Yes...
Only they are not gifts. They are a manifestation (evidence) of the gift that we received at the new birth.
The are necessary... and available today to tap into at the believers determination (will)
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience from salvation (new birth) and is essential for receiving the Gifts of the Spirit. Acts 8:14-17 and Acts 19:1-6 is evidence, where receiving the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of specific gifts appear as separate events following conversion.

The gifts of the Spirit are manifestations only after being baptized in the Holy Spirit. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct and subsequent experience to conversion or water baptism, and is evidenced by speaking in tongues, and it is considered a catalyst for the operation of the other spiritual gifts described in the New Testament.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is an empowerment for service and ministry, enabling believers to live out their Christian lives more effectively and to serve the body of Christ in various capacities. Acts 1:8 (NKJV) says, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." This verse shows that the baptism in the Holy Spirit equips believers with power for witness and service, suggesting that the spiritual gifts, including prophecy, healing, miracles, and discernment of spirits, among others, are manifestations of this empowerment.

Furthermore, 1 Corinthians 12-14 provides extensive teaching on spiritual gifts, emphasizing their diversity and purpose for the common good of the church. The gifts follow only after the baptism in the Holy Spirit, the outpouring of the Spirit at Pentecost and the gifts operating in the early church as a model for Christian experience today. Just as the early disciples received boldness, power, and gifts of the Spirit following their baptism in the Holy Spirit, contemporary believers should also expect to experience and operate in spiritual gifts the same way because God never changes.

You don't believe their is a distinction between the baptism of the Spirit and baptism with the Spirit?

Biblically, yes. Actually? Very little.
There is NOTHING openly declared in the Bible saying otherwise.
If Jesus is always the same, & the Father declares in the OT He doesn't change, what about the Holy Spirit?
The ONLY time Jesus couldn't perform many miracles was because of the people's unbelief. That alone should speak volumes to the modern church.
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

Can you be more specific?
Sure. Are they one and the same thing or different. Is what is spoken of in Ephesians 1:13 the same or different than what is spoken of in Ephesians 4:5?

You don't believe their is a distinction between the baptism of the Spirit and baptism with the Spirit?
This was prophetic.

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭3:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is when it was fulfilled

“And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what John called baptism with the spirit is a reference to when someone receives the holy ghost

That couldn’t happen until this happened

“This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:32-33‬ ‭

What john told them was now fuflilled jesus had baptized them with fire and the holy ghost .

the first thing Peter commands then to Dino’s be baptized for remission of sins in his name and says “ and you will receive the holy ghost

that’s baptism when it’s fully completed we get baptized for remission of sins in Jesus name who died for our sins , and he’s promised to send his spirit to believers of the gospel

water and spirit are one baptism it just wasn’t complete until Jesus died rose and ascended to send his spirit

John was merely speaking beforhand of what was going to happen later

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, ( one baptism ) he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬

Here are the verses that you refer to in context (from the NET Bible).

Ephesians 1:13-14, "And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation)—when you believed in Christ—you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit, who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory."

Ephesians 4:1-5 "I, therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live worthily of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, putting up with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you too were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."

Personally, I believe that these are "one and the same thing". When a person believes the Gospel and accepts Jesus as her/his savior they become a part of God's family for eternity. (Wow!!!) As such, our lives are supposed to reflect that condition. I don't think it is possible to express how we are to live better than what Paul wrote.

I think that it's just terminology. The baptism of the Spirit, baptism with the Spirit, being "born again" of the Spirit, etc. are all talking about the same thing. A person becomes a new creation. The "old person" dies and the "new person" is born.

2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

Being baptized in water and being baptized in the Spirit are two entirely different things. They are not one baptism, they are two baptisms.

Nobody received the Holy Spirit when John baptized them in the Jordan River.

John the Baptist said Jesus with fire and the Spirit. Both are experiential. Baptism into the body of Christ is not, in my opinion.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience from salvation (new birth) and is essential for receiving the Gifts of the Spirit
This is completely false.

