Notice something about the Lamb's wife? She has a certain attribute about her, righteousness. The Lamb's wife will have made herself ready. She was given garments of fine linen, which is the righteousness of the Saints. The Saints are doers of the Word, not depending on the Lord's righteousness to cover up their ongoing unrighteous deeds that defile one's garments.

Revelation 19
[6] And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
[7] Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
[8] And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
[9] And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. (KJV)

What defiles one's garments? Jesus tell us.

Mark 7
[20] And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
[21] For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
[22] Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
[23] All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. (KJV)

Matthew 14:36
And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

Zechariah 3:
3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy garments as he stood before the angel.
4 So the angel said to those standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes!”

Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have removed your iniquity, and I will clothe you with splendid robes.”

The Lamb's wife will be arrayed in fine linen, white and clean — which is the righteousness of the Saints, not the Lord's righteousness. Of course the Lord is the ultimate when it comes to righteousness, but the Saints have righteousness too. Jesus said this when giving the Sermon on the Mount, a set of commandments and principles for the children of God to adhere to:

Matthew 5
[20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Please finish the Scripture to put it in proper context.

The righteousness of Christ is the righteousness of the saints. See Matthew 6:33...seek ye...His righteousness.

and those works are not of our flesh dear brother but come as we grow in the faith.
We are all at different stages of training in righteousness through Christ from babes on milk to the mature with meat. Without Christs atonement we are all hopeless and unrighteousness as Romans 3 points out. It’s only by the Blood of Christ we are washed, not by our works. Works are the outflow of Gods love in and through us. It’s not something we muster in our own self efforts, that is of the flesh and those works from flesh will be burnt up as they amount to nothing . Saint is a positional relationship not on merit or obedience. We have been bought with a price. Christs blood cleansed us and we already are wearing the clean garment white fine linen in the eyes of God. When God the Father sees us all he sees is us as saints through the blood of Christ the Son. Our works are as filthy rags to a holy God. Only by the blood can we come to the throne confidently. The curtain in the tabernacle was torn in two by the hand of God for a very valid reason. Why do we humans insist on sewing it back up with religious works?

Although I had earlier referred to the sermon on the mount as Jesus's commandments, further thought upon leads me to conclude that the beatitudes are Jesus' 'blessings," that is, "Blessed are the those that hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled..."

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth...

None of these "do" anything but realize their spiritual poverty and continue in humble patience and longsuffering for their ultimate redemption.

The works of the law of Moses cannot save. The works of man, i.e., philanthropy, etc., cannot save. But the works of Jesus in our lives does save.

If by “saved” you actually mean progressive sanctification yes. Salvation is by the blood, sanctification is an ongoing thing, out of a sanctified and surrendered life eternally secure we will have an outflow of good works be they few or many, but they will be evident and we will be rewarded for those good works that stand the fire test. We never reach perfection till we are with Him but we are in a dress rehearsal today.

His righteousness is the Christian's righteousness. Philippians 3:9...found in Him, not having mine own righteousness...but that...which is OF God...

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses (physically, or morally), so that the power of Christ may rest on me.

Please heed the Lord's warning that the workers of unrighteousness will not inherit His Kingdom.

Revelation 22
[10] And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
[11] He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
[12] And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
[13] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
[14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
[15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
[16] I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
