It's ok, sometimes I forget about people too, no need to hang your head. What would you do without a head?

find a job as a headless horseman at a theme park. The theme is happiness.

J R Rowling is evil. Harry Potter is not for born again christians.
I know i am no ones judge, but we can know them by their fruit, and i will seriously doubt the christianity of anyone who is in the Harry Potter ect...

ok well im not 'obsessed' with harry potter but i take care of kids alot and end up seeing it by osmosis, and i donttt think its evil to watch.

yes, the bible says we should not be involved in witchcraft. but watching the movies alone is not involving yourself in witchcraft.
the bible also says we should not be involved in murder, or gossip. does this mean watching movies with murder and gossip in them counts as participating in those too? because if it does id be willing to bet the vast majority of us are now murderers for indulging in a scary movie- or even law and order episode- once in awhile.

since harry potter is for mere entertainment, saying it is is evil is making a much larger claim if you wish to be consistent in your principles: Any movie that portrays any type of sin whatsoever is evil.

on the other hand, if witchcraft is a particular stumbling block for you, by all means don't watch it. but in general, it is fantasy. thats all.

but im sorry you feel that way =( hope my response didn't offend you or make you think im evil.

on a side note, the name harry in itself does sound evil to me. lose the friend, sam. people with the name harry have been known to garden demon plants.
well some people can drink alcohol all their life and never be an alcoholic but some can be come one with thier very first drink, yeah You are strong enough not to fall into witchcraft but what about the kids you are encouraging to watch harry, do you know they are strong enough??????? couldn't it be just as easy to pop in A bible story movie ??????

^having not read any posts cuz they got off topic^ lol

*laughs at people who thinks harry potter is going to send them to hell* it's up to you what you read... if u can handle reading fantasy without getting so sucked in you start trying witchcraft... then go for it. :) i for one LOVE the chronicles of narnia, harry potter *gasp* and yes, even the twilight saga. I have been known to read such books as Stardust, the Lord of the Rings, and watch the movies accordingly. Am I a Christian? YES. Am I going to start practicing witchcraft? NO. lol I think anyone who thinks otherwise is silly. Most people can distinguish fantasy from reality... but if they cant, then maybe then they should stay away from harry potter and the like. (still doesn't make it evil) i dont think a work of literature can be evil in itself, it's all about how those interpret that literature and the people who use it for evil. *shrugs* i am done. :p

Going back to the topic, I think Thaddaeus has a good question here. One thing is you deciding to read or see that kind of material, but what happens when you have an influence on kids.

I too experience this "trauma"... in single word seeds planted in my heart. though I think of it as guidance. repetitive subliminals are everywhere and its takes God's guidance for people like us to avoid negative spiritual influence.

yeah ok there is going to be alot of folks that go to hell but I don't think it will be something to laugh at:Mt 7:20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.Mt 7:21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.Mt 7:22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?Mt 7:23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Ga 5:19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,Ga 5:20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,Ga 5:21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
go ahead tell little children that you think, harry is kool, let them fall into it. their Blood will be on your hands .

I just skimmed through this and what I watch/read/listen to etc., has been on my mind lately. We could go on and on about why it's bad or isn't bad to read Harry Potter books. Without going into all that you should think to yourself all the forms of childhood entertainment that involve magic and/or fantasy. Do you think these are wrong? I'm not implying anything either way, I'm just mentioning that if you're going to make such statements that imply that any Christian who does____(Insert form of entertainment/media/anything that can be consumed in anyway) is either not really a Christian or isn't a "good" Christian, you should examine yourself and what you do first. I think you'll find that there's a lot that you need to examine before you make such brash judgments.

When I discuss with people my thoughts (that I've had very recently actually) about listening to certain types of music and being involved in things of the world I don't make a judgment or say "well if you listen to that song you're a HEATHEN, be gone!." The idea of these discussions is find out how we can be the most Christlike and glorify God in this fallen world recognizing our weaknesses. When we discuss with others it should be not to condemn, not to judge, but to HELP them. When we judge and/or condemn people, it tends to be out of weakness and insecurity and most of us, if not all, are guilty of it. It's one thing to point out sin that is explicit in the Bible, or even if we're pretty sure that one's behavior isn't Christilike. That said, correction out of love is a lot different than judgment. Who are you to tell someone they're not a good enough Christian?

With all the above said, I have read the Harry Potter books and I simply saw them as fantasy. Nonetheless, I can see the argument for not reading them.

Matthew 7:1
