Strong's for the word Gentiles

go'ee, go'-ee
Apparently from the same root as H1465 (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts: - Gentile, heathen, nation, people.
Total KJV occurrences: 559

Gal_3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
1Pe 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1Pe 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

As God is our Father, we are not heathen, There are more such verses then poster here

Rom 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
1Co 1:3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Phm 1:2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
Phm 1:3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

This beautiful prayer of our Lord he prays we will be one.

Joh 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Are you a gentile or a member of the family of God?
How about both? Gentiles remain Gentiles even while they are within the family of God. But as far as God is concerned, there is neither Jew nor Gentile within His family. It is a level playing field. All distinctions are abolished within the Body of Christ.

The fact of the matter is that Gentiles predominate within the Church, since Jews rejected Christ and rejected the Gospel all along (although the Church should have been predominantly Jewish, had God actually been electing some for salvation and others for damnation).

1. Who are Israelites;
2. to whom pertaineth the adoption,
3. and the glory,
4. and the covenants,
5. and the giving of the law,
6. and the service of God,
7. and the promises;
8. Whose are the fathers,
9. and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came,
10. who is over all, God blessed for ever.
Amen.

The Family of God and the body of Christ are not the same entities.

Just as the Kingdom of God is not the body of Christ either.

Don't mix them up.

All who will be with our Father for eternity are His children. This should be a satisfactory stance to say we are family.

Thread Title

Are you a gentile or a member of the family of God?

All who receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour are adopted back into the Family of God ----regardless of their nationality ------and like Nehemiah6 has already pointed out -----there is no distinction between Jew or Gentile or male or female ---all are one under Christ -------

It is then segregated as Believer or Unbeliever -------in my view -----anyone who has not received Jesus as their Lord and saviour is classed as an unbeliever -----and all who have received Jesus ---are Believers

i believe this section of scripture has some value to your question

Gentile biblically is any person who is not born of Israeli blood hey aren’t a descendant of Abram the Hebrew

The ot defines israel as gods chosen nation and every other nation is a gentile nation every gentile was excluded but now

“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; that at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

For he is our peace, who hath made both ( Jew and gentile ) one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: and came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both ( Jew and gentile ) have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

(heres the key conclusion) Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:11-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That set of scripture explains this summary and should answer your question

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If a person is baptized into Christ there’s no such thing as a Jew or gentile God made mankind one people and gave us one doctrine , one kingdom , one lord and mediator between God and mankind

The Family of God and the body of Christ are not the same entities.

Just as the Kingdom of God is not the body of Christ either.

Don't mix them up.
“The Family of God and the body of Christ are not the same entities.”

Christ is Gods son those in his body are Gods children

“Just as the Kingdom of God is not the body of Christ either.”

the body of Christ are the members of his kingdom children of the king

“giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: and he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:12-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The body of Christ is a reference to the church who believe the gospel regarding his body and blood and we’re baptized into his name

the church is the people of the kingdom they are the elect and chosen people of God. The reason is they accepted and believed the gospel of the kingdom that God sent into all the world promising salvation

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we actually need to understand that they are tied together by scripture and fornus to pull them apart and make them seperate is erroneous.

In the Old Testament God has a single chosen physical earthly nation l other nations were left out just one people the people of Jacob were chosen and they were given land and a nation by God

That is a earthly pattern of the New Testament which God has chosen this people exclusively and no one else is included

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Israel among the nations of gentiles is a pattern for the church among the world of non believers those who believe are Gods chosen and elect the church the people of his eternal Kingdom , his children

The gospel of the kingdom of God is what we have to accept Jew or gentile that’s the entry point into his kingdom eternal it’s what identifies the church the body of Christ the chosen and elect of God

“where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:11-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The new terrement isn’t teaching a bunch of seperate groups or peoples or kingdoms it’s all
Of one and is what the gospel is all about the coming kingdom of God after death

Family... the one Triune God.. plus His angels and believers.

Kingdom.. everything God is sovereign over. The Family is inside this.

Within the Family is a body of Christ.. a local assembly of saved, baptised believers covenanted to carry out the great commission and commandment, with Jesus as the Head.

The body of Christ is of one of the assemblies in particular or singular representing all of God's churches.. plural..

That's how the Bible defines them.

Different entities. Although the churches do represent the Kingdom. They are it's manifestation on earth. But still inside it.

To my understanding Romans 14:17 defines the Kingdom of God

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

“That's how the Bible defines them.”

not at all Jesus Christ is the son of God that’s his family , believers who get baptized into his name become his children
“Family... the one Triune God.. plus His angels and believers.”

not at all of you read the gospel you’ll realize it’s about the Father and His children the only way to be pet of Gods family is to believe the gospel and be BORN AGAIN into his family

when people use the term born again that’s what’s happening your being born as a child of God in Christ

angels ? Nope they aren’t Gods children that’s reserved for mankind

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2:14-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Angels are Gods spiritual ministers to the hiers Gods chosen children mankind

no angel has ever been called Gods child they are different creatures and have a different purpose they minister the hiers the family , Christian’s are the hiers of God

“being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, And he shall be to me a Son?

And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, And his ministers a flame of fire.

But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭1:4-7, 13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The one and only way to be a child of God is to repent and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and be baptized into his name that’s where Gods children are born.

Gods family is Christ Jesus his son and everyone who believes in him. “ in Christ ““ means you are a child of God , an heir of God , a member of the church his body , and a citizen of his eternal kingdom

people are those made in his image and likeness we Christian’s are Gods family , the citizens of his kingdom , his people , his body . It’s all part of the same thing and it’s what the gospel is all about

God and his children thats the subject of the gospel and the gospel is the only way to the father

This is the only way to become a child of God

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:10-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s why Jesus sent the gospel into the world to save sinners and create his eternal children

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If your saved your a child of God bearing the name of Jesus his son and having received remission of sins in his blood

This makes one a member of the church , his body on earth , ot makes hen a citizen of his kingdom promises to believers of the gospel , it means they aren’t a Jew and aren’t a gentile they have been born again and are a new creation

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬

Gods children are created by faith in Jesus alone and th ata found when we hear and believe the gospel

It’s all one doctrine for one group of people not Jew not gentile but for every person in tbe earth who will believe

The kingdom of God is eternal it’s not just a kingdom it’s the new heaven and earth to come

This is where the children will end up This is our inheritance and promise of Christ in the gospel

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,

Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That term “inheritance” is about the family the kingdom is thier inheritance the family of God is just the father and his children that is who the kingdom belongs to , who the citizens are , who the body of Christ is , the church of believers on earth will inherit the kingdom

airs wll one doctrine is all I mean to say there’s no reason or rhyme for us to seperate the church , the body , the kingdom , the family it’s all speaking of e same group of people Christians

Jer_3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
What is this post suppose to mean?

I recall one poster on CC said his forefather was Adam?!

I thought it would be Abraham but no.
I agree with you. Like the song. "Father Abraham, had many sons..." and "I am one of them, and so are you..." Through Jesus.

1. Who are Israelites;
2. to whom pertaineth the adoption,
3. and the glory,
4. and the covenants,
5. and the giving of the law,
6. and the service of God,
7. and the promises;
8. Whose are the fathers,
9. and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came,
10. who is over all, God blessed for ever.
Amen.
(Rom 9:4,5)
Strong's defines gentile as a heathen we are not heathens.
