No, I'm not joking. Yes, nothing registered. I asked you to explain it to me. And yes I am a 16 year old insufferable maggot.
You're not then old enough to qualify as a maggot, much less an insufferable one. You still have hope!

The joke is women are known for always talking, no silence around women: they never shut up? (Don't blame me, at least to the extent that really was Jack Van Impe who told that joke.)

In the book of Corinthians, it mentions that women should not speak in the church. Do you believe this is correct? Does this mean that a woman cannot lead a service? does this mean that a woman cannot ask a public question in church? what do you guys think? The verse is...

1 Corinthians 14: 34-35
[SUP]34 [/SUP]Let your[SUP][d][/SUP] women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. [SUP]35 [/SUP]And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.

Thanks,
Andres
Woman is symbolic for weakness, and if someone that is weak, shouldn't lead. like for an instance, Jimmy Swaggart has shown weakness and imagine how many of his followers had left his flock? Before someone becomes a leader, they should make sure that they have self control, and so that they can teach others how to struggle with their demons and win. But the scriptures clearly says that it going to be a time when our sons and daughters will prophecy, and which makes them a prophets; and its says that God look at the inward appearance of a person, not the outer as we look at.

Women are to be silent when in the church. At home, in the marketplace, anywhere else, she can speak, she can pray, she can prophesy. 1 Cor 11 doesn't mention anything about being in the church for things like covering your head or prophesy for women. It just speaks about these things in a general perspective. 1 Cor 14 however does talk about being in the church. If we deduct that women in the churches cannot speak or teach or preach from 1 Cor 14, then to bring harmony to God's word, to keep it in order by dividing the scriptures correctly, we can deduct that women outside of church do not have to be silent, because at home she can asks her husband questions. She can pray and she can prophesy, but in a church setting she cannot speak, so to make it uncontradictory and bring harmony to God's word, we should apply women being able to do things that aren't in a church setting. This is my take on it.
i already did. just scroll up and find where i talk about it.
Seems that the burden of proof is on you that 1Cor 11:5 does not apply when in Church.....

1 Corinthians 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

Besides, what constitues 'in Church' but when believers gather in His name?

Yes, during the worship service women should remain silent except for singing. But if you have a bible class I think it is OK for women to participate in the conversation because it is OK to speak to a man outside of the worship service. Besides some women can't go home and ask their husbands because they have no husband. I don't think it's fair for a christian to not be able to ever talk about the most exciting thing in her life- God.

Read verse 2 in this chapter, he says keep these traditions ( they are not commandments from God ).
Then when you go to verse 16 after it goes through the issue of women with their head covered, or a man having long hair.
( They were posed as questions in verses 13-15 and 16 gives the answer )

1 Corinthians 11:16

But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.

Looking up the lexicon on the word used for woman, it is the the same used for wife. In 1 Timothy 2:11-12 there are variations in this word that may indicate a differentiation. I am not 100% certain that women should be submissive to men as I am that a wife should be to her husband. Why translate two different meanings from the same word used. Is it women should be submissive to men or is it rather wives should be submissive to husbands? It seems that women should be submissive to men because wives are under the authority of her husband be twisting the intention of the scripture a bit. But then I may be partial to the concept of women's equity.

off topic from the OP and just a comment, since you brought it up.

Jimmy Swaggert should not be in ministry period today IMHO. He refused to let he Assembly Of God restore him, because he would not lay down his ministry for the required 2 year restoring process. SO the AG deforkce dhim and he went on his own way and now his ministry is nothing mroe than rabid pride. It was pride that kept Swaggert from allowing anyone correct or restore him. This issue and the fact he cannot get Jesus Christ off the cross and doe snot beleive in the pwoer of the ressurection keep me awy from him, his son and now his grandson. The Swaggert ministry is built on pride and error.

How does the hair issue apply to women being able to prophesying in Church?

1 Corinthians 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

I do know Jack Van Impe proved that, in the Bible, there are no women in heaven,

Revelation 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
How rude. I hope you are kidding. If you aren't kidding, I hope you aren't married. Once I post this answer, I will pray for your wife - if you have one.

Also, if you aren't kidding, you have just taken a bible verse out of context to explicitly serve YOUR wants. God frowns on that, you know.

I'm pretty sure it's just a joke.

It is time for worrying when a woman becomes silent.
