Do you ever think , that you could do more to reach your family with planting a seed of truth with them ?

I feel lately that my seed planting efforts have been misdirected when it comes to my family.

I should bring to mind how temporary this life is, but there is a better promise of things to come.

I don't want one of them to have left the world, only to look back thinking I could have been more clear and given a seed of truth that was most vital . like Christ.

I always worry about my parents...im coming from an orthodox muslim family. So many times i have tried telling about the Lord and salvation,
They are not even ready listen to what i have to tell. they say "you have ur beliefs, we have ours".

what is it that i can do???i used to cry thinking abt my parents...but then when i read these verses, it seems like, that is the plan of God that they should not understand what i say..

Mt 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Mt 22:14 For many are called, but few [are] chosen.

Isn't it God's plan brother that they should not be clear with the scriptures.??

Ro 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

If its the goodness of God that leadeth us to rependance...then it is not in our hand rite?

Any ways the only thing i pray to God is, if it is his will to bring my parents to the truth, let it be done. I hope one day it happens

All we can do is plant and water, and God gives the increase. It takes many long years at times for sacrifice and many prayers for our loved ones. We teach them, we show them the truth, we counsel, we pray, and we commit them to God. My husband and I are both Christians, but my husband comes from a European background that believes the woman should do many things. I am not saying this is right, because I do not believe it is. I am just saying this is how my husband is. My husband had nothing to do with raising our children in the fear of God. Even though being a Christian himself, he lacked with the children. He never prayed with them. Never read the Bible to them. I used to take them to church many times by myself, as my husband had many problems and could not attend church all the time. It took years of sacrifice and years of praying to God for my children. But I am thankful, that all 3 of my children have found the Lord and are Christians and have been baptized. As far as other in our families, I too had to pray many years for them, and thank the Lord, He heard my prayers for them too. I do know though, that many families have parents, children, spouses, siblings, etc that are not Christians, and all I can say is never stop praying for them.

My family sees a change and my brothers are growing up to love the Lord and honoring Him. Because they see me, it helps them be individual at their schools, with friends, and such. It's an amazing thing, I think it's a best to reach home first with planting the seed! :)
