I think if a woman is raped, and gets pregnant as a result of it, she has two options: have it and keep it, or have it and give it up for adoption. Some women's circumstances may not allow her to keep it for a variety of reasons, such as religious belief, or she's a minor child, and does'nt have the finances and support it would take to raise a child all on her own. In cases of rape, abortion should NOT be an option!! As for special needs, we are ALL born with special needs of our very own!! God sends parents babies with certain needs sometimes. Again, that is'nt a viable reason for an abortion. We all have certain disabilities, we need to deal with a babies needs as we would our own.
God Bless You for sticking up for the unborn. I believe life begins at the moment of conception and that abortion is murder.

I can't say on the rape bit since I never experienced it... but the special needs is a bit too far. Especially if despite the difficulties they may face, they still should be given a chance at life and it's up to the guardians/caregivers to provide the best possible for them.

I have met some amazing people with special needs, Children with downs syndrome are some of the most beautiful people you have ever met, what if Bill and Jen on the little couple had been gotten rid of because they were "special" needs" the only reality show I watch by the way, probably the only one on tv that's actually real, amazing couple, and amazing parents to those kids, who are also special needs

God is a just god, that will sit and listen to your side of your story whole heartedly. He will listen to the reason why a person aborted their own child. If someone aborted their child because they'd felt that they need more time to party on this earth without responsibilities, God will track down why this person thinks this way; and if a person was afraid for this child life to be apart of world, God will look into it further by seeing why this person think like this, also. God get to the root of every matter and will find what was the true reason of these dysfunctional behavior. God had asked Adam, " Who told you that you were naked", since God is a just god, He knows how to get to the bottom of things. So we must try not to have an Accuser, but just to be safe, keep ourselves from judging or accusing others, so that we will not be judged.

I once heard the argument that one should not respond to a violent act (rape) with another violent act (abortion). A woman who has been violently attacked does not need another violent attack on her body in the form of an abortion. I think the only way a woman can heal from the rape is to allow the new life in her to live and thrive, be that by adoption or by providing the best home she can.

Atwood now that is just crazy, saying abortion is not a sin. The murder of any life rather it has been born yet or not is a sin. The purpose that most abortion is used for is to kill the life of the baby that is growing inside a woman. They do not try to take it out and keep it alive to fully form.
Kenneth, did you even read my post?
Abortion itself is not a sin. Abortion happens all the time by spontaneous abortion; women cannot help it. The sin is murdering the baby. I don't think you read my post.

I agree with you up to a point except saying all abortion. Because when a woman has a miscarriage they perform an abortion to remove the dead fetus.

That is what you said. So abortion itself is not a sin. It is murder of the baby that is the sin.

Atwood, when you're saying abortion, you're thinking of the clinical term that includes miscarriages, aren't you? As miscarriages are the only spontaneous abortions I know of.

Abortion is not the answer by any means. Most and I will go out on a limb, Are down by people who got drunk or high and had a so called good time. But, didn't want came after.

I would say that probably 5% if that many are because of deformity. Abortion is a way out and it's wrong.

My cousins wife ( they are not saved BTW) had 3 abortions before they meet and got married. She, then wanted children and cannot have one. She was also mentally unstable because of what she had done.

Many women suffer depression and mental disorders after having abortions.

The church has failed, because abortion exist in the U.S.A.. Instead of preaching the truth and fighting against perversion the church has accepted it or claims it's not my problem.

One of the reason's that America is in the mess it is in is because of abortion ( oh let's quit calling that and call it what it really is Baby killing) and the other is open acceptance of Homosexuality.

I don't decide a person's value based on how s/he was conceived.

A child concieved by a married couple deeply in love
is just as valuable as
A child conceived by a gal who becomes pregnant after she has sex in an effort to keep a boyfriend from leaving her
is just as valuable as
A child conceived by a gal who was forced into sex by some slime-ball who needs to have "it" amputated.

When there is a crime, the criminal should be punished, not the victim(s).

As for special needs, I can't say I know a lot of special needs children who would prefer to be dead because life isn't always wonderful. I have actually seen more non-special needs folks complaining about how difficult life is and wanting to die.

So you are saying not to accept peoples weaknesses, except for yours? So we should abort all Homosexual from being in the presence of God; and remember, Homosexuals were once babies.

So let congratulate you and your disciples on the works that you all have done! These are some pretty healthy fruits that you all have on your branches.

Carlos Vigil, 17, of Albuquerque, New Mexico was an anti-bullying advocate, but over the weekend he took his own life — the apparent victim of what he fought against.
Carlos was to be a senior at Valley High in the fall, where he transferred last year to escape bullying at Los Lunas High School. He had been picked on for his weight, his acne, his glasses and according to the suicide note he left on Twitter on Saturday, for being gay. Gay Teen Commits Suicide: “The Kids At School Are Right, I’m A Loser, A Freak And A Fag” / Queerty

Jamey Rodemeyer sent out many signals on social networking sites that he was struggling with his sexuality, and although he encouraged others on YouTube to fight off the bullies, things didn't get better.
The Buffalo, N.Y., boy, 14, killed himself this weekend after posting an online farewell. http://abcnews.go.com/Health/gay-buffalo-teen-commits-suicide-eve-national-bullying/story?id=14571861

http://www.katu.com/news/local/Joe-Bell-killed-on-walk-to-honor-Jadin-Bell-227255411.htmlKIT CARSON, Colo. – Joe Bell had a message for gay teens suffering from bullying who might be contemplating suicide: “It’ll get better.”

He was spreading that message during a walk across the country – from Oregon to New York City.

