No the covenant was conditional from the start..
Genesis 17:9-14
King James Version (KJV)
9And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

10This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

11And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

12And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

13He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

14And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
No the covenant was eternal from the start.

4 “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. 5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. 7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. 8 Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

Eternal means forever. If it does not mean forever. the eternal life God gave us does not mean anything.

The sign of the circumcision was a condition made to whoever wanted to be a PART OF THIS earthly land covenant. For this part was given to only Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Not to the rest of his descendants. God proves this when he said it was not given to Ishmael (who was his descendant) but to one who would be born of sarah.
The same goes with the mosaic covenant. It had many purposes.

Again look at lev 26.

Top Ten Reasons the Dispensationalist Did Not Cross the Road

by C Michael PattonJuly 22nd, 2010

10. By taking a consistently literal approach, we thought that “cross the road” meant something about the crucifixion.
9. We thought that the other side was for Israel and this side was for the church.
8. Charles Ryrie was still on this side of the road, why cross?
7. It is pointless since Jesus is just going to bring us back after 7 years.
6. Like the OT prophets and the church age, we were unable to see the other side.
5. We counted and it would take 18 steps. That divided by 3 is 6. 666. Therefore, it would be taking the mark of the beast.
4. We were not a part of the ‘crossing’ dispensation.
3. Dallas Theological Seminary has yet published anything telling us how to do it.
2. It was crossing from HWY 69 to HWY 70. That road is meant only for Israel. < Daniel's 70th week:D
1. We thought we would be raptured before we got there anyway.

No. I just hope you don't expect me to read them all. and think they would prove your point.

I would rather discuss what scripture says. not what so and so says ;)

I have been down the rout of reading a book or webpage, and believing what they say. then reading another book and finding out I believe something else. and so on and so forth. so I gave up reading and actually started studying.

Actually I did not say anything about circumcision in the second part. so I do not see your point.

Let me ask you a question abiding.

God told abraham he would make MANY nations out of him.

Yet God said at another point. a part of the covenant does not affect all nation. But only the children born of Sarah.

what did he mean by this??

How come ALL his descendants get part of the covenant. But only a particular group gets a certain part?

Though I personally don't see it as salvation bearing, pretty much like pre-mid-post trib, I do find reading about it interesting, I'm learning what "isms" mean, but just struggle with why on earth would one want to get so in depth with it even more, but that's just me, no disrespect intended, but it is interesting

I loved reading about this stuff. I have read so many books and It is always interesting seeing what people believe. I have also been dragged back and forth between a few. I read one, and yeah that makes sense. then I read another. And the opposing view makes sense . so its like what the heck??!!.lol

Well yes her child. But the covenant with her children also included the land. Not just Christ. Christ is the promise where ALL the children (no matter who the mother was) have access to the covenant. That would include us who are spiritual children.

The Promise of Christ did not, however, have anything to do with the land covenant, which God called eternal in nature. If it did. Christ would have had to come before they were given the land.
This promise was given to just Abraham, Issac and Jacob and ALl of their dependants. And do not include us. Only them
