Indeed on our own no one is worthy, but as the OP says on the first post "He sent His son so we could become worthy."

With Christ living in us, we can walk worthy of His kingdom and calling. Not perfection (no sinning), but "worthy" (because of Jesus Christ and his forgiveness, cleansing, and grace.
You hit the nail on the head! :)

We become the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:21) by putting on Christ (Rom 3:22), not through our own worthiness. Christ's righteousness is imputed to us.
Gal.2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.....it is no longer I who lives but Christ who lives in me...so as you see it, then christ is not worthy cuz He and I are one...if you read then entire thread in context you'll see what i mean...i believe you just enjoy mocking and scoffing every thread i post....i truly don't believe that is being productive at all cuz it's done by posting quotes that are close to the point but don't exactly hit the point.

Matt.6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

1Cor.6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

God did not send His son because we were worthy;
He sent His son so we could become worthy.

God did not send His son because we were good;
God sent His son so we could become good.

Not even one of us is perfect and never will be on this earth.
However, that should not keep us from striving for perfection.
We do this according to the examples Jesus gave us and
mostly by giving us His 2 commandments. Love the Lord your
God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.
The entire law is fulfilled with in those two commandments.

If you have love you just don't need to have anything else...
if you don't have it, it doesn't matter much what else you have

1Cor.
13 If I speak in the tongues[SUP][a][/SUP] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. [SUP]2 [/SUP]If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. [SUP]3 [/SUP]If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[SUP][b][/SUP] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
I would say that Jesus came so that we could be Deemed worthy. So that we could be justly transformed on the Day of the resurrection into a state of being that will be worthy.. Those who are ""In Christ"" are currently deemed worthy and await with hope the return of the LORD Jesus Christ to recieve the promise of Christ to be made worthy in actuality..

He begins His work in us now. Growing our faith, growing us in the virtues, making us more like Himself. This is what He does now.

DustyRhodes - my advice -- for what it is worth . . . .

I am not sure that Magenta "enjoys mocking and scoffing" - maybe it seems so to you - I think she is just trying to passionately to defend what she believes to be true - and she says it differently than you do.

This is a forum for discussion of ideas, not just a place to teach others your ideas. Sure, you can express what you believe and that is great -- but be prepared if others don't agree or see it otherwise. If you feel they fight you, don't fight back, just smile and be OK with it

Lostness -

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.
1 Tim 1:13

Who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.
Col 1:13

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.
1 Peter 1:14

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
2 Corin 4:6

There is a sense in the world we are lost, in the darkness, sin enslaving us, with no hope
other than to enjoy what comfort we can along the way to death.

In Christ when the light dawns, things suddenly fall into place and we know how we can
behave and what we need to do, to put things in their appropriate place.

There is being lost in rebellion, sin and hurt keeping us away from God, being
drawn by the passions of this world into death. Without the ignorance and lack of faith,
there would be no hope for us, because even when faced with Christ we would still turn
away, because we would have rejected God himself in our hearts.

So we are lost, sheep who have gone astray, a people who can be saved, a lost
sinner capable of turning to the light. It is why righteousness and love need to
walk with Jesus in our lives, not just a rubber stamp of acceptance.

[for me anyway] our attitude, our mind-set ought to be in humility which is the greatest Christian virtue, and we have examples of them that know this such as: John the Baptist saying >I am unworthy even to stoop down and unloosen His shoe latches; or Peter saying>Depart from me for I am a sinful man O Lord; or the centurion saying>I am not worthy that He should enter under my roof; or Paul saying>I am less than the least of all saints.

it's always a good thing to believe Jesus, for He makes no mistakes...
we would never be able to trust ourselves, without His Holy assurance...

MATT. 10:9-10.
Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman
is worthy of his meat.

MATT. 10:13.
And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

are you worthy yes you are the question is what will you do with this

Matt.6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?.
Jesus said you are worth many sparrows.

1Cor.6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Again what will you do with this .

God did not send His son because we were worthy;
He sent His son so we could become worthy.
His son has always been around he sent his son to defeat the enemy. so we may have a chance .

God did not send His son because we were good;
God sent His son so we could become good.
There where many Good men in the old t. this is not the only reason.

Not even one of us is perfect and never will be on this earth.
However, that should not keep us from striving for perfection.
yup you can get things perfect and become a perfectionist at your field but all you need is one door unlocked and perfection is out of the window and you will never be perfect on your own.

We do this according to the examples Jesus gave us and
mostly by giving us His 2 commandments. Love the Lord your
God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.
The entire law is fulfilled with in those two commandments.
Should we chuck the rest of the bible away then. this is a blanklet statement.

If you have love you just don't need to have anything else...
if you don't have it, it doesn't matter much what else you have.
try telling that to the mrs who needs xy bc and all of her other details she likes you need a lot more than love.
Love is wondefull No mistaking that but what Good is love without strenght ? hmm.

1Cor.
13 If I speak in the tongues[SUP][a][/SUP] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. We all tithe in one way or another whether you give to your church or whether you go to work and 33 percent of your wage goes to the tax man who in returns gives your money to good causes it doesnt matter but that does not make you worthy.

What makes you worthy is the fruits of your gifts and the proof in the pudding such as Good works

Ephesians 4:1 | I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

1 Thessalonians 2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

2 Thessalonians 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

2 Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

Indeed on our own no one is worthy, but as the OP says on the first post "He sent His son so we could become worthy."

Obviously.........only in Christ does one become worthy....because the righteousness of Christ is applied to the believer by faith!

Question if i moved to the isle of man where tax is more like 15 percent for my wage would i still be worthy as most preachers say 10 percent is enough but really what is enough. i think feeling content goes out of the window but when i look at where my 33 percent goes I think hey im doing good but i dont boast or complain at least no more lol chuckle chuckle, but i did once apon a time when i didnt see that my 33 percent went to welfare over seas aids shcools armed forces police roads hospitals to name but a few.
This makes me wonder is it not that when we complain we fail instead of just getting on with it? but then what is a genuine complaint and this is something the doctors have have to work out and so is your own walk without fear or trembling and now if i said AM I WORTHY WOULD YOU SAY BOASTER or would you say well done for my wisdom:rolleyes: chuckle chuckle

Most preachers hey.....technically speaking 10% off the top to the priests and then anything above that was considered an offering....(under the law)

New Covenant...the Lord loves a cheerful giver.........and give as your heart so desires...!

He begins His work in us now. Growing our faith, growing us in the virtues, making us more like Himself. This is what He does now.
Yes we are changed deep in our consciences when we truly believe God and trust in His way of salvation.. Our whole world view, our view of existence changes for the better.. But it is important to realize we need to have continuing forgiveness for others and for ourselves because while we may be a better version of ourselves we will never be the perfect version of ourselves until the Day of the Resurrection. :) That's why we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our LORD and Redeemer Jesus.
