I just wanted to say that there are many resons for suicide. Yes there is an evil influance. But there is also a medical reason. So many fail to truelly understand that many mental disorders are the same as any medical disorder. Would you say that someone who died of diabetic , cancer, or heart conditions sinned and caused there death. For some reason most fail to understand that many mental conditions are medical conditions. I do not dispute that there are spirits that effect many, but to make one accountable for a medical condition can be judgemental. Judgement is mine says the Lord. Please try and see that mental illness in many is just that, an illness . I do agree that healing is a gift from God but it is to his Glory and what he chooses glorify himself in. People die, that is why we look to Jesus for salvation. Illness is why many die, whatever that illness may be. My goal and hope is that we all have Jesus in our hearts, by this Our Father in heaven is glorified. God bless, pickles

I have to say personally I don't believe in spirit of sucide; I do believe a person(s) get low due to the things of the world, peer pressure, and some humans judge themselves to the what the Media or hollywood as fed us.. Example.. Girls want to be Barbie or a model, and guys want to be rich and driving BMWs and etc lol like I said its an example..
Things in this world as we know ain't gonna get any better, only until Jesus Christ returns;that is when we will actually know true peace, Those of us who are Christians know it ain't easy to walk and we can't do absolutely nothing but we also know that we have a God that is looking after us, because we are His chosen creation(s), and He knows, we have our weakness and will always fall as we are in the flesh, but He has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us into His truth, He gave His son for our sins.
I pray for everyone who has lost someone to sucide rather it be family or friend; and yes I have lost a friend to sucide, I have thought of it many times myself before God changed me. Good topic Cmw :)

I guess I am not sure what you mean exactly by a ''spirit of suicide''. Do you mean demonic oppression leading to suicide? Or actual demonic ''possession'' leading the person to commit suicide-it being beyond their control? Could you clarify?

I totally believe that demonic oppression can lead to suicide. If the person doesn't rely on Christ..and look to Him for help, they can easily succumb to the oppression and commit suicide.

But, the bible doesnt teach that demons make us sin, or force us to do anything. That is if we are saved. If we are believers, satan cannot possess our bodies in any way. The only thing he can do is tempt us, and take it as far as we allow him.

As far as unbelievers go, they can be possessed, but I believe there is some point along the way where they have the ability to exercise their free will, and say ''yes'' or ''no'' to God. God is merciful, and He doesnt allow humans to be mere puppets for satan, and then **** or condemn us for it. Im sure there could be a good debate here, on how much demonic oppression God allows on those who havent accepted His Son. But thats another topic.

Just remember that 1 Corinthians 10:13 states that there is NO sin(or temptation) that has overtaken us that is uncommon to man. It also says that God is faithful, and wont allow us to be tempted beyond what we can endure. He provides a way of escape always. Thank You God for that! :)

So, all that to say: If someone is being oppressed by satan...tempted to commit suicide...and they dont look to God to see their real worth, they can easily succumb to oppression. But, I belive God is a just and merciful God who gives us all a fair shot at accepting or rejecting His Son. Satan nor all his demons can force us to sin.

The following may not be a spirit of suicide, but what kind spirit or thinking made this happen?

A man in his late 30's, who loved his work and was always on the go was told by his doctor that he had to change his diet and get his bad cholesterol down or he could have a heart attack. Well, he continued his schedule and eating habits (mostly fast foods because of being on the go) and a few months later dropped dead at the front door of his church on a Sunday morning. He died of a deadly heart attack and when they did the autopsy, his bad cholesterol was over (600). He was warned by a doctor, given advice which he obviously ignored, and the deadly heart attack came to past.

Here is my inquiry. I don't think for a moment that he intended to end his life in any way, but when the warning comes and you do not heed that warning with the result being physical death, it is like suicide (the loss of life) through negligence with careless and reckless disregard for your own life. The same risk is involved with those that smoke, those that drink alcoholic beverages, those that abuse their bodies with having sexual relations with multiple partners and those that do illegal drugs and abuse, over the counter pharmaceuticals. We have all said it of some people, 'They are slowly killing themselves' and when it comes to pass we say, 'I knew it was going to happen'. The unfortunate thing is that no one, even through unconditional love, was able to change their mind or heart on the matter. I don't know what some of you would call that but I would lean toward a spirit of pride.

BLC: Yes, a spirit of Pride. But not just one. Where there is one, there are many: rebellion, gluttony, unbelief, lust (of the eyes towards food), sloth (no excercise). And, too, a spirit of death, just waiting to kill.

I've pondered this aswell when I had severe depression. I read somewhere that depression is often referred to as a heavy spirit (sorry I don't have resources)

Satan is here to kill, steal, and destroy. He is a demon, a evil spirit, a fallen angel. Many were thrown out of heaven onto earth. A spirit of fear the bible talks about. Thats a demon. Demons go into people or latch onto them and they want to destroy the people. Learn about them and cast them out like Jesus said. God bless you, Love
