Rom.10:4-5 tells us, “For Christ is the END of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” Moses wrote, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” We that are New Covenant believers do not live by the laws requirements for blessings or curses, so we cannot come under a Old Testament curse. We are “IN Christ,” who has redeemed us by fulfilling the righteous requirements of the law, including the penalty for not keeping it. Christ has delivered us from the law (Rom.7:1-6; Gal.2:19-21) that we might receive His Spirit by faith and be set free from the law of sin and death (Rom.8:2-4). This includes any curse that would come because of disobedience to the law. You cannot hold the position that we are justified by faith in Christ, not by the works of the law,and thenteach that the law and its curse still apply today to New Testament believers that are under grace.

Matthew11:28Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.”

The Law does still apply today, Jesus is the end of the law (laws of Moses and ceremonial law), He tells us two things, first, Love Him with all our heart, and, then, love others as we love ourself, of these two all other commandments "hinge." This tells us that the other laws, although 'obsolete' and 'no longer needed,' are still there, they are just hinged on the 'brackets of the two New Covenant laws Christ gave us. :)

Matthew 12 : "The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[SUP]e[/SUP] 30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[SUP]f[/SUP] 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[SUP]g[/SUP] There is no commandment greater than these.”

I am pretty sure that the word 'hinge' is in one version of the gospels, not sure which one, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, but, this version here, too, has the words that make one KNOW that the other commandments are still 'great.'

What words, green?

"There is no commandment greater than these." :)

yes, we are under grace, but we are 'justified by faith.'

Today we are under both grace and law. But we are to understand both.

Since the world began, no man has ever "slept with their fathers" as OT says, or "been with me in paradise" as NT says except through grace. Atonement has always been through blood, either symbolic blood of Christ or actual blood after Christ lived here in the flesh and completed what God had planned for our salvation.

We are to be obedient. Scripture from Genesis to Revelation repeats that.

The law is an expression of love, and how to live love. If the law is done without love, it isn’t the law God is talking about. We are not under a law without love, people have never been. There was a group of people in Christ’ time who thought obedience for reasons other than love was enough, there was a group during Paul’s time who taught this kind of law was necessary, but it has never been. We are not under that kind of obedience. But we are under obedience. Again, if you see any law as not expressing love and caring for us, then look deeper. To protect our life with God, our eternal life, is the goal of God through love. The law is part of that love.

Through the life Christ lived and died in the body, we all have the Holy Spirit when we accept Him. It is an added blessing we have now. The atonement through Christ in the flesh was filled out, made complete. When you hear people say when Christ said He fulfilled it and that means that now it is not needed, run for your very life. Christ made it complete, He did not destroy. Law without love is useless, but the Law of Moses expresses love. Doing to gain salvation is useless. Doing without love is useless. But so is love without doing. Love is necessary.

When we see we are under grace, or under law, it must be done with understanding. The understanding must start with that all scripture is from God, God is eternal, all scripture is true. When you think that one scripture cancels another, there is danger and misunderstanding. One scripture never cancels another, all is true.

[h=3]Matthew 5:17-19[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[h=3]The Fulfillment of the Law[/h][SUP]17 [/SUP]“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. [SUP]18 [/SUP]For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

What was stopped at the cross was the laws of sin and death. Colossians 2:14 That is what was nailed to the cross. It was the debt that you had to pay if you did not receive life and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. When you received life and forgiveness those laws of sin and death was nailed to the cross. Colossians 2:15

In the old testament God gives people instructions on how to live holy and set apart being sanctified and leading to holiness. We should not do this out of earning salvation but out of a heart that has been changed and the law of God is now a delight to our hearts. The laws of God are what was best for the people. They are not grievous.

Their are multiple meanings of being under the law. We as believers are under grace and that grace empowers us to keep God's commandments. His commandments is what we should be doing. In doing that we are offering our bodies a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto God. romans 12

For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. romans 6:14

When a person is lost they are mastered by sin. They are under the law and not under grace. When you are not under the law you have the power by God's grace to obey God's commandments. When you mess up or do something that you did not know was bad then repent, learn, and do better next time. Don't make it a practice of sinning. 1 john 3:9

By God's grace you are in a position where you can live by the spirit, romans 8, and live and surrender your will to God's will. Conforming to His way and His will in the image of Jesus Christ.

Here are a list of some commandments of God.

Leviticus 11, deut 14, leviticus 19, exodus 20, leviticus 23.

There are some commandments of God. Ask and be willing to obey God. Keep asking questions and keep seeking. James 1:5

Nowhere does Paul say we are under the law but rather under grace although I believe we have God's nature written on our hearts. The Levitical law has been replaced by a greater Priesthood Heb 7;12
