THe law shows Gods moral perfection. Unfortunately no man could keep it. IT was ten simple rules. But no man under the sun could could keep it. No man could stand before God and say I have kept your law and obeyed it to the fullest. Not even His chosen people. Even after being saved from Egypt the sought the advice of Baal and the Ashtaroth. Even after God killed 185,000 thousand Syrians of trained war, without Hezekiah lifting a sword. Even after Jesus said "it is finished" we still look to what flesh can do. If you read 2 Samuel you will see the war between flesh and Spirit. If you read Romans you will see the war between flesh and Spirit. The sin nature is ever prevalent in us and the only way to overcome is faith placed in the cross and nothing else. Not your good works, not keeping Sabbath, not tithing, not fasting, not forty days of puropose, not cleaning parks or giving clothes to the homeless. It is by faith in the cross, Yet with our faith in the cross we will feed the hungry and clothe the naked, these are the fruits of faith in the cross. The fruit does not abolish the means, The means is the cross.

Maybe we should discuss the tree of life or Melchizedek or how Goliath was the last of the seed of fallen angels. But, please don't mention the cross.

I understand your frustration. All things are superstition today.

Very true. We must have faith that He will complete his work in us.

The Law still holds a special place in my heart. It too was a sign of love in its time. Praise God it has been fulfilled.

The law is good it was given by God. Yet, Paul said when I looked the law I died. The only way to attempt to keep the law by faith in the cross. That is my message, the message of the cross. Paul said I preach nothing but Christ and Him crucified. At Athens he tried to match wits with the educated and he himself taught at the university of Taurus and at the feet of Gamaliel. He tried to match wits with the students of Plato and Homer. There is no mention of a church established there. Yet He went to Corinth and said I have determined to know nothing among save Christ and Him crucified and a great church was established. You put two and two together. Preach the wisdom of men or Christ and Him crucified?

Does this mean Jesus dying for our sins? If so I too am a fan of the cross.
Jesus' love is so amazing to die so we may live!

The law may be impossible to keep but it is very precious still. back in the Ot it condemned but now thanks to Jesus if looked at in the right perspective it is a wonderful Gift. but why not mention the cross? It should be mentioned a lot more because of what Jesus did correct?

Christ was the chief focus, for it is only through Christ that man is saved. But He also emphasized declaring the "whole purpose of God." (Acts 20:27) Taught the Word exhaustively. One of the many values of the Epistles themselves is perspective on the whole of Scripture. Of course Christ dominates, but there is more value attached to the scripture than what one hears during an Evangelistic crusade.

My friend and brother the cross is our only hope, Imagine being in OT times and if you sinned and most assuredly you would. Say you lived in Beer Sheba and the tabernacle was in Dedan. Not only would you have to travel a weeks journey and obtain a lamb that was without spot or blemish and if the the priest after skinning the lamb saw a discoloration, he would say to you get another lamb cause this one will not do. Thank God that Jesus is our lamb with out spot or blemish and our only hope against the sin nature.

The Cross is indeed the foundational truth by which we are saved. but God did not stop at the cross. In the Sanctuary which showed the whole plan of salvation. The cross is the first part seen in the Altar of sacrifice. but there is more after that. and all that comes after is possible because of the cross.

The problem is most people ignore everything that comes after and think thats ok.

Stop making the cross an idol, it was Jesus that paid the price, not the tree he laid himself down on.

The boys down in Baton Rouge Louisiana, keep making the cross an idol as well.

Man, what is it with so many people, READ your Bible, the sin nature holds no power over you anymore, hello!
Why is it so many feel compelled to stay nailed on their own cross with Jesus! I prefer to sit at the right hand with him....

The cross is everything, without the cross there is nothing. A house is in the cross , a car is in the cross, eternal life is in the cross, Your need is met in the cross and not what you can do, What can you do, feed the poor, do not the wicked do that as well, clothe the naked, don not the wicked do that also? what is it that you can do to stand before God as righteous. The only thing you can do is have faithh in the work of the cross and nothing else. It is the only thing that God will accept.

Sorry but John 14.6 and in red says:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He did not say

Jesus saith unto him, THE CROSS is the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by the CROSS.

What can we do to stand before God has Righteousness!?!?

2 Cor 5.17-21 says:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
[SUP]19 [/SUP]To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

It was Christ that made us roghteouss before God, not the tree..
