and referencing them from here. The power to overcome "Strongholds" (of deception, deceit, Logical Fallacies, Defense Mechanisms, Cults and Heresies) however, lies in the power of the Gospel and the New Testament Way.

Cultwatch.com Link -->> CULTWATCH is one popular site. They have links to other sites that they think might be useful (see below). They also post an email address [General Email: Link -->> [email protected] ] where you may contact them (send them all your links and stories that you have researched). They also have a DOCTRINAL STATEMENT, Reprinted Below:

Cultwatch Doctrinal Statement
Here is a summary of what we believe.

Remember, always beware of any group that will not tell you openly and up front what they believe.

  1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be directly inspired by God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they alone are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
  2. We believe in one God who is Creator of Heaven and Earth; who is Spirit, light, love, and truth, eternal, almighty, infallible and unchangeable, infinitely wise, just, and holy; and that God eternally exists in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, the Eternal Word manifested in flesh. We believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true man.
  4. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.
  5. We believe that our Lord arose from the dead, according to the Scriptures, and in the same body, though glorified, in which He had lived and died, and that His resurrection body is the pattern of that body which, at the return of Christ, will be given to all resurrected believers.
  6. We believe that our Lord ascended to Heaven, was seated at His Father's right hand, assuring us of the perfection of His work of redemption, and that He now, as head over all things to the Church, is engaged on behalf of the saved as Intercessor and Advocate.
  7. We believe that man was originally created in the image and after the likeness of God, and that he fell through sin; and, as a consequence of his sin, lost his spiritual life, becoming dead in trespasses and sins, and that he became subject to the power of the devil. We also believe that this spiritual death, or total depravity of human nature, has been transmitted to the entire human race, the Man Jesus Christ being excepted; and hence all people are born into the world with a nature that has been corrupted in body, mind, and soul.
  8. We believe that all who receive by faith, Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and who confess Him as such before their fellow men, are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
  9. We believe that the Holy Spirit, being the Third Person of the Godhead, convicts men of sin, regenerates, indwells, baptises, seals, and sets believers apart to a holy life; that He keeps and empowers believers day by day. We believe that He is the Teacher of the Word of God and our Guide for daily life.
  10. We believe in the eternal security and everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the eternal conscious punishment of the lost. [oops, hope that's not OSAS, D.A._316]
  11. We believe that Christ instituted the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, to be observed until He comes. [and you have no idea about marriage and divorce??, Confession of Sins, etc. D.A._316]
  12. We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is composed solely of those who have been redeemed and washed in His Blood, regenerated and sealed by the Holy Spirit, and that they are saved to worship and to serve; that it is the responsibility and privilege of all who are saved to seek to win others to Christ, to the "uttermost part of Earth;" that they should seek to live a holy life, to separate themselves from and forsake all that might dishonour God, cast discredit on His cause, or weaken their testimony.
  13. We believe there is a personal devil, a being of great and cunning power who is "The prince and power of the air," "The prince of this world," "The god of this age." We believe that he can exert vast power but only as God permits him to do so; that he shall ultimately be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone and shall be tormented day and night forever.
Thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ who has made all of this possible.

I added the suggestion to add a CULT WATCH FORUM

Link -->> Cult Watch Forum
I used to be Jehovah's Witness before becoming Mormon, and now I'm just me and looking for a bible believing group to fellowship with.

Needless to say I've been to a few of those cult watch website and would add my voice to a forum and provide information about both groups that could help bring more of them out of their number and to Jesus Christ.

* It doesn't take long to say what needs to be said does it :) . I address every statement
and issue with researched responses and reference my sources. The idea of the
suggestion to make CULTS AND HERESIES the subject of their own forum is to bring order
to the discussion and keep BIBLE DISCUSSION FORUM for just that purpose, not to confuse
and confound or to place Red Herrings along the path of scriptural truths. I reference the
teachers and preachers you do, either accepting their doctrines, refuting or clarifying
them, and have taken Sproul, Calvin, Spurgeon, Warfield and such like to the mat is it
relates to sound doctrine.

Zone said: what's my name doing in your post DA?
* Your name is on the thread because you are a major contributor to Threads and Posts
relating to cults. It certainly has a place -- that place is it's own forum - hence the
suggestion. One could make a ministry out of addressing the many cults and heresies
and false teachers and false religions -- many have done just that. In order to do so
properly, Biblically, one needs to have a Doctrine which they can stand on to come up
against such heresies -- The BIBLE DISCUSSION Forum is the proper place for that. I don't
see that you have a sound doctrine to discuss at this time, or that you have many ... all
inter-mixed, all confused, all wrong ...

Zone said: get on with your own business.
* This is my business

Zone said: in one year we'll see what your post count is. and if you're making any more
sense than you are right now.

* I don't need a year and mega-posts to say what needs to be said. I am simply
suggesting organizing the numerous Threads and Posts relating to the lone topic of CULTS
and HERESIES to their own forum, just as there are separate forums for RECIPES and
SUGGESTIONS, etc.. Post Count doesn't get one points, it's a Logical Fallacy
-- hard to get you past those. There is no Thread or Post where you have been able to
challenge the doctrines and assertions I have made - not one.

* Join the concept of placing discussion of CULTS and HERESIES in
their own forum, and keeping BIBLE DISCUSSION for that purpose.
It will help all the discussions.

* These are the Threads or Topics I am discussing in The BIBLE DISCUSSION FORUM:

You ask the question are we a cult group, I ask you Digital Angel, are you stoned?
The question stated was - IS CHRISTIAN CHAT.COM A CULT WATCH WEB SITE?

I learned to read before the first grade, how about you? I would not feel so all alone ...
everybody must get stoned ... (old song)

Maybe all the references to CULTWATCH.COM and the opening statement of:
A Google search for "Cult Watch Websites" threw you off a bit.

This is not asking if this is a cult group, it is asking if it's ministry in
BIBLE DISCUSSION is 'Cult Watch', rather than Bible Discussion,
and a suggestion to add a forum for particular discussion on Cults
and Heresies in order to keep Bible Discussion, more about -- well --
BIBLE DISCUSSION.

DA no one would read that forum. most ignore the posting on cults in the Bible discussion forums already, so what purpose would another forum serve? there are already threads. the forum titles are not always accurate. they discuss the bible in the teen forum and other forums too. it is just a vague guideline with topics that often get sidetracked.

you're trying to herd kittens DA, not gonna happen. once one gets caught another wanders out of the box...
