You misunderstand. She was allowed to prophesy and bring souls unto Christ "outside" the church. She was not allowed to become a preacher "inside" the church. This is what the scripture says.
That is not what the Scripture says. That might be what you think it says, or what you want it to say though.

Adding to Scripture is a really bad idea.

I suspect a mix of inadequate training and self-teaching. His methods for interpretation leave much room for improvement.

I also suspect he isn't 93 years old.

To prophesy and to preach within a church are two different things. There was no contradiction.
Preach (καταγγέλλω) means to proclaim the good news (gospel) of Jesus. The witness of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10). So prophesying is preaching.

Preach
G2605 καταγγέλλω kataggello (kat-ang-gel'-lo) v.
1. to proclaim, promulgate

Why does everything devolve into ad hominem attacks? Stick with the subject under discussion no matter how much you detest others' viewpoints.

Back to the subject, Christians have only TWO OPTIONS. Believe and apply all instructions to the churches as given by Divine revelation, or pick and choose what you wish to believe and suffer the consequences. Christian women who are in submission to Christ have absolutely no issues with teachings applicable to women (which are self-explanatory).

I have serious doubts as well but for now take him at his word that he honestly stated his correct age. I wouldn't want to accuse him of anything.

Your response is ludicrous. Did you not see I included faith in what to have ?
Your response is ludicrous, you posting faith or not has nothing to do with my response.

Any argument against scripture is a losing argument. Any argument declaring anyone not a sinner is a losing argument. Are you people now arguing ever going to come up with anything you can actually prove in the Bible OR are you just going to sit keeping on repeating what someone has told you ?
Yeah the pharisee though the same when jesus exposed their FALSE application of scriputre, posting scripture does not make you right

I work at a Christian business and this topic came up the other day. It seems the opposed come from more strict and traditional denominations. Can a woman preach vs can women lead a church. I personally have stayed out of this one. Lol
Smart man..lol

The verses in the Bible are not meant to intimidate anyone, They are meant to bring truth. I keep posting it only because people keep saying it does not exist. I wish all you ladies and gentlemen a good day. I have to go now.
It did exist, in a cuture where women were second hand citizens, where new people would come in and see women speak out and be offended. Because they have not yet come to truth, so paul said it is better for women to be quiet, and not offend people who may be offended. Ie, be all things to all people.

You think Paul taught this because it was a cultural thing? If that's the case, we could change a lot of things about God's word using cultural bias as an excuse.

Sorry, I didn't know this was the "change God's word to make it fit my belief system" thread.

I've been reading many oppose to what the Lord gave Paul to teach, and yet, not many give their view on 2 Timothy or 1 Corinthians 11.

Have you ever read the old testament? Alot of stuff was written that way, just because you would rather shut a woman up and keep her in her place does not mean all churches should do it.

You don't have to go to an extreme mindset. Men should honor women and treat them with love and respect. Husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loved the church.
