Hi Everyone!

This is my first post ever on the forum, and I am happy to be posting. The verse that I would like to discuss is Isaiah 9:6, 7.

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

So I would like to hear people's thought's on this verse.

My thoughts when I look at this verse is the absolute amazing risk that Jesus took when He came to this earth. The fact that the government was upon His Shoulder, is absolutely incredible! Jesus came to be a human being, and lived a life without sin. Had He sinned, He could not be our substitute. I think that this verse could go along with John 3:16 to. In fact, I think that this verse is one of the John 3:16's of the Old Testament. Just thinking that God gave Jesus to us blows my mind! Then another interesting thing to note about this is verse 7. Not only does the government not stop after Jesus has come, but of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end!