When a person receives the gift of the Holy Spirit in response to the Gospel (Acts 2:38) that is in fact the baptism WITH the Holy Spirit. The pouring out (outpouring) of the Holy Spirit on that person (Titus 3:4-7) happens at the time he is saved (justified). Titus salls this outpouring "which He shed on us abundantly".

Not one of the 3,000 Jews on the day of Pentecost received "a distinct experience" after they were saved. But they were all baptized by immersion. See Acts 2, where they were baptized with the Holy Spirit. However they (or as many of them who were present) were "filled" (totally controlled by ) the Holy Spirit when they all prayed in unison and then spoke the Word of God boldly. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the Word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:31)

There are many other passages which show that the gift of the Holy Spirit (which includes the "sealing") is also the "baptism" with the Holy Spirit. It cannot be otherwise. That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. (Eph 1:12-14)

Paul says that after you believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit. Which means that the gift of the Holy Spirit was given at that time. This corresponds to Acts 2:38. Simultaneously the Holy Spirit "baptizes" the believer into the Body of Christ (1 Cor 12). And this also enables the believer to receive one or more of the gifts of the Spirit. So there is no need to come up with your own doctrine in order to promote false ideas about this whole matter.

Being baptized in water and being baptized in the Spirit are two entirely different things. They are not one baptism, they are two baptisms.

Nobody received the Holy Spirit when John baptized them in the Jordan River.
“Nobody received the Holy Spirit when John baptized them in the Jordan River.”

well only the child of God did

“Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him,

and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭3:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Then he went here so we can also be baptized into his body and receive his spirit

“This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

( what are they told to do when they ask ?)
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, ( that’s what John was doing )

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:32-33, 37-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s what Jesus promised them when he was with them there’s absolutely no doctrine to support any other baptisms but wha actually written down about it the rest is just speculation because we don’t accept it for what it is

jesus got baptized and receives the Holy Ghost as an example to his followers and what was going to happen after he died and rose and ascended and sent his spirit like Peter filled with the holt ghost is explaining To us in chapter 2

We’re they still baptizing in water though ? Yeah of course that’s what God established when he sent John the Baptist to establish baptism for repentance and remission of sins on earth

“Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:35-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s baptism God sent his baptizer to establish it , jesus and all of his diciples partook of it before and after the cross

These are just factual statements from scripture how many baptisms are there actually apostle Paul ?

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I assure you Jesus and all of his diciples weren’t practicing and partaking of the “ wrong baptism “ they weren’t commanding “ the wrong baptism “ it’s o my that some refuse to hear it and accept it because they believe we don’t have to actually do anything to be saved …..

What of o receive the Holy Ghost ? Am I already baptized for remission on Jesus name ? What if I’m gentile apostle Peter ?

“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? A

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:44-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

there isn’t two baptisms and the baptism Jesus and his apostles partook of is well explained and shown for what it is but sometimes man doesn’t want to hear it that’s always been a thing and then we create our own versions that’s also always been a thing

In the end everything Jesus laid out Will work and be honored by God and everything he didn’t will be burned up and exposed

I see at least 4 that I can distinguish from scripture.
So Paul didn’t understand doctrine ?

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:4-6‬ ‭

You think it’s erroneous to begin accepting that there’s only one baptism ? And then trying to understand the aspects of what it means for us ?

you don’t think this is baptism

“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:37-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What’s it mean on a deeper level when we do that though brother how can we know what it means ?

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? ( note Paul’s saying this to those who were baptized in his name for remission of sins )

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

remission of sins

“in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Are you sure brother that you aren’t just realizing the depth of doctrine in the Bible about what baptism means and why we do it ? Rather than seeing several different baptisms ? Just inquiring as a brother

i agree tbat baptism has a lot of meaning if that’s what your saying , but when we start dividing it up into different things we’re just complicating the simplicity of faith hearing what it ac try ally explains in there about baptism and accepting and learning and believing those things
