You certainly know your stuff my friend:)
Thank you, Blain, I actually find it very confusing having tho go back and forth between how we count days and how they did, and I wonder if their Sunday started the evening before the women went to find the tomb empty? In that case it would be Sunday either way :D

And of course they did not call it Sunday but the first day of the week, which was the day following the weekly Sabbath, which was the seventh day of the week... Apparently there are eight mentions of this first day of the week in Scriptures:

Matthew 28:1
: "Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb."

Mark 16:2: "Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen."

Mark 16:9: "Now when He rose [was risen, KJV] early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons."

Luke 24:1: "Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared."

John 20:1: "On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark. . . ."

John 20:19: "Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, 'Peace be with you.'"

Acts 20:7: "Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight."

I Corinthians 16:2: "On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper that there be no collections when I come."

Yes, and it certainly clears up my confusion over whether it was Saturday night or Sunday morning regardless of whose time system is being used :D I learned, too, in hornetguy's thread, that the Passover itself was not the second Sabbath that week, but the following day which was the high holy day and yearly Sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened Bread :)

Have you ever done a study on what the Jewish holidays mean? It's very fascinating and explains a lot why Jesus did certain things when he did like when rode in on a donkey it has actually have very deep significance other than fulfilling prophecy

I have looked at it a little, and was just remembering a much earlier thread that was started on it by barleygirl, I think it was, do you remember her? I was thinking that Jesus was likely born on Sukkot...
