You'd be surprised how many Evangelicals are actually Roman Catholics when it comes to justification apart from works of the law.
I agree and will add....

The truth is or seems to be that most religions who name Christ trust into their abilities and works........not realizing that if any work is done it is JESUS that is doing the work...That is why works do not save....God clearly gave faith as the means of securing your place in his Kingdom......!

To crossnote, You need to study the Bible's way of describing saving faith. It is a living relationship with the risen Christ thru the Holy Spirit's power and love flowing thru us. I have read some of the Rom. Cath. defence against luther and some Reformers definition of saving Faith, and personally, I see the Rom. Cath.'s closer to the Bible than a lot of the Reformers. There is no confusion in the Bible's teaching on Justification. We are justified first by GRACE, then FAITH, then WORKS.

True. And works do not sanctify either. The one who abides in Christ's love will bear fruit and that is a result of our preceeding justification.

Faith = salvation...salvation = works
Faith = Justification before GOD
Works= Justified FAITH before MEN

Works do not save, but rather are a direct RESULT of Salvation

This is very clear. Jesus said, "by your words, you will be justified and by your words, you will be condemned". Paul said "it is not those who hear the law, but those who do the law, who are justified" and James said,"knowing a man is justified by works and not by faith alone". So why don't Christian believe the Bible? Lovr Hoffco

Assuming again? Saving faith comes first through the message of the Gospel.Then the veil is opened to us and we enter into a living relation with God due to the New Birth. The Holy Spirit is busy cleaning and sanctifying us.
What is wrong with that view? Or have you forgotten Rome holds that justification is a life long process you hopefully reach at the end. Is that where you stand Hoffco?

And we are busy "working out our salvation in fear and trembling" WHY. because God has appointed many who believe to damnation, according to Jh. 3:16.

For in the GRACE you are, having been SAVED out of FAITH and that not of yourselves it is the GIFT OF GOD and NOT of WORKS lest ANY MAN should BOAST....

People who are saved do believe the bible and not some man made doctrine

Do you believe the bible and HOW DOES the following prove your Christianity?????

NO! Grace comes FIRST. We are DEAD, unless God makes us alive by GRACE, we will not come to CHRIST.

This is a very simple statement, and could be very Biblical, depending on how you explain, what Jesus "has already done for me.". If you explain it like dcontroversal, you are very confused ,; But if you explain it like Iam3rd does, you are very much guided by the Holy Spirit of God. Love to all, Hoffco
Was the Apostle Paul saved by his works, or into his works? Do you work because you want God to save you, or because God has saved you? I submit that if you are working for a seat in God"s Kingdom, you will never find one. If you are working because you already have a seat in God's Kingdom, others will find a seat there too. The simplicity of the Gospel is that Salvation is not of works, but into works. We are Saved by Grace, through our Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who add conditions to that, do not understand the message of John 3. I'll ask you one final question. Can one who is saved, know what God has in store for him?

SORRY, you add to the words of the Bible, it is out of GRACE , we are saved "thru" or, as we believe, with a faith that is a gift of GRACE. And works always follow, immediately, because faith is the first act of obedience.

Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

but take the credit if you must.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I didn't see ''many who appointed to believe to damnation'' in that verse or ANY verse.
