The gravity of a sin depends upon conditions of the individual committing the act.

Offenses against chastity
2351 Lust is disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure. Sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes.
2352 By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action." "The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose." For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of "the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved."
To form an equitable judgment about the subjects' moral responsibility and to guide pastoral action, one must take into account the affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety or other psychological or social factors that lessen, if not even reduce to a minimum, moral culpability.

Death and sin no longer has any power over him. 10 When he died, he died once and for all to break sin's power over us. But now he lives, and he lives for God sinlessly. 11 So consider yourselves dead to do any more sins by sin's power but living for God in the sinless life power Christ Jesus gives you. 12 Therefore, never do another sin and let sin rule your physical body so that you obey its desires or sin ever again. 13 Never offer any part of your body to follow sin's power. No part of your body should ever be used to do any sinful thing. Instead, offer yourselves to God as people who have come back from sinning all day towards death, and are now alive. Offer all the parts of your body to work for God. Use them to do everything that God approves of. 14 Certainly, not doing any more any sin! you're not controlled by laws, but by God's favor. 15 Then what is the implication? Should we sin because we are not controlled by laws but by God's favor? That's unthinkable! 16 Don't you know that if you offer to be someone's slave, you must obey that master? Either your master is sin which you keep doing, or your master is obedience to God's law and you refuse to sin. Letting sin be your master and keeping on sinning leads to death. Letting obedience be your master and keeping his law leads to God's approval. 17 You were slaves doing sin. But I thank God that you have become wholeheartedly obedient to the teachings which you were given and stopped sinning.18 Freed from sinning anymore, you were made slaves who do what God approves of. 19 I'm speaking in a human way because of the weakness of your corrupt nature. Clearly, you once offered all the parts of your body as slaves to sexual perversion and disobedience and every sin. This led you to live disobedient lives to God's law. Now, in the same way, offer all the parts of your body as slaves that do what God approves of and stop sinning. This leads you to live holy lives without sinning anymore. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free to kill yourselves by refusing to do what God approves of. 21 What did you gain by doing those things? You're ashamed of what you used to do because sinning will always end in eternal death. 22 Now you have been freed by God's power to keep from sin and have become God's slaves of right doing. This results in a holy life and, finally, in everlasting life. 23 The payment for keeping on sinning is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life living sinlessly in Christ Jesus our Lord.

so here is a question for you 2thewaters: what if a drunk or a drug addict comes to Christ and over the course of 2 years gets drunk or high 14 times, but repents and asks for forgiveness each time. is this a saved person who is struggling with sin or a unsaved person until they get it right? by the way after no.14 they do not mess up anymore.
Do you think the Lord would tell you to endanger a life? The Pharisees obeyed law by the letter of the law like this would be, and Christ said it wasn't the way to obey law. Having the spirit of truth within us means that we wouldn't lie, but having love in us means we would harm anyone. Love and not harming is fundamental, we use not lying as part of that. Allowing harm to others would not be expressing love.
I think God will make a way where truth can be told. I know stories where people have been saved for instance a family who was hiding Jews under their table under the floor. Their neighbor told the soldiers they had Jews in there so they came around and asked where they were.
The lady refused to lie so she pointed to the floor under the table and said they are down there. The soldiers asked again and she said I told you they are down there under the floor boards. The Soldiers Got angry and left.
God honors those who obey Him.
