So if God sends me rain water my garden so I can eat, what condition did I meet to allow him to do this, especially since in this scenario I am an unbeliever.
Hi EG,I covered that in my first post #20.

I said that there are blessings that are unconditional like sending the rain and sunshine on unbelievers.

There are many things that we are blessed with. Life itself is a blessing. The beauty of creation is a blessing to enjoy without conditions. :)

Faith receives what grace has already provided for because it is all in Christ alone.

In Him - we have redemption, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification - love, grace, life.

All the blessings are already ours because we are in Christ and because of what He has already done.

Acts 20:32 (NASB)
[SUP]32 [/SUP] "And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

We are to fix our hope completely on the grace that comes with the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:13
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

THIS is the major key to the blessings of God. We have them ALL and we acquire the living out of them by grace through faith. I've learned it's a matter of believing that it was Jesus ALONE who made all the blessings of God available to me in the gift of salvation. Salvation IN Christ is the gift that keeps on giving. The way to see the blessings show up in my day to day life is by grace through faith. Jesus does the supplying and I do the taking by faith.

It's not about being theee most obedient or theeee most kind and theeee most generous., or theee most repentant. Because it's not about me it's about JESUS. First and foremost it's believing I'm blessed ONLY through and because of Jesus. I start to SEE Jesus better through the working of the Holy Spirit who ALWAYS points to Jesus. I see that the condition for anything from God is by grace (knowing I don't deserve it by my good works or good thinking or good intentions) I don't deserve all these blessings and by faith believing I have them because of how deserving JESUS IS.

The ONLY condition today in the new covenant of grace is the obedience of faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross for me. So IN Christ I have all the blessings. My job is to learn how to always walk by grace through faith each day in each circumstance. That is the only condition. Jesus did it all.

Hi Abigail,

I think it really depends on what you're referring to. Jesus said that he sends the rain and sunshine even on unbelievers so there's no condition for some blessings.

I would have to say that everything is conditioned. Here are a few examples below.

Ephesians 6:2 - Condition is honor parents
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

Philippians 4:6, 7 - Condition is don't worry
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

James 4:3 - Condition is pure motives
You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Matthew 6:17, 18 - Conditioned upon secrecy
But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Matthew 6:33 - Conditioned upon seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

James 1:25 - Conditioned on obedience
But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

Jesus also said if you want to be called His friend that you must obey Him. Most everything is conditioned on love, faith and obedience.

John 15:10, 11
If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