Joe was walking in honor of his son Jadin. The 15-year-old boy was gay and suffered from bullying. Hehanged himself on a La Grande school playground in January. A passerby saw Jadin and tried to help, but the boy later died at a Portland hospital.

Joe Bell was walking along a rural highway in Colorado on Wednesday evening when he was struck by a semi-truck and killed.

A Colorado State Patrol spokesman said investigators think the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel when he hit Joe as he walked on the shoulder.

Joe began his walk in April. His son had died just a few months earlier.

“He was hurting so bad,” Bell told KATU just before embarking. “Just the bullying at school. Yeah there were other issues, but ultimately it was all due to the bullying, for not being accepted for being gay.”

I guess God is right, the tongue is a sword.

The baby is still her flesh and blood even if it was conceived through rape plus you don't know who that child will grow up to be, it may grow up to change the world! For I know our God is in the business of making the best and redeeming of even the worst of situations.
You're right it could gorw up to change the world. It could cure cancer OR it could commit atrocities worse than Hitler. You never know. Sorry, its just a terrible argument about 'you never know what the child could grow up to be'

All you spouting all your opinions of what the bible is saying have no idea what it is like to be raped! Men we have no idea. Women if you have no idea then keep your opinion to yourself. That is between that woman and God. There are a lot of judgmental statements about pro life and all that jazz. The truth of the matter is God alone knows what is best for each woman in that predicament and to make asinine statements like they ought to do this or that is condescending at best.

How dare you try to make a determination on what a woman in that situation should do and then quote scripture. I have counseled women in such predicaments and advised them that it is solely between them and God as to what to do.

What happened in instances of rape in the bible? I will take all the heat directed at my comments but stand by them. We only know in part. And I have never been raped! Has any of you giving advice been raped? Until then leave that between God and the woman who was raped for she and she alone not you or I will have to stand before God!

Take your anger out on the rapist.

Comfort and aid the woman who was assaulted.

Let's not add to the victim list by sucking/tearing/twisting/scraping/pulling limb from limb the unborn human out of his/her only place of refuge. (As though assault wasn't deplorable!)

I am against abortion but I couldn't help reading all those comments - plain, black and white and so matter of fact, condemning women who took the decision to abort when raped and grimacing.

It reminds me of the woman caught committing adultery, waiting for the crowd to stone her and how Jesus himself didn't throw any stones at her.

Thank you for showing that compassion that was almost lacking in many of the comments.

Look don't bury your head in the sand if you want stand for and egg that has been fertilized that is unborn and not a unborn child it is a fetus, just because you believe in life at conception is asinine to a woman who has been RAPED! The key word is RAPE! Let that woman make her own decision and let God deal with that woman. Not you not me. Or at least think that that woman has a choice of how her body can be used and if her body was sinned against by the act of RAPE and she decided to do whatever she does so be it!

That was a point that you took to heart well so be it that may keep us safer we cant talk as knowing what an officer or doctor does as their profession true! Just as these folks making comments on what a woman who has been raped should do!

sin is sin smoking cigarettes is sin no different in the sin arena sin is sin no big sin no little sin its all sin that God calls sin so understand that and abortion because of rape is no different in the sin arena you are not God I am not God let God be God and do his work in the life of the women who suffer that cruel act against them
Pray for them but don't throw scripture throw prayer that is still that woman's vessel to be responsible for only God knows what she will or should do not you or I

just because a chile was conceived in some awful way, doesnt mean it's any less of a life, God will deal with the rapist, he has a plan for that child no matter what, thats a separate human being, you dont know who that child will grow up to be, it's child, saying it's life should be ended because of the circumstances of it's conception?

pastac, as a woman who HAS been raped, and DID get pregnant, then later miscarried, I can truly relate to how someone in that position would feel. I think your reply is pretty judgmental in saying that we have no idea how it feels. I cant speak for any of the ladies who posted here, but like I said, I have been raped. You stated men have no idea how it feels to be raped--why dont you ask somebody whose been in prison for several years? Men get raped in prison every day. You're correct in saying it's between the woman and God.

I completely agree with Test_F_i_2_Luv's reply.. Your anger should be directed at the rapist, NOT at other people who are merely giving an opinion on a topic about rape. As Test said, unless you have been in that situation, then it's best not to comment on it. You know nothing about rape, and how it feels. I do, and I'm sure other women on here do too.

And by the way, the last comment in your reply is false. Someday we will ALL stand before God to account for our actions.

  • Now clearly understand my post and don't assume. I made clear concise statements about men not being raped and making a life point one different than just the act of rape as was the thread posting. Not about just the act of rape but about what to do with that life if one was conceived. Point two anger is at the ignorant responses. As a woman who has suffered that bitter sting I am saddened for that act upon you but your decision was yours alone to make.

A decision between you and God. And as God had his way in that event was my point. But that was between you and God.
Now point three how dare you offer judgmental to my thought that is Gods business not yours or mine. I don't care who you agree with or even if you disagree with me that is fine. I simply stand firm in my position that whatever a woman does in that instance is between her and God.

That was my point sister I have never been raped nor have many of the people who responded why cant you see my intent instead of berating me for the stance I took. You did not mention the idiocy of any of the other post why mine. I am a man who has daughters and shudder at that thought. Yes it angers me.
But my position is and was clear maybe your understanding is somehow clouded because I don't agree with everyone's position. Ok fine but what did I say wrong! You cant pin point one word I said wrong. Read what I said then post to me. I will never change this position but you will not tell me I'm being judgmental either.

I've done no such thing I stand by what I said that it is between God and that woman period. Lastly I'm not an idiot I know men get raped you have no idea what I know or my story you only assume. But men don't have babies from rape either!
