Christians have destroyed
GOD’s benevolent Doctrine
and themselves.

People from other religions understand the Bible more than Christians.

The first Christians, like the Apostles,
who are our Spiritual Fathers, were martyrs.

Today we are crybabies,
looking for someone to protect us and what we believe.

Very transparent...

Even if we argue, let us remain sensible, well meaning, Christians...

Rom.15
[2] Let every one of us please his neighbor,
to (his) edification,
for his good,

pot..............................kettle ?

I seriously doubt that people from other Religions understand the Word of God better than those who choose to serve Him and spend their lives IN HIS WORD..........do you have any evidence to support this claim? Not ALL of the first Christians were martyrs in the sense that they were murdered for their faith/belief. Another untrue statement..........

As for "crybabies," speak for yourself.........If God be for us, who can be against us. I stand ready to defend the Faith with whatever means necessary.

Take a look at a sample of muslim understanding of the New Testament taken from this very christian forum (!!!), from the thread "New Muslim":

Let us see what Jesus peace be upon him said about adultery:
The following Verses are from the NIV Bible:
Matthew 19:9 "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery." Wouldn't this cause the man to be put to death?
Mark 10:11 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her." Again, wouldn't he then be put to death since he would have committed adultery?
Mark 10:12 "And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery." Same question I ask about the women who are considered have committed adultery. Wouldn't they be put to death also?
Luke 16:18 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."
My question here is: Would an adulterer in the New Testament be put to death?
Keep in mind that when Jesus gave the above laws, he gave them during the time when he spoke highly of the Old Testament's Law:
Jesus orders Christians to follow the Old Testament's laws: "Do not think that I [Jesus] have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17-18)" It is quite clear from these verses from the New Testament that Jesus peace be upon him did honor the Old Testament and did say that every single "letter" of it has to be honored, followed and fulfilled.
"Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 'The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.' (Matthew 23:1-3)" We clearly see in these verses that Jesus peace be upon him did not prohibit for the Old Testament to be followed, but only warned his followers to not follow it the way the current religious leaders of the Law (the Jewish Rabies) were following it.
So according to Jesus peace be upon him, the adulterer in the New Testament must be put to death.

I think you are being deceived and believing a lie but that's just my sense of things from the statements you make and the questions you ask. There is also a bit of defiance and self pity in the tone of things you post. Just saying.

What kind of sick, twisted, disturbed mind does one must have in order to conclude that "according to Jesus Christ the adulterer must be put to death"?

Exactly! Which is why I don't agree with the opener and do not believe that people from other religions understand better the Word of God.
In post nr. 3 I copy-pasted from the thread "New Muslim" the words of a muslim man (!!!).

I think that Christians are just hurting from all of the intolerance and misunderstanding in today's world. I don't feel that I am a crybaby and I ask for God's protection only and not to rely on other's as they have their own cross to bear. While I do pray for protection for myself and other's , for me personally, I do not want a hedge placed around me from the trials and tribulations as that would hinder my spiritual growth and maturity as a man of God. A season of rest would be welcome though, in my life and for those of others as well.

Uh, Paul said...

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Unrepentant sinners are put to death for all eternity

.Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Don't confuse mercy with bleeding heart liberalism.

There is justice and unrepentant sinners, whether adultery or whatever, will be put to death for all eternity.

John832,

What does your comment have to do with what I've said?

John832,

What does your comment have to do with what I've said?
God puts to death those who willfully sin including adultery...

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Uh, I believe in forgiveness and mercy, but not for those who willfully and continually sin. I read that here...

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

and here...

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

God is loving and kind and merciful, but does not tolerate sin. It is not OK to kill or commit adultery or lie even though society today is too kind and loving to punish evil-doers. God will.

What do you think? We should just tell Boco Haram "Please let the girls go and don't do those things again." We won't punish you for ruining their lives, we are just sweet loving people.

To the OP,

I would rather say (from personal observation), many Christians today are Bible literate but not doer of the Word (in deeds). A lot of Christians I observed will preach and go on debating many doctrinal issues throwing (or twisting) at length the scriptures at each other to defend their position (which of course is not altogether wrong in itself) but alas! many failed to practice what they preached in their everyday life. Sad but that's the tragedy of Christians today (IMO):(

Contd:

If only more Christians would walk the talk (gospel) in our everyday living, then am sure not only God would be way please with us, but the gospel would be more effective in reaching out to the un-reach (souls).

Ms. sanglina:

This is so true.

John's First Epistle speaks about the link between walking in the light and fellowship with one another and with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

The opposite perspective is true also: no walking in the light, no true fellowship either.

Absolutely! The greatest commandment is Love. Real Love, True Love, Agape Love = Father, Son, & Holy Ghost! When we get this we will do better.

Again, John's First Epistle speaks of the Trinity and love and how a knowledge of divine love deeply affects us.

[19] Wherefore, my beloved brethren,
let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak,
slow to wrath:
[20] For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of GOD.

If you know how to progress then please provide some help.
Paul spoke of 'verity' and not blind faith.
Thank you.
