I'm just curious to this communities thoughts on this. If the world doesn't cease to exist in the next 20-50 years, we will be colonizing space. Does the Bible have any dialogue for space colonization?

yeah it does actually.

1. the world will almost destroy itself. Jesus will return before this happens.
2. There will be 1000 years of a personal reign of Christ himself.
3. After this. One final battle. then this world will be destroyed and a new heaven and new earth created.

Based upon current happenings around the globe I don't think you will have to worry about it and I have never seen anything about us colonizing planets and or moons unless you are a Mormon and they are heretical in their beliefs so.........

I didn't think about that in relation to space colonization. Kudos.

God has established the earth forever, it will never cease to exist. Jesus could return with in 5 yrs and that will be the rapture and wrath for the world, then Jesus returns in 3 and a half yrs, to rule for 1'000 yrs. the, the new heavens and new earth. Soo, forget about space travel, not time for that . Love to all, Hoffco

Don't believe it will happen as there is no mandate except over the earth.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
(Gen 1:27-30)

Although this all may be a sign we are close to the final curtain.

HAH and Like I said....haven't seen anything about us colonizing moons or planets so even if the end of the age doesn't happen it still seems unlikely based upon scriptures....

God created this earth and the heavens, too, so I can't see that it makes a bit of difference.

God said to put my faith and trust in Him, it was what counted. I've checked on the Lord to see if what He says in scripture about our world here works out, and every time, it does. So however it all is done I know God's way will win and I can trust it.

This I totally agree with. I'm a bit disappointed other people don't seem to portray that thought.

70,000 applicants trying to colonize Mars has no inclination of space colonization?

Considering it's such a vast amount of people, I imagine many are Christian as well.

Lol vast? 70,000 out of 7.5+ billion? Once we realise hard it is for a person to live on a foreign planet I think that number will change :P

the heavens, not the earth alone, declare the glory of God.

what role has the Lord played in the building of any city?

He created the mud that formed the bricks, and He created the hands that formed them and laid them on top of one another. He also made the dry land, and the oceans, and the void and every planet also belong to Him.

Let's not forget He created the intelligence to understand these applications.

Colonization means establishing self contained, self sufficient, dwelling units.
A long oxygen supply tube to earth, and babies wearing space helmets?

Just like people assumed there was no reason to traverse the seas centuries ago because there were so many hardships... It was only a few thousand people signing up for those adventures though.

We can create structures that grow plants, and plants can thrive in space.
