THe law shows Gods moral perfection. Unfortunately no man could keep it. IT was ten simple rules. But no man under the sun could could keep it. No man could stand before God and say I have kept your law and obeyed it to the fullest. Not even His chosen people. Even after being saved from Egypt the sought the advice of Baal and the Ashtaroth. Even after God killed 185,000 thousand Syrians of trained war, without Hezekiah lifting a sword. Even after Jesus said "it is finished" we still look to what flesh can do. If you read 2 Samuel you will see the war between flesh and Spirit. If you read Romans you will see the war between flesh and Spirit. The sin nature is ever prevalent in us and the only way to overcome is faith placed in the cross and nothing else. Not your good works, not keeping Sabbath, not tithing, not fasting, not forty days of puropose, not cleaning parks or giving clothes to the homeless. It is by faith in the cross, Yet with our faith in the cross we will feed the hungry and clothe the naked, these are the fruits of faith in the cross. The fruit does not abolish the means, The means is the cross.
GOD is PERSONALLY with us who are with his BELOVED Son , his BELOVED Apostles
and his BELOVED Prophets.

Jump in :)

No one ever said the cross is our salvation, so getting our feathers ruffled about people preaching about it is meaningless. The cross is an amazing thing because it symbolizes Jesus sacrifice, love and willingness to go through great unbearable suffering for us. this is why you ser the cross on churches and necklaces. no one worships the cross, they see the cross think of Jesus and are reminded of all he did

The cross allows you to keep the law

very simple

Jesus is given the right, by dying for you, to fill you with divine power and give you law keeping power.
They go together.
And you fall in love with him each day more and more

like a bride falling in love with husband.

Letting Jesus die on the cross and then ignoring the law

is like a woman getting married so her husband can support her other boyfriends, it doesnt work that way.

If you love Jesus you will keep all the laws in his word with all your heart

if you dont love him but are just trying to excape punishment you will say you dont have to keep the law.

like a Boy who his father askes to mow the lawn
He says, I am born into this family and am guaranteed an inheritance so I dont have to do nothing!

right.......
Wont he be surprised.

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Galatians 6:14 KJV

Nope , sorry Jesus Fulfilled the law, he did not work along side it:

Matt 5.17 says
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Honestly this is the most confusing thread I have ever seen or read... The cross whatever it is, can not compete with The Law handed down by God to Moses for that is Biblical text. The cross is only mentioned in The Bible as a piece of wood Jesus carried when He sacrificed to free us of sin.

Now Christ is the answer, by following His teachings you will follow the what God has asked.
as for the cross... It's wood that's all

If the word cross in this thread is code for God's love and Jesus' sacrifice then that is different but since no one is willing to tell me what the word is a metaphor for its simply wood to me nothing more

The cross allows you by grace to keep the law

Fulfill means to magnify it

you need to read the next verse

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

heaven is still here and the earth is still hear

fulfill means to guard it and proclaim it
it is the law we need to keep by grace

I get that but what are you challenging them with?

I read everything you say and just don't get what the "cross" is
please just explain what the word means like when you say cross can I replace that with Jesus?

I don't understand why there is a secret code that's not taught in The Bible

I mean no disrespect but how can a young Christian learn if no will give an explanation... You can't explain what the cross is by saying the cross is the answer and things like that. It makes no sense. Is the cross representative of God His love and sacrifice?

I think the Law keepers as you call them may be easier convinced if you spoke clearly.

Or possibly I'm just ignorant

BELIEVE GOD'S WORD!!! ROMANS 6:14-15==For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!==ROMANS 7:6==But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

I think the common vernacular on the cross means self sacrificing love
That is how I take it.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Luke 9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
Luke 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

My dear sister and praise God that you are interested in the things of God at 15. My sister the cross is everything. When I say the cross, I do not speak of the wooden beam, but the work that was performed on it by Christ. Christ took all our sins and hung them on the cross. The law called for a lamb without spot or blemish to atone for your sin. It only atoned and did not remove it. The cross removes the sin and your faith in the work of the cross gives you the free gift of righteousness and eternal life. There is nothing else that you can do. No matter how good you are, no matter if you went to church everyday of your life, no matter if you don't work on the Sabbath, no matter if you give your bread to the poor. It is only by faith in the cross, do you understand?
